In the end, Prophet Muhammad ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ reached Sidratul Muntaha.
The story of the journey of Isra Miraj Prophet Muhammad ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ):
Meaning:
“And indeed Muhammad had seen the Jibril (in apparently the original) at another time (i.e.) in Sidratul Muntaha. Nearby was a dwelling paradise, (Muhammad saw Jibril) when Sidratul Muntaha was overwhelmed by something covering him. His vision (Muhammad) did not turn away from what he saw and did not (after all) go beyond it. Verily he has seen some of the signs (power) of his greatest Lord.”
Ibn Kathir quotes Imam Ahmad of Ibn Masud ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ in connection with the meaning of this verse: And indeed Muhammad had seen Jibril (in his original appearance) at another time, (i.e) in Sidratil Muntaha.
That the Messenger of Allah ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ That the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ (in the original form), he had six hundred wings, from the feathers of his wings, scattered in various colors of pearl and yaqut." Ibn Kathir says the sanad hadith is jayyid (good) again strong.
Imam Ahmad also narrated from Ibn Masud ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ " Gabriel came to me wearing clothes that were full of pearls."
On the other hand, Ibn Kathir also presented a hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad of Ismail who said that Masruq came to Aisyah ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ , then asked: "Reputation Ummul Muminin, did Muhammad see his Lord?"
Ayesha ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ answered, "Subhanallah, my hair stands on your question, and then where is your mind from the three things that whoever says it, then he has lied. The one who tells you that Muhammad has seen his Lord, he has lied."
Then Ayesha ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ He cannot be reached by the sight of the eye, while He can see all the visions." (QS Al-Anam: 103)
And saith Allah SWT, "And there is none for a man that Allah speaks with him except by the means of revelation or behind the veil." (QS Assyria: 51) And whoever tells you that he knows what will happen tomorrow, he is lying.
Then Aisha ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ) read His words, "Truly Allah is the only one with whom He knows what is in the womb." (QS Luqman: 34), to the end of the verse.
And whosoever tells you that Muhammad hides something, he hath indeed lied. Then Aisha read his words, "O Messenger, tell you what has been sent down to you from your Lord." (QS Al-Maidah: 67) However, he only saw Gabriel in the original twice.
Furthermore Imam Ahmad narrated the hadith from Masruq saying that when he was in front of Aisha ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ , he asked that Allah ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ) had said, "Verily, Muhammad saw Gabriel in the bright horizon." (QS At-Takwir: 23) And saith Allah SWT, "And indeed Muhammad had seen the Gabriel (in his original appearance) at another time." (QS An-Najm: 13)
Similarly, according to what Bukhari and Muslim have revealed in the Sahih, each through the Ash-Syabi hadith with the same sanad.
Imam Ahmad also narrated from Abdullah ibn Syaqiq that he once said to Abu Dharr, that if he had met the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ He would have asked.
Abu Dharr asked, "What question are you going to ask Him?"
I said, "Did he ever see his God?"
Abu Dharr said, "I asked Him that question, and He ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ?'I have seen Him?'
This is according to the text of Imam Ahmad.
Muslim imams have narrated this hadith through two paths with two lafaz. From Abu Dharr who told him that he once asked the Prophet SAW, "Have you ever seen your Lord?"
The Prophet answered "I see only Nur, where I may see Him."
Al-Khalal has narrated an opinion that considers this hadith to contain weaknesses, that Imam Ahmad was asked about this hadith, so he replied, "I still consider it predicated munkar," but I don't know the reason.
Ibn Abu Hatim also narrated from Abu Dharr saying that the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ has seen his Lord with the sight of his heart and does not see Him with the sight of his eyes.
Ibn Khuzaimah attempted to prove that this hadith is munqati (there is a broken chain of narrators). While Ibnul Juzi menghwilkan this hadith with the understanding that perhaps Abu Dharr asked the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ before he underwent Israel. Therefore Abu Dharr ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ replied Abdullah ibn Syaqiq with this answer. But had Abu Dharr asked that to the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ After the events" Isra, the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ) would have answered him with a positive answer.
Ibn Kathir said that Ibnul Juzi's treasury was considered weak because Aisha ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ asked after the events of Israel. It turns out that His answer ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ The heavens has been looking at Him blatantly. And as for the person who thinks that the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ adjusted for his capture, or tries to blame Aisyah.
Like Ibn Khuzaimah in his Book of Tawhid, he is in error, only Allah is the All-Knowing.
