Umm Aiman ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ was a dark-black slave who was left by Abdullah ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ trade.
As most of his best friends are better known by his kun-yah than his real name, so is Umm Aiman . His real name is Barakah bint Tsa’labah bin Amr bin Hishn. His kun-yah was taken from his son named Aiman the son of Ubaid. Umm Aiman (the mother of Aiman). But his most famous son and a major friend was Osama bin Zaid ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ (Ibn Abdil Bar: al-Isti’ab, 1/578).
He was among the first to embrace Islam. He emigrated to Habashah and Medina. And she is the woman who mingles with the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ (Ibnul Atsir: Asadul Ghabah, 7/325).
Among the interesting events of the togetherness of the Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ is when one of the Prophet's daughters will die. The Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ stuck it in his chest. Seeing that, Umm Aiman ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ cried. The Messenger of Allah ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ 「Hey Umm Aiman, did you cry when the Prophet was by your side?“
Umm Aiman replied, “How could I not cry while the Prophet cried.”
The Prophet said, “Really I cried (not because of calamity) but this is affection," He ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ “ every time a believer is in good condition. His soul is separated from his body while he praises God.” (Sunan an-Nasai, Chapter fil Buka’ ‘alal mayit 1843. Al-Albani commented on the shahih).
The Prophet called Umm Aiman ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ “Wahai Ibu.”
When looking at Umm Aiman ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ , the Prophet said, “This is part of my family.”
The apostle of Allah ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ Thy Prophet ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ 'My mother' was after 'My mother'."
From Umm Aiman ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ 「Diplink. ⁇ exhorts his family by saying,
“Do not associate God with anything. Even if you are killed or burned. Don't disobey both your parents. If you are commanded to separate your family and your world, do so. Do not drink khamr. Because khamr is the key to all evil. Do not you deliberately leave the prayer.who did it, then he has escaped the protection of His Apostle.” [Shahih at - Targhib 571].
With Friends
Anas bin Malik ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ said, “The common people gave the Prophet the date, until Bani Quraizah and Bani Nadhir were conquered. My family told me to go to the Prophet, and then I asked about what people gave or some of what they gave. The gift was partly given by the Prophet to Umm Aiman.
"Your mother Aiman once came and I hung a shirt around my neck. It says, ‘Don't. By Allah, there is no true deity except Him (God ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ). He did not give you because He gave me.' While the Prophet said, 'Your share is this number.' Umm Aiman said, 'Not by Allah ten times as much.' This shows the Prophet's closeness to Umm Aiman."
After Muhammad ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ After marrying Siti Khadijah ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ , Umm Aiman. Umm Aiman ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ was one of the Assabiqunal Awwaluns who accompanied the Prophet throughout his life. From that marriage was born a child whom they named Aiman.
One day, after the Prophet died ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ , “Let's go to Umm Aiman. As the Prophet used to visit him.” When the two got there, Umm Aiman ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ was crying. They both said, “What makes you cry? What is by Allah's side is better for His Messenger.”
Umm Aiman ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ said, “I cried not because I did not know that Allah's side was better for His Messenger. But my tears were because of the disconnection of the revelation from the heavens.”
The words of Umm Aiman ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ This made Abu Bakr ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ and Umar. Then the two cried with Umm Aiman ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ (Shahih Muslim: Bab Min Fadhail Umm Aiman radhiallahu ‘anha (6472), 7/144).
Umm Aiman ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ radhiallahu ‘anha says,
ما رأيت رسول الله شكا صغيرًا ولا كبيرًا جوعًا ولا عطشًا، كان يغدو فيشرب من ماء زمزم، فأعرض عليه الغداء فيقول: لا أريده أنا شبع
“I have never seen the Messenger complain that little or much. When hungry or full. He passed the morning by drinking zam-zam water. Then offered food, he said, ‘I don't want it. I'm full.'"
Umm Aiman ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ said on the day of Umar ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ , “Today, Islam became weak.” (al-Haitsami: Majmu’ az-Zawaid, 9/418).
Historians have different opinions about his death. Ibn Kathir rahimahullah said, “Umm Aiman died five months after the death of the Prophet. Some say six months. Some say, he was still alive after the killing of Umar bin al-Khattab.”
