A Short Story Anime For The Wibu And Otaku
NORAGAMI

Noragami is an anime adaptation of Adachitoka's manga, which also handles artwork for Alive's manga in collaboration with Tadashi Kawashima.

This is the story 😉

👇

Yato was an unknown god and did the work of helping people to collect rewards for realizing the ideal of building his own temple while exterminating Phantoms, a collection of evil spirits that bothered humans.

While on the job, he almost gets hit by a truck but is saved by Hiyori Iki.

Due to the incident, Hiyori's spirit easily detached from her body at any time and made her a Half-Phantom.

Hiyori who wants her body back to normal begged Yato after knowing she is a god, but Yato herself actually does not know how to restore Hiyori's body as before and continues to twitch, so Hiyori inevitably involved with Yato's affairs in his efforts to ask Yato to return his body as before, including finding Yato a Regalia or “Sacred Treasure” to eradicate Phantom.

Along with Hiyori's deepening involvement with the world of the gods and the Phantoms, Hiyori comes to understand how the gods actually live, their relationship with the Regalia, and the reality of who Yato really is.

😉

With a fast pace from the beginning, the combination of a slick supernatural themed action scene with fresh comedy scenes made me fall in love with Noragami since the first episode, he said, and my love for Noragami grew as the story went on.

At first I thought Noragami would focus on Phantom-hunting elements that prioritize action, but it turns out the story is more focused on exploring characters with Phantom-hunting as a spice, but still interesting to listen to.

The gods' relationship with their Regalia becomes one of the highlights in the story, similar to the Shinigami's relationship with their Zanpakutou in Bleach, but Noragami manages to develop it into more complex and touching.

How their relationship is not only limited to the rigid relationship between the tool and the master, but how their relationship can be like a relationship between friends or relatives who are so close, free, understanding and interdependent, he said, but be ready to protect each other at the stake of life.

The Phantoms in Noragami are also very well described, simple, but actually managed to build its creepy image with its distinctive whisper sound effects, and emphasize that the Phantoms can appear anywhere, infecting anyone is like a disease, and leading them to darkness through sadness, loneliness, fear, envy, and other negative emotions that easily arise in the human heart.

Yato's silly and haphazard behavior overrides Yukine and Hiyori's often exaggerated reactions, successfully provoking laughter throughout the story.

The flowers of romance also begin to develop as Yato slowly realizes that Hiyori's presence has saved her so much, and makes us think of Kaoru-Kenshin's relationship in Rurouni Kenshin or Kagome-Inuyasha in Inuyasha.

*character

How the various sides of the characters are displayed naturally and successfully developed along with the story.

Starting from the depiction of teenage characters through Yukine who is unstable and lonely, the other side of Yato, the sweet and mysterious character Nora, to Rabo the villain who is cruel because it is actually lonely.

Yato : A small god unknown to people and doing work helping people on demand as “Delivery God” to collect rewards for realizing the ideals of building his own temple.

From the outside he looks haphazard, narcissistic, silly, and indifferent, but actually has a dark past and can be so cold when serious, even though he is actually soft-hearted.

When Yukine, her new unstable regalia, sins frequently, Yato keeps trying to warn Yukine of her ways, she kept believing in Yukine and did not abandon her even though she had to endure suffering every time Yukine sinned.

It was brilliantly animated by Hiroshi Kamiya, who also voiced Levi (Rivai) in Attack on Titan, as well as Akashi Seijuurou in the Kuroko no Basuke series.
