ACE

ACE
Soul

Ace walked around, greeting the people. I just follow him like a lost duck.

Fancy-sounding music was playing against the backdrop of the event and some people even held their wine glasses. It's weird that Kai arranged all this.

Ace finally approached someone with a ringed woman beside him.

"Aces." Someone smiled at him, shook his hand.

"Mrs. Caldez." Ace replied with a tone I heard a little upset in his voice. Ace chatted with the man as I looked at his wife.

"He wears a ring on his ring finger." My inner.

"I'm Liz." she smiled politely.

"I'm Sofia." Say it while shaking his hand.

"So, how's Ace doing?" He asked me curiously.

"Yes, he's fine despite complaining a lot." I rolled my eyeballs and he giggled.

"You're brave enough, I like you." Liz grinned at me.

"Thank you, but I'm not that brave." I took water from one of the maids as they passed by.

"Did you not drink wine?" He asked with a slightly confused face.

"No." I smiled shyly.

"I'm only 17." I admit.

"Darling, we're all killers, no one will care if you don't drink a glass of wine." He's nodding.

"Are you a trained person?" I asked him, shifting the subject.

"God no, I can't take someone's life every day, my heart won't be able to accept it." He shook his head.

"Yeahhh, I agree with what you said." I muttered to her, it might sound inconclusive.

He laughed out loud but it was not a joke. I just smiled and blinked at him.

"How long have I been in this conversation?" My words are so soft.

"Are you a trained person?" He's asking.

"Yes, it looks like." I shrugged my shoulders indifferently.

"What was your first murder like?" Ask with doubt.

"Hmm, that's fine because I have a reason to kill someone, they don't die as innocent people." Answer me admit. I glanced a little at Ace, he was too busy with his business.

"So your husband's part of the Mafia that Ace leads?" My toot.

"Hm how well, it's hard to explain. My husband has a working relationship with Ace Mafia which means they are friends" he explained with many hand gestures. "So we're not really separate from the Ace group because we like to play it safe." I got to me again.

"If you don't mind, I'd like to ask. How old are you?" I asked as I gulped down the drinking water I was holding.

"I'm 23 years old." He smiled politely.

"How long have you been married?" I asked a little curious.

"Hmm, less than a year." Fia was beaming happily.

"Come on Sofia." Suddenly Ace called right standing beside me.

"Goodbye, nice to meet you." I wave my hand.

"It's nice to meet you too, Sofia" Liz waved back in response.

"You guys look familiar. Already friends?" Ace asked curiously, raising one of his eyebrows.

"I don't like him, he looks a little fake." I admit to shrugging my shoulders.

"Good, 'cause I hate her husband too." Ace emphasized that hatred.

"Your father said that in the car he had planned something." I asked Ace to be curious.

"What's that?" Continue with caution.

"He didn't tell anyone." Ace shook his head.

"It usually smells of violence." She looks worried which makes my stomach churn.

"What do you mean by violence?" I widened my eyes.

My face was pale for a moment as I listened to Ace's words. "I'm going to die." I panicked while holding my head.

I saw Ace grinning. "I'm not gonna let that happen. It was already in the last year, he had to do something different this year." Said Ace holding my shoulder trying to calm down.

"OK." I nodded, trusting him.

A few hours have passed me and Ace have greeted almost all of Ace's business associates. I felt tired, having to always show a good impression for Ace.

"When it's over, my legs are already hurting." I whined at Ace as I limped to match his big move.

"It usually lasts all night." Ace.

"Huftt, I won't have legs." My words dramatize.

"Come, we'll sit." Take her with a soft tone in her voice.

Ace and I walked towards the empty chair, he sat next to me, watching me with his eagle gaze. I swung my legs with small movements forward and backward as I played my nervous hands.

Ace looked at me and I knew without him talking, he wanted me to stop playing my hand. I clenched my fists to stop being nervous.

I still move my legs nervously. Ace placed his hand on my thigh, forcing my leg to stop moving from behind my dress. I gulped when I saw his hand.

"You're so nervous easily." Ace licked his lips while looking me in the eye very intensely.

"It's not my fault." I muttered while looking around.

"Who's fault then?" Ace wondered in curiosity.

"One of my abusive fathers." I looked at a man who was looking at me.

I felt Ace's body stiffen upon hearing the brief mention of my father.

"You may be right." Ace agreed with me to this one, removing his hand from my thigh.

"Yeah come home every day, I always wonder if I've done something that made my father angry." I smiled a little looking at Ace .

"What does it feel like?" Ace asked hesitantly to upset me.

"Direful. And school was my only escape, which is why I kept insisting on going back to school." I stared at the floor.

"Wow. School. The library will be more interesting." Doda Ace fooling around.

"I know." I chuckle softly.

I saw my arm with bruises there.

"Look at what you did to me." I pouted at Ace while showing my wrist to Ace

"Mmm I saw it." He's nodding.

"You're so mean." I pouted, pressing my bruises.

"Let me see it." Ace grabbed my hand gently, checked it.

"You're gonna be okay." He rolled both his eyes.

"Stay you hurt me." I glared at him.

"I'm sorry." He muttered to me but in a seductive tone.

I don't know if he's sincere or not.

"You're lucky, no one got an apology from me. You just got." His whisper, leaning slightly towards me, was only a few inches from my ear.

"My hands still hurt" I said.

Ace gently grabbed my arm again and suddenly dipped it, right on the bruise it was on.

Deg.

My body suddenly jerked, like an electric shock, the fine hairs on my neck standing against my spine. Ace looked up to see my reaction. What he didn't realize, what he did was not good for my heart health.

"Is it Still Sick?" Ask.

"N-no, it's okay." I whispered nervously, unable to look at her. I could see Ace holding back his smile because of my reaction.

I saw Kai looking at us with an angry look.

"Consideration, Attention." Kai roared at everyone, trying to draw their attention among the loud chatter.
