Agatha Anderson

I don't like the rules of life that require me to be quiet and look like a doll.

The woman sat with her legs crossed and her arms folded in front of her chest. The look on his face showed firmness, elegance and calmness but the gaze from his brown obsidian was able to intimidate anyone who looked at him.

Agatha has been in this room since forty-five minutes ago staring boredly at the golden glowing candle on the dining table decorated with black and gold shades.

"Agatha..."

"Don't talk to me Dad if it's just to say nonsense" he said coldly.

"Listen to me Agatha, everything I've told you isn't bullshit. I'm not the one proposing this, you can ask Gabriel."

"Gabriel is the same as you are Dad, he will obey everything you say," he said, now turning to his father reluctantly, the man still looked at him with the look of old eyes whose warmth always radiated. Agatha knew her father was not a crafty person, but she knew very well that his father was very clever and manipulative behind his suave and warm demeanor. He could conquer any kind of human just by talking and staring at them. Agatha therefore chose to avoid being eye-to-eye with him.

"So, I'm sorry for making you wait so long" a sweet and friendly voice interrupted their conversation which was actually quite short.

A tall, white-nosed man, coming up with his handsome smile greeted the two. He is Gabriel Anderson Agatha's older brother, a charismatic person who is always lucky in everything in their family. Very inversely proportional to the youngest of this family, Zander Anderson.

"If you don't intend to come you'd better not show Gab. You're just wasting my time" looked at Agatha with her eyes following the figure of Gabriel now sitting across the table.

"Sorry, but I'm really busy, Agatha, you're the only one who doesn't care about me."

"What do I care about you for?"

Then the father's low deheman's voice stopped their little quarrel. "So since you're both here I want to talk."

Agatha grabbed her wine glass then took a sip, her expression showing a hint of annoyance. Because no matter how angry he was with Gabriel or his father, Agatha could do nothing.

While Gabriel looked at his sister with a smile that might be dazzling to some but looked very annoying in Agatha's eyes.

"So can you start? I was almost dead tired of waiting" said Agatha who then responded to a smile from her father.

"Agatha as you know, the Winston family made a proposal to our family. And before you interrupt or get angry at me, it's not me who suggested or deliberately put you in this situation again like before. I know you've always rejected arranged marriages for you dozens of times, but this time I didn't interfere."

Agatha squinted her eyes at her father's words. He was tired of the dozens of matchmaking that his father always offered. Agatha hated everything that referred to the concept of marriage. There is no particular reason, just hate.

"If it wasn't for your interference, then who?"

His father smiled and looked at his eldest son, "Let Gabriel explain," then Gabriel cleared his throat still with a smile at the corner of his lips.

"I am the one in charge of this proposal, Sweetheart," said Gabriel who immediately made Agatha look at him in disbelief.

"Wait on! don't get angry I'll explain it further so listen to me, "and then after drinking the water in the glass Gabriel goes back to explain.

"You know I went to Los Angeles a while ago right? Well, I met my best friend there and we happened to be handling the same contract with one company. And when we were together, my best friend told me that she was thinking a lot because of her sister."

Agatha frowned at Gabriel's explanation, "Then what does this have to do with the all fucking things?"

"Agatha, watch your words and get used to no longer saying such rude things," admonished Mr. Anderson who felt his daughter was losing her sweet side more and more.

"The head of the Winston family is dead and his mother wants his second son's marriage before he may also be able to leave this world at any time, so he asked my best friend to find a partner for his sister as soon as possible," Gabriel stared at Agatha's reaction and after making sure her sister was still not expressing anything he immediately continued.

"And Arthur asked for my help which of course I was happy to immediately think of my beloved sister," still with a smile at the corner of his lips Gabriel ignored the incredulous and upset gaze that Agatha threw.

"So Gab, you're saying I should get married just to indulge the wishes of a woman who might soon die as well as the worries of an older brother? Are you kidding me, Gab?" agatha really can't believe the brother's absurd reason and this fucking wedding idea.

"Agatha watch your words" the father scolded.

"I'm sure you're not that stupid and desperate to ask me to get married. Daddy's! Why do you have to follow Gabriel's bullshit? Is my life just a joke to you?" amuk Agatha who now alternately looked at her father and sister sharply.

Gabriel looked at his father, both of whom knew it would be difficult to persuade Agatha. In fact, not infrequently they will fight each other to maintain their egos and opinions even though the end that can be ascertained is Agatha getting what she wants.

But this time Gabriel and his father would not budge, not for political reasons in business or for material gains because anyone knows that the Anderson family fortune cannot fall from the top spot in the country, but this time the two must be able to convince Agatha that the matchmaking this time is very important.

"Agatha please just this time, and I won't ask you anything more."

"No and never Gab, just find another woman who would do such foolishness. I'm Agatha Anderson not getting married" she said, adding, "Don't force me for any reason."

After saying that Agatha stood up and after a formal farewell to her brother and father, she left the room and was greeted by Joshua who was waiting for her in front.

"So how?" tanyanya followed Agatha's steps.

"Josh, don't involve me in anything like this again even if Gabriel or my father commands you. You just have to listen to me, "he turned to the personal assistant and got into his fancy car waiting in the yard.

Joshua could only stare at the beautiful woman without giving any answer because he knew it was useless to argue with an Agatha. He won't win.

They are now back in the office because Agatha still has appointments with some clients that have to be postponed due to the sudden meeting.

Eight o'clock at night.

Agatha drove her car out of the basement of her office to her apartment. Joshua had gone home, they separated after the meeting and Agatha stubbornly wanted to go home alone without her best friend.

Agatha needs to be alone.

After all the crazy things that happened today. He needs his time.

Forty-five minutes drive Agatha to her apartment building. Soon he headed for the 27th floor of his residence. Just as his feet stepped out of the elevator, he was startled by someone standing right in front of him.

Men are tall, strapping in a shirt and navy suit that looks very fitting on his body. Agatha looked at the man in front of her who was now looking over her and was also looking at her with a line of smiles.

Who is he?

And more importantly, why is it in her apartment?
