...It feels like an unreal picture between shadows or reality. I want to wake up even though I'm sure I'm not asleep....
.......
.......
.......
Agatha clenched her hand against the hand of her friend as if to strengthen herself in that way.
"You can do this, Agatha. I know it's a big decision and you've done well. Thank you for trying and I'll always be there for you" Joshua whispered in their steps toward Christopher's waiting spot.
"I don't know but.. It happened, right?" agatha answered still with a beautiful smile on her lips, though it did not touch her to her heart.
"You just have to believe, and let your pain be stored in memories. Mikael must be happy for you too."
Her eyes heated up to the words of her best friend, bringing her back to her memory yesterday afternoon when she visited Mikael at the funeral and the 'white house'.
....
That afternoon after returning from her office, Agatha asked Joshua to accompany her to the white house.
The White House is a specially made place by Agatha in memory of Mikael in the left-wing building of the Anderson mansion. The place where all Mikael's belongings and memories from Anna's madam house were moved there.
A place only Agatha, Joshua and sometimes Felix visit if the man misses the figure of the younger brother. Mikael is a special figure for those who are too sorry his time in the world is not long. God loved her even more though the way to call her home left deep scars for those around her.
A white lily in her arms accompanied Agatha's steps towards the white wooden door with beautiful carvings on the outside.
"You sure you're doing it now? I mean, should it be exactly the day before you get married? I'm just afraid your feelings and thoughts are falling apart again" said Joshua, standing next to him, both of whom were at the door.
"I have to tell him, right? At least I have to tell her something before tomorrow I become another man's wife" she replied softly and tried to catch her heavy breathing.
"But you always end up with a messy feeling every time you get out of this room."
"That's why I asked you to accompany me, Joshie."
"...alright."
After taking a deep breath of bracing herself, Agatha opened the lock on the wooden door.
Still same.
The atmosphere of the air inside was still the same as it had been in the past every time Agatha came here.
Spreading the same view around him. Actually, this room is more appropriately called a room with five times the area in general.
There was a wooden bed in the middle of the room, then a white wooden cabinet where all Mikael's clothes were placed there, next to which was a rack containing bags and some shoes. Then on the other side of the room there were various charters and awards of competition belonging to Mikael during the school that the young man had obtained with his genius, then there were bookshelves and study tables that were certainly filled with books, which were, and the display table contains pictures of Mikael with his brothers in the foster home, Mikael and Anna's madam, and there are also many portraits of the young man with Felix.
Mikael loves photography. The young man likes to capture beautiful scenery or just a simple moment that is always a beautiful portrait if Mikael takes his picture.
His old camera was also there, on another shelf along with some of the young man's favorite items. Then on the wall were many portraits of the young man with Agatha hanging by an irregular rope but felt deep when viewed.
Agatha walked over and took a portrait that was taken in the foster home while they were working on renovating the yard. In the portrait, Mikael looks happy with a smile that is also emanated from his eyes.
A single tear escaped falling from the corner of Agatha's eye.
I still miss you so much.
Joshua who saw it said nothing but to come closer and gently rubbed his best friend's shoulder.
Agatha letting her tears fall down represented a feeling she could not speak.
Everything about Mikael is a memory and a longing.
Agatha enshrined the figure of the young man she loved so much in this room. In all the things about Mikael that don't change and don't disappear.
Even Agatha willingly pleaded with madam Anna to bring all this in order to preserve the memories of the young man. The only one he did not bring was a childhood photo of Mikael which Anna said would be a memory for the kind woman that Mikael was once her son.
Many people love him.
It was also evident from the tomb of Mikael who never deserted from the fresh flower arrangements on it every time Agatha came there.
Agatha's gaze turned to the only large portrait of Mikael on the wall of the room.
Smiling bitterly, Agatha stepped closer and looked at the face with a beautiful smile that was fixed.
"Hey. I'm coming again."
"You're not bored of me, are you? Don't you dare get bored or I'll go berserk and catch up with you there," and then there's a soft, discordant laugh coming from Agatha's lips.
"I miss you."
Agatha took a deep breath to neutralize her feelings.
"Mikael, I hope you don't hate me. Today I came to ask your permission," and now Agatha's voice is heard among her sobs.
"There's someone who's going to marry me tomorrow. I'm sorry I didn't tell you this before. I—"
Agatha could not help herself anymore, her cries breaking with the rush of tears, her heart felt so tight and heavy.
Joshua approached and hugged his best friend without saying anything because he knew he had no right to speak at this time. Only her existence needed Agatha now.
"I'm sorry Mikael... Excuse me... I really don't want to let you down, it's just that everything that's going on right now needs to be a sacrifice from me especially for dad."
"You told me once in a while that we have to sacrifice ourselves for the good of our loved ones, right? I think I understand what you mean now."
"I used to get upset whenever you did good to others and they didn't take your kindness."
"I see, Mikael," Agatha's sobbing sounded heartbreaking to Joshua's ears, and the man realized that his best friend's heart had really been owned by Mikael.
"Many things you taught me and only then can I understand. That's why I hope you can understand what I'm doing right now."
"I'm sorry Mikael. I hope you give me strength and confidence in the marriage I'm going to have tomorrow."
"I consider your permission to be my wedding gift."
Still with sobbing and tears flowing, Agatha embraced the friend who had strengthened her. After her feelings and cries subsided, Agatha took off her embrace and wiped away the trace of tears on her cheeks.
Grabbing a bouquet of lilies that she had placed on the bed, Agatha took a glass vase and poured water before moving the lily there next to a smiling portrait of Mikael.
Dear Mikael, please,
Thank you for being present in my life.
Thank you for being my first love and my true love.
I asked your permission for my wedding.
I hope you are not disappointed and may the angels in heaven take care of you for me.
Always happy is my Mikael.
Until we meet again up there until we are together again in happiness.
I will never forget you.
You will always be the first and only for me.
With Love, though,
Agatha.
