Agatha Anderson
Agatha Anderson — They First Anniversary

...Have you ever wondered if destiny is always on your side, or turned against you?...

...The tangled strands of yarn that came back wrapped around each other when I was just trying to unravel them....

.......

.......

.......

Christ rushed to his car as soon as he got off the plane and sped towards his apartment.

A few hours before takeoff, Christ sent a message to his wife to announce his return.

....

Sunshine, are you still in the office?

^^^Yes.^^^

^^^Your job is done?^^^

Yeah, but I missed the flight.

^^^Then it does not come back?^^^

So then.

Arthur's been handling it and I'm so relieved.

^^^Padal is back tomorrow^^

^^^^n't a problem either.^^^

^^^ Do not make yourself tired.^^^

(True, his wife forgot their anniversary)

But I want to go home now.

Missed you already.

^^^Why do you always say such ridiculous things?^^^

The sunshine...

You don't miss me?

^^^^No,^^

^^^you used to leave me to work.^^^

Agatha...

^^^Hhh,^^^

^^^Alright. hurry home.^^^

Wait for me to come back, please,

I want us to have dinner together.

^^^Baiklah.^^^

^^^Sunday later.^^^

....

Remembering the message they sent each other earlier made his heart feel full of butterflies.

But now it was 23:13 and it was too late to take his wife to dinner.

His head turned to the side where a bouquet of white roses he had prepared for Agatha.

Why is it so messy like this?

As soon as he got in and out of the car, his steps hurriedly ran up the elevator to the top floor where he lived.

His hands were full of flowers on his right hand and a box of cookies on his left. With difficulty opening the password on the door.

The lights were turned off indicating his wife may have been asleep. Of course now the day will change and Christ feels chaotic, he has tried but circumstances do not allow it to be on time.

Entering her dimly-seen room Agatha lay sideways as usual. His wife was really asleep. His steps slowly approached, placing the cake box and bouquet of flowers on the nightstand, sitting himself beside his wife who was lying on her back.

Christ shifted his body closer, peeking at his wife's pretty face from over the woman's shoulder.

"Happy anniversary, Sunshine. Sorry for coming late on our special day. I love you, Agatha" she whispered softly in Agatha's ear.

The disappointment in his heart felt even deeper because he felt like he had failed to make this day special for them.

Possibly,

Agatha did not consider this anything special, but for her it was a day she had been looking forward to.

With a still messy feeling Christ intended to cleanse himself before going to bed, until Agatha's slow movements made him stop.

"Christ?"

"Hey, Sunshine. Did I wake you?" he asked quietly with a faint smile.

"You're home, what time is it?" muttered Agatha who turned to face her husband half-sleepily.

"Now at 1 am" he hesitated,

"Agatha, just sleep again. I'm sorry to wake you up," when she was eager to say 'happy anniversary' directly to Agatha but suddenly her tongue felt twisted.

Not saying anything more then Agatha closed her eyes again, it seemed that the woman was completely half-conscious in response to her husband's return.

Sighing softly and trying not to get emotional with everything that happened today, Christ stepped into the bathroom. Maybe a warm shower can relieve all the annoyance and disappointment.

Is this attitude too much?

Maybe so.

As a man who loves for a short time, fighting for his love for a heart that cannot love, seeking a warm attitude despite always getting cold replies but he never wants to give up. If you ask him if he is disappointed, the answer is yes. Sometimes he felt that all the things he did might be in vain because until this moment his wife had not been able to return his feelings.

Agatha's good attitude to her was only a form of gratitude, courtesy and duty and limited to carrying out her duties as a wife.

Instead of easing his emotions, the shower actually led him to a long and endless cut of his love story. Also about the past pain he wants to forget.

Christ will still love Agatha though he often sees her staring at the sheets of dull notes that Agatha carries with her wherever she goes.

If Agatha can love endlessly, she can do the same.

Even after your death I have to contend with your memories...?

Yep...

Christ knew the young man.

He knew the first love that until now is still the love in his wife's heart. Someone he could never defeat.

How to defeat a dead man?

It would be easier to compete against the living.

He can use his effort, wealth or power to compete against the.

But that guy is dead.

Even if he struggled to exert everything he had, it would not be comparable to all Mikael's memories of Agatha.

Damnit.

Why should he feel this on a day that should make him happy?

The messy anniversary.

And disappointment comes with jealousy from the past.

His eyes ached now, and with the swift water that soaked his body, the clear crystal from the corner of his eyes flowed along.

He was not a strong steel that could be the best shield for a person

But he was trying to become a strong fortress wall to protect not just one person but all the things he loved.

And as hard as he tried to stand up to challenge the world

He's still a human being

A man on the edge of his disappointment can get hurt

Could be disappointed

Could be sad

And cry

After almost an hour in the bathroom with all the hassle in his head and heart, Christ laid himself on the bed. Staring at his wife's back and his shoulders rising and falling in rhythm with the roar of his sleep's subtle breath. Silently sighing deeply repeatedly trying to neutralize all his feelings.

It's good that he goes to sleep immediately and gets rid of all his overthinking.

He's too tired today.

After only two seconds of closing his eyes, he was startled by a sudden slow motion beside him and the arm that wrapped around his waist was soft.

"A–gatha?" the whisper was slow and doubtful.

Shocked of course. This was the first time Agatha had embraced him during their sleep together.

All this time his wife always slept sideways behind him and never once hugged him back.

It was always Christ who hugged Agatha from behind. It was always Christ who leaned his head on Agatha's shoulder, it was always Christ who started kissing Agatha even though his wife never returned the treatment. Agatha only accepted everything she did without refusing or retaliating. Just a formality of one of his duties as a wife.

Christ still froze motionless until his wife made a sound,

"I almost thought you fainted in the bathroom. Why so long ago," the woman muttered crazily still with her eyes closed.

"Agatha, are you still awake? What's up?" Christ who still did not expect suddenly nervous and did not know how to.

"Hm, I'm waiting for you."

Especially this?

What happened to Agatha this time?

Christ was sure his wife was not being seductive.

"Agatha—"

"Happy anniversary, Christ. Even if it's already past one day," Agatha said in a hoarse voice and still with her eyes closed.

"Agatha?"

The woman then opened her eyes slowly, raising her head so that she could stare at Christ's face.

"Why do you express that?"

"I'm just surprised, I don't think you remember it at all," he replied honestly, and he felt Agatha's arm coiling around her waist tighten. Slowly his hand touched that slender arm.

"Agatha you're okay, right? I mean–why suddenly hug me like this?"

"Cause this is our anniversary. Thank you for being nice to me and always trying to make me happy, I really appreciate it," Agatha looked at her still speechless husband, pushing his body closer and peeping a glimpse of Christ's lips made the owner even more surprised.

"I think I should report all your efforts from now on..."

Returning to lay down her body which was still very sleepy, this time Agatha leaned her head on the chest of Christ's field, tightened her embrace and secured her position.

Christ could not say anything, he still thought this was a dream.

Is this really Agatha?

Why suddenly...

"You better stop experimenting like that. Hurry to sleep," muttered Agatha. "Your heart can come off if it continues to beat so hard," he murmured then which actually makes Christ's face feel burned in shame.

Doubtful and incredulous at last the two sturdy arms clenched tightly onto Agatha's slender body, tightening her arms as if to ensure that this was not just her illusion alone. Because really something like this is a great achievement of patience and sincerity all along. Christ was happy and felt that his joy all day yesterday had paid off.

"Thank you, I love you Agatha. I love you" he whispered repeatedly and hugged his wife as if there was no tomorrow for them.
