Agatha Anderson — Differences Forms of Compassion

...Who can I trust in this?...

...Like running around in a labyrinth, I was just following the passageways that would probably take me out of this mess....

...But the labyrinth is still a labyrinth, so far as I run out in the end I will get lost deeper and deeper....

.......

.......

.......

Gabriel was still glued to his spot staring at Joshua who seemed almost crazy.

His best friend let out a rough sigh then laughed sarcastically. So continued for a few minutes over and over since he said that bitter fact.

Joshua was no longer calm because of the pacing step and the hand that massaged his temple slowly had shown how shaken he was.

Gabriel did not dare to move or say anything. Not until Joshua calms down.

"Fog. You knew this from the beginning, didn't you?" he asked Gabriel with eyes that could kill anyone for their sharpness.

"... a yes."

"Why did Christ do that to Mikael?"

"Christ has loved Agatha since you were in your second year. She was unable to get close to Agatha due to her engagement status with the woman she disliked. He felt jealous and unfair to see Agatha who chose to be with Mikael at that time. It was because of that jealousy that he acted impulsively and took away the lives of others."

"Killing a disabled person, isn't he called a psychopath? Killing someone who is clearly weaker than him."

"He didn't do it on purpose, Josh.

"Why did you do this to Agatha, why would you play with her life and marry her off to a murderer?"

"I did it for the good of Agatha. And again I have no other choice. Arthur apologized and also begged me to help him get a pardon from Agatha for Christ. I can't see anyone else experiencing what I feel let alone that he's my best friend! Josh, you also have to think that Christ didn't intentionally do that, instead of intentionally committing murder."

"So you're condoning his actions because he's your best friend's brother?" her sarcophagus doesn't see why she should ignore Christ's crimes.

"It's not. I was just trying to understand from the position I was in. We are both brothers of two broken people. We both just want to do what's best for the people we care about."

"By understanding his criminal acts that are not even touched by the law at all?"

"Joshie, I know this is hard to accept but it was the best decision at the time."

Joshua closed his eyes with his hands twitching his forehead. Everything makes no sense even Gabriel's attitude that permeates everything.

"Why didn't he turn himself in and report that instead of covering up the facts all along? Then doesn't that mean she knew and knew who Agatha really was before they got married? He lied to Agatha?" joshua's tone of voice could no longer calm down, the man had already exploded with his emotions.

"Christ was in a psychologically disturbed state after the incident so the Winston family had to close the case. He and Agatha had a terrible thing that affected their psyche. It made me understand the actions the Winston family took."

"They committed a crime, Gab. Killing, erasing evidence, running away, falsifying identities and disseminating them and now cheating on a marriage?"

Gabriel simply fell silent without being able to return the words of his best friend. Everything Joshua said was true, he did not deny it. But all that has happened and all he has done so far is try to do the best for his sister and Christ.

"I'm sorry, Joshie. I just want Agatha to be happy."

"Agatha know this?"

Gabriel remained silent. Of course his sister didn't know at all.

"Gab, I asked if Agatha knew about this?"

"No. And you can't tell him, Josh."

"And let him live a lie? Even if he is happy then it is only an illusion because you are the one who planned everything. How do you think Agatha would feel if she found out?" joshua jolted angrily, he was already unable to contain himself anymore.

He's been looking after Agatha all this time just like his own life. Isn't being a big brother supposed to feel Gabriel more than that? Why was it that her best friend cheated Agatha's happiness from the start?

Joshua grabbed his phone and intended to contact Agatha.

"What are you doing?" sergeant Gabriel at the sight of Joshua's intentions.

"Don't do it, Josh!"

"I have to do it! I don't want Agatha living in your scenario."

"JOSHUA SANDERS! I forbid you as her brother and I know what's best for her!" gabriel shouted in the end, he really did not expect a fight like this with Joshua. He just wanted his best friend to understand him.

"If you really loved him as a big brother, you shouldn't have betrayed him!" joshua stared intently and coldly at Gabriel. Just then that's when the phone in Joshua's grasp vibrates signaling an incoming call.

From Agatha.

The two men stared at each other with Gabriel shaking his head and asking Joshua not to do anything but Joshua could not, he moved his fingers on the answer button.

"... Agatha?" his answer tried to sound normal even though his breathing and heart beat did the opposite.

'Joshie? What's wrong, why does your breath sound like that? You all right?' ask the worried woman from across the street.

"Yes, I'm fine. I just had a nightmare. So you came here?"

'Ah, yes, I called for that. Sorry but I don't seem to be visiting you. Christ seemed to be in pain so I had to go home to check on her condition.' Agatha obviously felt bad, 'Sorry, I will send some food and some vitamins to your apartment.'

"It's okay, thanks you're still watching me."

'Of course, if it wasn't me who would take care of you?' ask the woman in a proud voice. 'I'll see you soon, you take a day off.'

"Agatha, wait!" call Joshua when his best friend is about to end the call.

'Yes? What's up?'

Joshua was speechless looking at Gabriel who looked resigned in front of him. Even Joshua saw there was a look of regret in Gabriel's gaze.

"It's okay, say hello to Christ."

'Alright. You also rest.'

The call ended and Gabriel let out a long breath. Her body slumped and sat on the kitchen floor. His energy seemed to be drained away in just a moment.

And unexpectedly the man sobbed with his head bowed, Joshua was of course shocked and the crouching reflex checked Gabriel's messy state. He did not know how all the feelings in his heart were now mixed into one and made him dizzy.

"I knew I had made a terrible and unforgivable mistake in Agatha's life and I deeply regretted it all because I could do nothing more. I'm glad you love Agatha too, Josh. But I beg you this time to help me make Agatha happy. I beg..."

Gabriel's words sounded desperate and painful to Joshua.

"Gab, I respect you as a friend as well as a sister. I can't just forgive your excuses but I will try to understand and understand everything." Joshua replied later.

"really? You promise you won't tell Agatha?"

"I can't promise it just that for now I won't tell Agatha. It's just that I hope you all consider her feelings because she's entitled, this is her life, Gabriel."

Gabriel simply nodded before embracing his best friend tightly, "Thank you Josh. And sorry for everything."

"You have to apologize to Agatha."

"Yes. Sorry I was yelling at you."

"I understand. Don't ever hurt Agatha because even if it's you, Gab. I'll never stay silent."

Both men mean the same thing to Agatha. Two people who both love Agatha more than their lives and will do anything for Agatha.

Two people who have different ways of protecting the people they care about.
