Arafura S1 - Darker Than Black
S1 | Chapter II & Hear III | World In Memory

The light felt cold, flowing around the blood feathers. The mind feels cool as if it is bringing itself into a pool of peace. The heart is like floating, no longer burdensome to the soul.

Suddenly a bright sun was seen hanging across the eyes. The blue sky bordered the clouds below, enveloping the green land and tall buildings with darkness like night. A rainstorm came crashing down on the Academy, but the atmosphere didn't seem so bad.

The flowing and pooling water, all looked clean like a fish pond, every yard looked green and neat as if cared for with affection, the environment around the castle to the public streets—no remnants of riot garbage, like no longer neglected; the whole looks beautiful. There was no debris blocking the streets, the smoke billowing over some of the Academy buildings now seemed to be completely absent, as if there had never been any chaos.

Suddenly Jon wakes up somewhere quiet. The streets of the academy, there is usually always a horse-drawn carriage. The dark sky makes the street lights glow bright, the light spread out to thousands of rain water stubs clearly visible. The rain always stopped the road traffic, including the students of the academy—most prefer to take shelter waiting for subsides first.

Jon's mind regained consciousness, "wait a minute, isn't it a mess right now? Why is everything without normal?"

The blinking sky scattered a ray of glare for a moment, lightning coming with a sound like a surprise explosion. The rain seemed increasingly heavy making Jon step back until his back was stuck by a thick glass wall behind him.

Rainwater does not hit it, on it there is a small roof that is usually beside the store building, the roof can also be used for shelter. However, the cold air made Jon want to sneeze. The wind continued to blow unceasingly, even to the point of making strange singing sounds like something made it.

"You like the rain, huh?"

The voice surprised Jon, Jon happened to always daydream if it rains. There was a girl next to him with a sweet face. His hair is short in black. Her body wears the official uniform of Akademi—a white shirt with black ribbon, a thin red suit, and a black short skirt.

"It turns out you, Elijah. Why are you here?"

Elijah smiled more and more and seemed confused for a moment.

"Eh? Why am I here, you say? Isn't this my world of memories?" Said Elijah.

"Memory world—?"

As his eyes widened, Jon began to remember. He was holding Elijah's hand while in the room. He forgot that he did not step away from the chair he was sitting in.

"Why? Do you remember that? Or—you forgot?" Elijah asked, he kept asking while smiling cheerfully.

"Yes, I remember," said Jon, "I didn't expect to be here. I guess I can only imagine it."

"Hows it? Cool, right?"

Jon paused for a moment, beginning to be astonished by Elijah's smile.

"You look happier here. Are you this happy when you look at the past?" Ask Jon.

"Okay, what do you think?"

Jon's confused. "Okay, I don't know either. Besides, what's the point of thinking about you" joked Jon interspersed with a small laugh.

However, suddenly Jon's gaze found Elijah's smile disappear as if it were gone. His head lowered making several strands of hair cover his forehead until his eyes.

"Yes, too" murmured Elijah. It looks like taking it seriously.

Jon really felt guilty. "Eh, sorry, Elijah. I was just—"

Elijah's index finger immediately touched Jon's lips, making him unable to continue speaking. A look of bewildered eyes was drawn along with the look on his face, while Elijah was just smiling.

"I don't know, it turns out you're this big. Jon," said Elijah, turning to the dark sky, "i just want to do what I want to do, let alone this is the atmosphere of the Academy of the past. Exactly two weeks before the wedding."

"D—Two weeks?!" Jon was surprised, "If not mistaken, instead of three days after it was a fiancee show?"

"Yes. The fiancee event where Ganendra Rubby and Listyana Airia are legal as matchmakers. I happened to be present at the time, even if it was only a special bodyguard, not as an invited guest entering the room. But so—"

Instantly his voice stopped as if holding up the intent of something.

"Is that? What's the matter, Elijah?" Ask Jon curiously.

Elijah's eyes were serious. His forehead is slightly wrinkled.

"There was something hidden by them—the top brass of the show. Whether true or not this was just my guess, when I was escorting Airia on the road, her aura seemed not to be her real one. His face was covered with a veil so I couldn't be sure. Even so, his brown hair, his white skin, his black eyes—all feel exactly the same."

"So that's just your guess," said Jon as if to regret, "in that case, what about the show? Is there anything strange?"

"I told you, right? I was not allowed to enter despite Airia's loyal followers. I didn't hear any news about the fiancee, all as if to keep my mouth shut from the truth" Airia said.

Jon finally gave up. He leaned his body against the thick glass. His breath seemed to be letting out a sense of disappointment.

"Have it," said Elijah, "this time we forget it. In a moment the old me will soon come to ride the chariot."

"You guys? whatchu mean?"

Suddenly the shop door opened. A beautiful girl dressed in feminine clothes looks beautiful, her skirt is pink while her clothes are white. In her hand was a small bag.

He looked like Elijah. He stepped out the door with a story.

"Well, the smell of rain is soothing" he said, breathing free air.

Another girl followed him. This time Jon didn't recognize him. Her face looked foreign even though it was just as feminine. Her clothes were beautifully colorful, all that distinguished her was her long, blond hair. She does look pretty.

"Where, Elijah? Sweet, right?" said the blonde girl.

"Yes, sweetie! I've never tasted a cake that sweet" she replied as if feeling lucky.

"really, right? Did I say. But be careful, yeah. If fat isn't my fault, you know!"

"You're! Don't remind me!"

Instantly they laughed at each other making the sound of rain water not so audible. On the other hand, Jon was even more confused.

"Not to whisper" said Elijah, "it was me, they walked in my memory. Try to watch the mood of the road now."

Jon's gaze spread to the corner of the street. As soon as a few horse-drawn carriages were seen, people walked on the sidewalk carrying colorful umbrellas on it. The sound of rain now sounds more like a side sound, the rest of the sound of footsteps, horse shoes, to the sound of people talking to each other.

"What's going on?!" Jon's surprised.

"You still don't understand?" Elijah sighed, "let me simplify. How can I remember when I wasn't here. For example, you could have entered the store but you wouldn't have found anyone there" he said, pointing to the store across the street.

"J—So so, yeah. It should have been quiet, "Jon laughed as he scratched his head. He did not think Elijah could act like that. "Oh yes, Elijah, who is that woman? Your best friend?" Asked Jon to divert.

His face turned serious. "He was Intan Ganesha, you could say at that time we were friends. He is now one of the leaders of the Gakuinia Air Academy. Even though she looks beautiful and feminine, please stay away from her."

"What's wrong with her?" Jon curious.

"He's very strong. He also has the nickname 'The yellow lightning' because of his speed in attacking, really like lightning." Obviously Elijah.

In the gap of pause, the blonde girl who had just been talked about, immediately raised her hand while calling out a horse carriage.

"Which, angkot!"

The horse carriage stopped. A coachman is seen wearing a raincoat with his horse. Indeed, in general, the coachman does not sit in the train, let alone it is a special horse carriage general, elongated shape and has one door behind it is only intended for passengers only.

"To the dorm next door, neng?" Ask the coachman.

"Yes, mang. Can it rain like this?" Intan Ganesha answered and immediately responded to the nod of the head.

"Can neng. Please come in."

"Ok, thank you, mang."

They then boarded a horse carriage. At first Jon only noticed it, but it turned out that the real Elijah who was beside him followed him.

"Come, what are you waiting for. We went up," said Elijah once found Jon just speechless.

"Eh? So our only goal is to go to the dorm?"

"Just follow. You'll know for yourself."

There was no other choice, Jon followed. He's on the train. It looks empty inside. Jon sat right across from Elijah and next to Intan, the blonde girl.

The horse-drawn carriage advanced through the rain. Street lights seem to move, very bright dazzling. The light bounces off wet streets with building lights. This afternoon is no different than night.

"A few moments later Intan will do something" Elijah said. Jon didn't ask much, he just nodded his ass.

Suddenly the horse carriage stopped. A person in a white mask and dressed in a black T-shirt appeared to stand in the way. His posture and hairstyle looked like a mischievous man, though thin yet filled with muscles in his arms.

"WHOEVER'S ON THE ANGKOT, GET OUT!"

Seeing the man never leave, the coachman was annoyed. The coachman forced his horse to immediately hit the man. The horse began to want to act, but as soon as the sound of the horse singing was heard, the man turned out without hesitation to injure the horse's leg with the sword and then stab something in the body of the coachman. Instantly lying helpless.

Elijah in memory seemed annoyed at being played with. He rushed up to come out against her. However, Intan did not let it.

"Wait here. This is none of your business, Elijah," Intan said with a sharp eye.

"It's none of my business? But, Intan—" he replied while holding Intan's hand not to leave, "people like them are dangerous. I feel a bad feeling for you."

"It's okay, Elijah," Intan said with a smile, "I'll be right back. Everything's fine."

Intan then immediately went down to the masked man. The rain immediately soaked his blonde hair up to his clothes.

The few people hiding out, the number became four. They came with swords, some even empty-handed but seemed to be undeniable. They were all circling where Intan was standing, looking like a girl who wanted to be played with.

The streets looked deserted, either in reality deserted or indeed Elijah did not remember. What is clear is that Jon can't do anything even if it feels annoying just to see a girl surrounded.

This is Elijah's memory.
