Arafura S1 - Darker Than Black
S1 | Chapter I _Handlet II | Red Invitation

Since the destruction of the academy, the flowers growing in the garden near the castle have not bloomed completely. The sun is not present, the clouding of the sky makes the atmosphere appear dark again. The garden lights are brightly lit.

In the middle of the garden there is a very beautiful flower, the color is like it has been dripped with blood so it is very bright black. Oh, it's beautiful, but Mr. Gen isn't sure it's a death flower.

The Red Middlemist flower, as it is called, is, the flower has become the main tradition that their teachers always run every year to plant it so that the flower seems to dominate the garden throughout the academy with red shades—no one knows the true meaning of the tradition that's.

As for the orange flower it looked bright like it was becoming a king amongst the red sea, the Fire Lily Flower, looked smaller yet extremely poisonous. From rumors that have been crowded, he said this flower always grows on the sidelines of the rocks of the fort. Of course no one saw it, the fortress area was like an abyss of death to anyone. Not only that, there is a stranger thing—can be called a crazy thing—flowers can easily grow on the body of a rotting corpse!—if that's what's in the notebook.

They warned the academy students not to carelessly enter the forbidden zone, not just touch the fortress, trying to get close was already forbidden. It keeps everyone awake.

No one dared to pull the flower—even touch not— like a cursed flower that was destined alone. No grass grows close to him, even the Red Middlemist Flower that looked like a flower from the blood of death had enough distance for the three soles of the foot of the—entah could not get close or deliberately planted like that. No one knows who did it.

Slowly Mr. Gen went down the stairs by himself. He now carries a little offence because Rubby's wealth is not his own—all only limited to spoils. Dark-colored magnificent castle, a building once owned by a prominent schoolmaster who now knows where to be when he could have taken back all the treasures stored in this magnificent building before disappearing, but the truth is he left as if he didn't care.

It was hard to believe that even the most influential people disappeared without a trace like the other teachers. It is now fully controlled by Rubby as the seat of government. Indeed that was the man of silver hair, his greedy nature hiding behind his perfection!— lashed Mr Gen in heart with a sour face look.

The horse-drawn carriage seemed to be waiting, and the servant got down from the coachman's place to welcome me into the carriage. He opened the horse carriage door and bowed respectfully. "Please come in, Mr. Gen."

Mr. Gen returned the courtesy with a smile of gratitude without saying a word. Suddenly right behind Mr. Gen someone called out to him. Mr. Rom, somehow he came to stop Mr. Gen from leaving immediately. Mr. Gen was troubled by his presence. "What is your business here?"

Mr. Rom just smiled. "No, I just wanted to meet my old friend. I've been worried for a long time, thankfully you survived. Mr. Gen."

Those words were truly despicable in the ears of Mr. Gen. "Don't joke, Mr. Rom. You always do, say fake."

His smile turned into a smile of oppression. "Oh so, sorry. I was just kidding. People like you aren't interested in that treatment, not weird either."

Mr. Gen returned those eyes. "What's wrong? There's no way you've come just to say that. I hate to say it, but you're not the one who spends time on waste."

Momentarily Mr. Rom laughed. "It could be your humor! Know a lot too." His laughter slowly faded away changing into a serious look back, "I want you to stop by my castle this afternoon as well."

"Oh yeah? What's the need all of a sudden?"

"There's something we need to talk about."

"What if I reject your wish?"

A little upset, but Mr. Gen managed to keep his own feelings awake in the calm. His clenched hand since then slowly weakened. "Currently, are you threatening me?"

Mr. Rom just smiled. "Is that so? I'm just trying to take you."

Shit, this is bad— thought Mr. Gen. If if you really choose to refuse, it will be Mr. Gen. Actually Mr. Rom was a rude person from a long time ago, but he was not the type to finish off his opponent when he was in the nest—at least this is what Mr. Gen knows. Besides it feels tiring when fighting, the possibility of winning is very small. Soon Mr. Gen ended the raging thought. "Oke—oke alright! I accept your offer!"

The masked man carrying Mr. Gen walked into a newly arrived horse carriage right stopped behind Mr. Gen's carriage. The door was opened by the masked man. He did it like Mr. Gen—'s servant was very polite, opened the door, then took it easy, saying, "Please come in, sir."

But Mr. Gen doesn't heed that. He was so upset that he looked at the mask with a cynical look, though he did not say a word. Mr. Gen, then followed by Mr. Rom, they both immediately entered the horse carriage and left the dark castle and the beautiful garden.
