Azur Lane: Silent Service

Azur Lane: Silent Service
Chapter 1 - The First Quest

Someone once said to me, “Sometimes, reality feels very strange but it always happens.”

That's what I'm going through right now, who would have thought if I were reborn into a submarine. To put it mildly, the submarine I'm referring to here is a nuclear-powered attack submarine.

At first, I denied all this and thought all of this was just a hallucination to death. However, a small incident made me realize this bitter reality. I was born as a submarine that has a male form of personification.

Well... If you understand my words. Supposedly, a ship has a call in the form of “Her” that leads to the female gender. Why women? Because to take care of one ship is like supporting a woman who needs a lot!

Uh! put that aside. Let's focus on the problem that is happening to me. In short, I was born into a male submarine in the world of Azur Lane.

Why do I sound so sure?

Well, look at this!

Why did I receive such a dangerous Quest? That's because I don't have any ammunition! Just imagine! An advanced weapon that has no bullets to fire. Feels very futile, doesn't it? That's what I'm going through!

At the very least, having undergone the Daily Quest given by the mysterious screen had guaranteed my ammo supply. Following the siren convoy from a depth of 800* is a very easy matter. I could hear their water trail and they didn't hear my water trail. A very easy Quest for a stealth submarine like me.

...*Author Note: This unit uses "Foot" or depth of foot....

Suddenly my body felt a sonar beam penetrating my submarine.

Ughhhh... How do I explain it? It was like a human body being touched and caused a tingly feeling that flowed throughout the body.

Yep, more or less like that.

*Pying!!

*christ!!

*Thank!!

Eh? What's the matter? Why are so many sonar beams raining down on my submarine? Ughhhh... Please stop that, pervert ship! Eh? I have a right to say that, right?

Out of curiosity, I began to rise to the depths of 400. Right at the depth of 500, I could hear the sound of water trails like a sinking ship and water trails from a slowing siren convoy.

Erms... Did these sirens get a surprise attack from a distance? My passive sonar or submarine ear did not detect any surface objects other than the siren convoy.

Should I use active sonar? But, if I use active sonar. It was tantamount to showing my position and this Quest would fail.

After all, why would this Quest require me to “Undetected” anyway! I understand that the mobility of submarines is their existence which is difficult to detect. However, my extremely curious condition made me want to peek at what had happened on the surface.

Uh!

How stupid of me.

Why don't I use the periscope tube to examine the outside world.

Damnit damnit! As an advanced submarine, I've failed because it's so amateurish.

I immediately crawled into the depths of the periscope and stuck out my long periscope tube.

Getting to the periscope depth requires great effort and precision. If one steps alone, then the water trail from my submarine propeller will leave a trail of frothy water that will damage the Quest I am currently running.

[Silent Hunter Quest – Complete!]

Oh whoa!! Quest finished?

Eh? Why is this Quest over?

No, what happened?

The siren convoy I was following had sunk.

Eh?! Waita minute! If this Quest is completed after they drown. Do I have to follow them until they drown or disintegrate? Quest exhausting what it is!

Goddamnit! If only I had known, I would have drowned them to complete that Scam Quest.

Err... How do I sink a ship without a gun? Also true! I was too stupid to think about it. Following them to get ammo was a big advantage for me. Um! Also true! Let's just say it's good luck because they drown all of a sudden.

When my submarine's body was at periscope depth, I immediately raised my periscope tube to see the situation. The atmosphere above the water was just a convoy of sirens that were destroyed burning and slowly sinking. The dark night made me curious about the perpetrator who destroyed the siren convoy. For that, I immediately raised the mast radar tube and the esm mast to see the surroundings. I was very surprised by the situation around me. Around me were islands and other ships hiding from behind the island. The angle of fire from their position has explained the damage the siren convoy suffered.

Urm... I don't want to find trouble. So, I just recorded their ship's signature with mast radar and an esm mast.

Those hundreds of data flowed into my brain like a rushing waterfall. Has my brain developed into a genius?

The ships that are behind the island are KMS Bismarck, KMS Tirpitz, KMS Admiral Graf Spee, KMS U-30, HMS Spearfish, HMS Nelson, HMS Rodney, HMS Renown, HMS Prince of Wales, HMS Ark Royal, HMS Victorious, and HMS Hood.

Urm... What the fuck?! Why are there so many warships here? Could this island be a military base?

My mast radar and my esm mast captured a radio wave coming from one of the surface ships.

“Ark Royal, status update!”

“All on target, no sirens survived. Report finished!”

“Mission finished, back to main base!”

“Recommand accepted, Iron Blood will return to the main base!”

“Eh? You guys going back to the main base?”

“Un! The mission has been completed and our work to assist your military base has been done. Unlike you guys, our Admiral is very busy to suppress the siren attack.”

“Eeeh~ Our admiral is also equally busy. He even confined himself in the command room to devise a defense strategy without eating and drinking.”

“Heh, sounds like a very ambitious Admiral.”

“Bismarck, before you return to Iron Blood main base. Rest first, even if the history of our ship is hostile. It has nothing to do with the current situation. We have a special dish that will probably spoil your tongue. Have you ever tasted Royal Tea Party dishes before?”

“Ugh, Hood... I understand your good intentions but..”

“Royal Tea Party!”

“Eh? Who's that?”

Ermmm... It seems... I have opened my disguise. I did not expect that their conversation about “Royal Tea Party” managed to provoke my hunger. My submarine body may not need food but my personified body is capable of feeling hunger. My stomach rang after hearing “Royal Tea Party” and reflexively entered into their conversation.

From a distance, I could hear the sound of sirens and spotlights illuminating the night sky.

“Who are you? Why did you enter our communication network!”

“Hey! I know you still hear me!”

Well. rice has become porridge and my carelessness has dismantled my position.

“Ekhem! Introduce the... I'm the submarine USS Seawolf. Requesting permission to dock into a military base... Urhmm..”.

Yup, one mistake after another has piled up in front of me. I was silent to think about my next move.

“Submarine? where the hell are you? U-30 will pick you up.”

“Urm... Picking me? Least... Keep that big cannon of yours towards me.”

“Eh?!”

“Eeehh?”

“Eeeeehhhh?”

“Eh?”

With my luck dwindling, the spotlights from the KMS Bismarck ship began to shine on my periscope and radar tubes. My radar caught a number of small ships that were beginning to approach the body of my submarine.

“Ahhh..”.

Listen forced, I immediately appeared to the surface of the water and displayed the entire body of my submarine. For some reason, I was attacked by shame as if displaying indecent things in public.

Ugh. forget that.

I had to face the big problem that was in front of me.

If I hadn't been hooked on food, this kind of situation wouldn't have happened.

Urghs... This carelessness...

O me... Least... Try to be careful!
