Baby Amber

Baby Amber
Woman In Room

"Radit, what's wrong with you, son?" Ratih looks very agitated and anxious when he sees Radit's gaze is not as usual. Radit just stared at the window. His eyes did not blink even though Ratih had tried to shake his tiny body.

"Mas, Radit why is this?"

I didn't answer, I just looked at the window. Just like Radit is doing right now. I ventured to get closer, checking out what exactly was behind the window out there. I slowly opened the white curtain that closed the window. There's nothing out there. But Radit's eyes are still out there.

"Radite. Conscious, Son. It's Mother. You why?" Ratih is still trying to resuscitate Radit by holding and cuddling the figure of the pale-faced baby.

"Radise. You should be aware. She's not a human baby." I tried to persuade Ratih to make my wife realize that what she's been carrying all this time is a baby demon.

"What does Mas Hadi mean? Mas Hadi still thinks this Radit is not human? Just say Mas Hadi won't accept Radit as our son." I feel like everything went awry. On the one hand, I was afraid that I would have to let Ratih continue like this. Especially if you have to let Radit stay around us. Separating Radit from Ratih is like beating the drums of war against my wife.

"Sir, believe me the same. We're gonna take a kid from an orphanage whose origins are clearer. But not him." I said while looking at Radit who suddenly just cried loudly when I told him to take the child from the orphanage.

"That's it. It's selfish."

I took a deep breath and threw it away violently. I'm confused how. I also actually still feel confused by the truth of the people when I saw Ratih carrying a creepy doll, not carrying a baby. And one more woman who gives advice to take care of Radit because it is considered to bring good luck. But it is true that, since the arrival of Radit, my efforts have been smoother and more crowded. Every day our diners are always full.

That figure doesn't show up again. I again persuaded Ratih not to keep silencing me like this.

"Well, we take care of Radit. But I just wanted to ask you one thing, didn't you ever feel like Radit was different?" I patted my wife on the shoulder and chose to leave the room.

"Sprreeekkk .. srreeekkk ... srreeekkk...".

I glanced at the clock on the wall, just above the door to the kitchen. Half an hour and twelve nights. The atmosphere of the village is usually very quiet. Almost all the neighbors have fallen asleep because they are too tired to work all day. In addition, the distance of the house is not too close between one house and another.

"Srreeekkk... srreeekk..."

I got up from the chair, the creaking of the actual bench was not too tight, becoming even louder at midnight. I walked slowly towards the window. I peeked around the courtyard. Curious, who's this midnight sweeping the lawn. Is there no tomorrow.

A figure in a white dress was seen walking and disappearing behind the wall. It seemed like the figure was heading to the side of the house, where there was our room. The room I used to unwind with Ratih. Plus now there's Radit there. I tried to get into the room. I slowly opened the door for fear of waking up Ratih and Radit who might be sleeping.

Deeggs...

My heart was pounding hard at the sight I saw there. Cold sweat started flooding the body. The body feels shaky and lunglai. Train is sitting leaning against the wall of the bed. While the figure of the woman seemed to be holding and swinging a baby in her arms. Slowly the woman grabbed the baby I thought was Radit, and held the child in her arms.

Ratih simply fell silent and looked at the two. That expressionless face kept staring and was unaware of my arrival. That figure turned my back. He was busy petting and singing the bobby nina song to Radit. His voice that echoed, making goosebumps all over the body. Until finally the figure turned around and looked at me.

I fell down, my legs tripped by my own legs as I retreated in shock to see who the figure of the woman holding Radit was. The woman stopped singing. He walked towards Ratih and handed Radit to Ratih. And Ratih accepted it without any expression he showed. The woman looked at me, her pale face, half shattered, with the eyeballs almost popping out making me feel a limp sensation all over the body. Let alone to bully Ratih, to stand alone I feel unable to.
