Baby Amber

Baby Amber
Baby's Crying Voice

"Oooeeee .. oooeee ..." My footsteps stopped when the sound of a baby crying just entered the living room.

"Dik." call me soft on my wife Ratih.

Fear is that there are guests or friends of Ratih who visit to just play and bring a baby.

"Dik." again, I called my wife slowly. But there is also no answer I get.

My eyes widened when I saw a baby crawling quickly out of the room and looking at me. His sharp eyes looked as if they were drawing out right on both of my eyelids.

The baby quickly crawled up and approached me. It was circling under my feet and seemed to be sniffing my body. His white skin looked pale. Unlike human skin in general. I tried to touch it, cold. The coldness of the baby's body made me aghast and I spontaneously released my hand back from his tiny body. Reminds me of something I've touched long before.

"Mas." a clap made me aghast and immediately looked back.

"See what?"

I was asked just to look to the right and to the left looking for the baby.

"A. lt. That's."

But my two netraku no longer see the figure of a baby that had been circling my legs.

"Ta. earlier I heard a child crying" I hesitated. Ratih scrunched his forehead. His face looked puzzled, but then it turned into a wistful one.

"Sir, why are you suddenly moody?" I just feel guilty.

He didn't answer. He grabbed the bag in hand and helped me take off the shirt I was wearing.

"I'm sorry, Mas." whispered softly.

"Sorry for what, brother?"

"Mom.. That's not what it means, sister." I said really feel guilty.

"It's okay, Mom. It's only natural that you miss the sound of baby crying. Is it possible that you will remarry to get offspring?" the question of Rati was beyond belief. My tongue is not able to move. I can't even say a word to kill my wife Ratih. I was only able to fall silent and try to hug her.

"Mas didn't mean it that way, brother. It's just that, Mas actually heard the sound of the baby crying." I said earnestly trying to make Ratih believe what I heard earlier.

Now, Ratih looked confused. Even he seemed earnest that he did not hear what I was hearing either.

"There are no children here, Mas." said Ratih holding my hand tightly.

"What's wrong with you, brother?"

"Mas scares me" he said, making me feel the same way. I clearly saw a baby crawling out of the room and approaching me. Then it suddenly disappeared without a trace when Ratih came.

I tried to shake that fear. I asked Ratih to forget what I heard earlier. I didn't even tell you what I saw.

"Maybe a neighbor, Dik." Comfort me trying to melt the atmosphere that somehow explains it.

Gubbrraa...

I saw again a shadow coming into the room. We saw a small foot crawl quickly into our room.

"Astaghfirullah."

Ratih is not home. Looks like he went out when I accidentally fell asleep because I was tired all day at the diner. I tried to find that figure this time. All the corners of my room searched until finally a smile that I thought was able to make my hair stand plastered clearly from the reflection of the mirror of the closet. As fast as lightning I looked back. And sure enough, a pale-white little boy was sitting in the corner of the room and smiling smirked at me. I retreated slowly, but the small figure crawled closer to me. When I stopped, the little figure also stopped approaching me.

His face was pale, his eyes had a black circumference underneath. Her bluish lips made me guess that she wasn't okay.

"Hey, kid. What are you doing there?" I slowly approached while approaching him. That figure is just pecking. Not moving one bit. Even his eyes did not look at me. Irregular heart decubation as my position got closer to him. Even the baby did not flinch at my arrival. A grinning smile returned from the corner of his lips, making me careless to touch it.
