Baby Amber

Baby Amber
Chapter 44 The Strange Attitude of Train

I stammered when I heard Ratih's call. The look in his eyes made my heart beat faster. Added to the smell of jasmine flowers and also mementos and roses mixed into one, yelling, piercing my sense of smell.

"Yes, Brother."

"Don't Mas Hadi miss me?" ask Ratih in a spoiled voice. Another my wife this time. It doesn't seem like he usually acts like this. Especially at his parents' house. Usually Ratih will hesitate to show his affection in front of his Father's Mother.

"Dik." call me softly while stretching out Ratih's arms that feel tight in the chest.

"Hmmmmm..." Ratih simply replied with spoiled deheman.

"Ma-mas, I have to see you first." I tried to let go of Ratih's hand that was tightly coiled in my stomach. Let go slowly for fear of offending her. The face of Ratih changed. The dislike he showed when I forced him to meet the Father-in-law who was lying in the room.

"Patience, dear. Mas only for a moment." I said while standing and still smiling at Ratih. What a difficult dilemma to explain. I hurried to the room where my father-in-law was usually. Still with the same gaze, I looked towards Ratih who kept looking at my departure until I disappeared behind the bedroom door.

"Sir." I greet with reverence the hands of men who have given a living and cared for my wife from childhood to adulthood.

"Yes, Sir. Have you eaten?" I started the conversation with a little bit of stale on my Father-in-law. A little small talk that can entertain the Father who is now spending more of his daily time in bed. I just want to get Ratih to our house. I do not want to make Father and Mother feel burdened with the condition of Ratih that does not allow to remain with both parents. Although they were Ratih's own biological parents, now that responsibility has been handed to me. So it's impossible if I keep letting my wife be in this house with those who seem to be aging.

"Boyou want to come out?" I volunteered to take you out of the room. Hopefully you will be happy to breathe fresh outdoor air and can see the passing of vehicles and neighbors who are walking.

With a happy face, Father nodded in spirit. Immediately I bopong the old body and sit it in a rattan chair that has been designed in such a way and given a foam mattress so that you feel comfortable when relaxing outside the house.

She was apparently cooking in the kitchen. While Ratih just sat down and put on himself. Seen from the reflection of the glass on her dresser she smiled alone while combing her thinning hair. With a soft hum he seemed to occasionally stare at his own face in the mirror before him. I wiped the nape of my neck when we accidentally saw our eyes clashing. I don't know what I feel, but I feel my hair goosebumps when our two eyes collide with each other.

"Mas." suddenly Ratih got up from his chair as I was about to bring a warm drink to the Father in front. I automatically stopped my footsteps and let Ratih's hand slip spoiled on my arm carrying a tray and some snacks that my Father-in-law might like.

"Mas." he said spoiledly.

"Attep, yes, Brother. I want to bring this for you first." I tried to gently pull over Ratih's hand. I don't want to offend him which will ultimately lead to disappointment.
