That afternoon I went to the Mbah Trimo house. Armed with the advice of Mbah Sum, I intend to ask for an opinion also on Mbah Trimo.
"Is it really like that, Mbah?" I asked the figure of the old man in front of me after I told him everything that Mbah Sum said this afternoon.. Although she was still the same age as my mother, but because the neighbors around now used to call her "Chah", then I also participated in calling her with the same call.
"Hmmm..." Mbah Trimo just cleared his throat. But there were no words he could get out of his mouth.
"Change." call me again. I can't wait to hear the answer to my story. But the man did not answer, making me feel uneasy.
"Calm down, Di. Don't be so agitated like that." It's like knowing how I feel. Mbah Trimo patted my shoulder tightly making me a little aware of my mind that breezed me somewhere.
"I'm worried, Mbah. Honestly, I was afraid that I would make my family fall apart." I said, looking at the Saints who suddenly passed from the side of the house. The woman who had been my friend since childhood only nodded as our two eyes clashed against each other. I just nodded my head with a smile.
Suddenly my body felt a tremendous heat after the departure of Saints coming inside. I don't know what's wrong. I think that the afternoon even before this evening could not make my body become hot like this. I fanned out my palms hoping to reduce the heat that spread through every inch of my body. Mbah Trimo who realized the change in my behavior then immediately took the water that had been serving in the bale and immediately recited the prayer somehow into the drink.
"drink. Read as much Istighfar as possible." asked Mbah Trimo I did without asking much. The heat I felt overcame my curiosity about what was happening to me right now.
A horrible figure was standing beside the house. The figure of a woman who looks angry by showing her displeased face to me. The figure was standing right near the Saint who was petting his son. But Suci still looks calm while occasionally sounding humming from his mouth.
"That's it, i.." I pointed towards the figure standing. Apparently Mbah Trimo already knew about it. He asked Suci to bring Bowo, his son, to go inside. I don't know what Mbah Trimo did. His mouth is committed to reading a prayer that I do not know what his prayer is. All I know, Mbah Trimo asked the figure of the woman to go and stop bothering Suci and also her son. Long enough I saw Mbah Trimo as if he was negotiating with that figure. I who felt the heat all over the body only chose to see them solve the problem by flushing the mineral water that Mbah Trimo had put on the table.
"So, gohome. Maghrib soon." I was startled by the Mbah Trimo's voice that suddenly appeared near me. My eyes looked around, looking for the figure of the woman who had been with Mbah Trimo.
"Don't look for. Already, you just go home. Do not get close to any woman, the demon has already fallen in love with you. He's never happy to see you with any woman."
I had not had time to ask Mbah Trimo for an explanation, he even kicked me out to quickly go home because the day was almost dark.
"Quick Hadi. Before dark. Run if you have to." Mbah Trimo's message to me.
"This, take. Use it to mix your bath water" Mbah Trimo gives water in a bottle that is not full. As I recall, it was the water I used to splash my head on as my body felt like it was on fire earlier. But now it's back to how it was.
My steps stopped while passing the banana garden owned by a neighbor who had long been abandoned by the owner. I remember a time when I was just circling around here when it was still day. Back I also remembered the message of Mbah Trimo at that time, to not look back no matter what happened. Now I do the same. But Mbah Trimo did not order anything except to quickly arrive home before evening.
I touched the nape of the neck that felt cramped suddenly. The atmosphere around was already very quiet. The houses of residents who are a good distance from each other already look lonely. All the doors and windows are closed. Even the bulb lights that they usually use to provide a little lighting for their home porch have been turned on. No less also the street lights are deliberately installed by residents to illuminate throughout the journey. Although the street lights in the village are not as bright and as big as in the city, but at least it can reduce the horror for anyone who passes.
The rain suddenly fell. Accompanied by the breeze of the night that began to crawl swept through my body that was walking fast. At the end of the street, there was an electric pole not far from my house. Only a few meters away and I'll be home.
Srreessee...
Lightning seemed to strike, making the earth momentarily bright. A woman stands under an electric pole under the rain. I watched from a distance. The woman did not move in the slightest, even the figure did not seek protection from the heavy drizzle. I reduced the speed of my footsteps. Examine to determine who is now standing under the power pole.
"Astaghfirullah." That's all I've been able to say many times. Immediately I bowed my head and I accelerated my footsteps. Passing through the figure just like that and running back to get home immediately. My right hand was still holding the half-filled water bottle. While my left hand holds the chest to neutralize the increasingly irregular heartbeat.
"Assalamu'alaikum." I pushed the front door after saying my regards. Looks like Mom's still wrapped in mucus appearing from behind the door of the room.
"How, Di? What does Mbah Trimo say?" ask Mom while holding my wrist. I shrugged my shoulders while exhaling a rough breath. I drop this body weight in the bale where I usually rest during the day. Mom rushed to the back to boil the water.
"So confused, ma'am." I said to Mother who had returned from behind. Now I think he has released and kept it in his room.
I told you everything that happened to me when I was at Mbah Trimo's house. From the moment I accidentally sat with Saints to my body that suddenly felt hot as if it was burning.
