Baby Amber

Baby Amber
Miracle

Patty seemed to love the baby very much. Even from the moment he woke up, it was the only baby that he had timang-timang. Maybe because so happy because all this time we have not been given a baby.

"Sir, I'm cooking. You have breakfast there, Mas wants to go to the restaurant." said Radih pepper.

"When do you want to open that restaurant, Mas? We just sell the restaurant, it's quiet now." said Ratih while sitting next to me who was sipping the remaining remnants of sweet tea.

"Patience, Mother. Selling a place is not as easy as selling basic goods. After all, in a difficult time like today. Who wants to buy an old building and deserted visitors like today." I explained to my wife hoping she would understand that I was still hard pressed to take off the restaurant we had built with great difficulty. Sure enough, our restaurant was originally an old building belonging to a friend of Ratih's father. Because it was abandoned, finally bought and we renovated it ourselves. Initially crowded, but because of the pandemic and difficult. Our restaurant was also affected. Visitors began to be quiet, sometimes even no one came to visit for a few days. Some of our employees have to be home. Even to this day, only me and one of my confidants remain.

I saw Ibra wiping tables and chairs. Even though he knew what it would be like today, he still did the job every day.

"Morning, sir." said as he watched me enter the restaurant.

I rushed to the kitchen, to check the remaining foodstuffs that were still suitable for use. Vegetables that have withered usually I immediately throw away. I don't even dare to save a lot of food because I know how it will be. Normally Ibra would ask me to bring her home to her family. He will gladly accept all of this. Ibra who still had to send his only brother, added he was one of the backbone of the family who had to support his sister and mother because his father had long died.

"Already, Sir. Early this morning the new pass opened there were two customers coming to eat at our restaurant." Ibra's smile expands perfectly. It was obvious that happiness was on his face. It has long been no service to customers who come this early to eat here. I was no less happy to hear the words of my employees.

I came home late today. This happy news I will tell Ratih when he gets home later. No wonder where, today the restaurant selling sweet. Even so crowded, I also intervened to serve customers who stopped to eat. Usually I will only cook because I opened this restaurant to hone the cooking skills I gained while working at Bu Sofi's restaurant first.

"Oh yeah, how's Bu Sofi doing?" I suddenly thought of my former boss who I actually thought was weird. I also remember helping him make a nursery while he had no children at his age who had begun to enter an unproductive age again.

"Maybe he adopted a child" I thought at the time. But what's weird is why I didn't let me tell anyone, even to a fellow employee who worked together at Bu Sofi's restaurant at the time.

I intend to stop by Bu Sofi's restaurant sometime while inviting Ratih and also the child who is currently in our house. I also met Ratih there. All nostalgia, who knows Bu Sofi still remembers me.
