Joining a party

After performing disguise magic, I appeared in a dark, narrow alley. I already knew the ins and outs of this city well, so I did not need a map and casually I walked in the middle of the city.

My current destination is the guild, I remember a woman inviting me to join her party. He said I could find him in the guild.

I opened the guild door and the tall lady who invited me to join her party immediately greeted me.

"Have you decided?" tanyanya.

I stared at him for a while then replied, "I'll join in"

Hearing my reply, the woman exclaimed happily and immediately pulled my hand to go to the second floor.

There I saw some people gathered but I knew they were different from the people below. Their weapons, their clothes, signified that they had different levels.

"This is our party!" the woman smiled showing her white teeth.

"Is he a new party member?!" A big man looked at me excitedly.

The party was 4 people, a large-bodied man was playing the role of a tanker, there was a blonde woman holding a bow, and a small short girl was using a magic wand.

"Oh I forgot to introduce my name, my name is Jeanne I'm a warrior" the woman who invited me to join introduced me.

"I'm Frank, a tanker" He gave me a proud and confident smile.

"Nan, as I look archer" Nan, the blonde-haired woman showed me her bow.

"Meriel, mage" the little girl gave a brief greeting. I looked at her, this girl, is she strong? Too bad I can't use the devil's eyes.

"I'm Lucy, I hope we can work well together in the future" I introduced myself kindly.

"Can you take off your cloak?" Nan asked curiously. Oh, I forgot. After hearing his question, I opened my cloak and the faces of those people except Meriel froze like a fool.

"You're so handsome! Man, I'm really envious" Frank gave me a compliment then embraced me.

"Should we complete the mission together?" Jeanne asked, everyone nodded and agreed.

"Since Lucy has just joined, let's take an easy mission" Jeanne explained as we descended the stairs.

"Let's take this mission, to oversee the Fancy Lagoon Covert forest road route. The route was cleared of monsters, so we just need to keep an eye on her" Jeanne took the mission to the announcement and took it to the reception desk. The receptionist put a red stamp on the mission paper.

"Let's go now"

In a merchant carriage, we reached the forest of Fancy Lagoon Covert.

The forest was vast, luminous, and prosperous. The trees with lush leaves lined up neatly and the glittering sunlight passing through the tree branches made it shine a light on the green grass that covered the ground.

The mixed sounds of the unknown creatures were mutual and echoed in the air, occasionally the sound was muffled by the sound of the wind hitting the trees and sweeping the leaves. Even so, this forest is very beautiful.

"The monsters here are pretty weak so you don't have to worry" Frank patted me on the shoulder and then walked in front. I followed from behind. They exchanged stories, I just listened while looking at the forest scenery.

From their story, this forest will be one of the new routes to connect the two kingdoms. Until a few months ago before I appeared in this world, adventurers were tasked with clearing out some monsters that might disrupt the route and leave only weak monsters. Quite cruel, I feel the sound of monsters that continue to echo in this forest is the sound of sadness.

"Lucy, did I hear you were from the Salleria kingdom?" Nan asked to break my daydream.

"Yes" I answered briefly.

"Wahhh besides being handsome, you come from a prosperous kingdom as well. Hahh I really envy you" Frank held his head pretending to be pathetic.

Were those bandits from the kingdom of Salleria? I don't think it's possible, maybe they just got it from the guy they've robbed.

A strange voice stopped my steps, I saw another party member who didn't seem to hear that voice. I frowned and walked back.

「Master there is demonic energy here!」Uriel reported with vigor.

Whahuh? I stopped my steps again. In here?! I didn't expect to get that much information right now. Anyway, let's check later. I still don't want to resurrect anyone for now, given the events in the West Rock Covert forest, I know that there's someone behind all this. So I don't want to be rash.

"What are you daydreaming about, let's go"

"Yes I'm gone" I answered quickly and followed them back.

Well it's quite convenient, to do nothing. I was also afraid that I could not control my strength, it would be a problem if they suspected me.

Hearing that voice come back, I frowned. I really should check this forest back later.

I looked for the origin of the sound and then I saw an invisible little cave covered in leaves and vines.

"The sound is from there" I pointed at the cave, Jeanne and Frank nodded and approached the small cave. Nan pulled a bow and arrow ready to launch at any time. Meriel has also cast a spell.

Jeanne slashed the vines until we finally saw what the cave was hiding inside.

"Centipede Egg!" Meriel exclaimed in shock.

"What?!"

"We have to report this quickly to the guild" Jeanne said calmly.

"Let's go back!" continued.

I don't understand why they make such a fuss.

"Uriel, is Centipede so powerful?" I asked curiously.

「They are so weak! They cannot even be compared to dust though」Uriel replied with disdain.

I shouldn't have asked him.

"It's your first mission with our party, but you've been in big trouble" Jeanne said regretfully.

"No problem, I thought it would be a good experience for me" I smiled kindly at him.

"Really! With this we will become stronger. Let's face this together and shine in the future!" Frank gives the spirit.

I don't think we can shine together, I'm sure if they find out that I'm a demon they'll hate me. The humans in this world are like that, they hate something different from them.

After Lucifer and his new party left the forest, the voice came back.

"Have those humans left?" A man's voice sounded.

"Yes, but I feel someone who is not human among them. And that guy is very strong, really strong. I have a feeling that person can help us" This time the voice of the woman answered.

"I hope he can help us"

the voice then sank and disappeared in the depths of the forest.
