Dark Elves

I kept watching the stupidities of the humans but something I didn't expect to happen. The disguised dark elf suddenly recited a huge spell. My eyes widened slightly, anticipating his actions.

A BANG!

After the spell was over, a black light speeding forth fiercely smashed into the disgusting large body of centipede. The centipede's body was hollow, the green blood spurting from his body making him look even more disgusting.

「Why did the girl even help them!」Uriel yelled in my head in annoyance, damn it! my head was buzzing because of his screams! This little stupid system.

"He's just as stupid as you"

「Aaack! Your master really hurts me. I'll sulk!」Uriel said sadly, her childish voice making her sound like a child being abused.

"just sulk" I said indifferently, as if today would be a peaceful day.

By the way I looked back at Meriel, after giving off such a large amount of magic power his body looked limp and his face was also very pale.

"Groan!" Jeanne screamed and propped up Meriel's nearly fallen body. I also quietly descended and appeared among the adventurers without arousing suspicion.

"Are you guys okay?" Jeanne asked after seeing the arrival of the other party members.

"We're fine" Some people replied and everyone was finally able to breathe with relief.

"By the way Meriel I didn't know you were so strong!" Frank said excitedly, he really can't read the situation.

"Well, your strength is comparable to the mage of the royal army" Nan then coughed after saying so.

"We'd better get back to town soon" Jeanne interrupted their conversation and we all nodded in agreement.

We then returned to the carriage and I silently stared at Meriel. His power is beyond my expectations. Yes he is indeed stronger than the Centipede that Astaroth brings, but I didn't expect him to be able to defeat Belphegor's creatures so easily. He's pretty amazing.

"Yo Lucy where are you hiding? I didn't see you at all when we were fighting against that giant centipede" Frank asked as he looked at me suspiciously. Damnit damnit! He realized!

I gulped then replied "I'm in the back"

"Oh really?" He asked back and I just nodded small.

"I wouldn't blame you if you were hiding, after all you're just a newbie" Frank smiled showing his teeth. I just replied with a slightly awkward smile then turned my attention back to that dark elf.

After we got to the city they rented an inn and we ate at the tavern while Meriel fell asleep at the inn.

"Woah you really eat so gracefully Lucy. Were you previously a noble's son?" Frank's bothering me again. The only annoying person in this party was him.

"That's basic etiquette when eating, you're the one who's eating so disgusting Frank" Nan defended me and I was finally able to eat in peace.

Oh yes I forgot Uriel who was sulking.

"Uriel" I'm calling in secret.

「Huhuhu you completely forgot me master」Uriel said pitifully.

"Aren't you sulking?" I tease.

「No! I'm not so sulking」Uriel said back in a regretful tone.

"That's good, even if you're stupid. You're pretty useful"

「!!!」

「B-really? Am I useful?」His heart really changed quickly.

"Yes" I replied lazily.

「Fufufu, I am indeed the best system in the world!」He shouted with pride.

"How's the dark elf girl doing?" I asked without making small talk.

「He just ran out of nowhere! You don't have to worry about those stupid dark elves master」

After we finished eating, we returned to the inn. While Jeanne went to the guild to take the rewards.

"Look! We're getting a lot of money!" Jeanne returned with 2 small bags of gold coins.

"Whoah! The money!"

"We'll divide it evenly okay! 90 Coins will be divided by 5 so that each of us will get 18 gold coins. Oh and the guild gave an additional 10 gold coins to Meriel for his contribution" Jeanne explained as she handed out the gold coins.

"Irinya~" Frank is back.

"Hey! You saw what Meriel did for us!" Nan finally couldn't bear to scold Frank.

"Yes, I was just kidding"

"All of you rest for a few days. We will meet again in the guild 5 days from now" Jeanne said calmly, she is the party leader so everyone listened to her well.

"I'll go" I then spoke, it's already night. I have to go back before Astaroth looks for me or I will be in big trouble!

After coming out of the inn I immediately searched for a quiet alley and transported to my room. Seeing that there was no one there I sighed with relief and immediately changed my clothes.

I opened my door slowly.

"My lord" Astaroth smiled as he greeted me.

This scoundrel! Is he waiting all the time in front of my room?!

Ekhem, I coughed to remove my awkwardness then asked Astaroth.

"Do you want to report something?"

"Yes, Belphegor reported that the golems he had scattered in the forest were missing"

"missing? Not dead?" I asked back.

"He still felt that the golem he created was alive but could not detect it" I frowned at this answer. Gone off? Elves alone could not handle a single golem he created, who could steal the golem? I put those thoughts aside for now.

"What's the development of demonic energy in the Fancy Lagoon Covert forest?" Astaroth looked surprised as soon as I asked this. Why is he surprised? I was a little confused but didn't ask.

"A-ah sorry but I haven't gotten any leads on the matter yet" she lowered her head as she answered this. Is he feeling sad?

"No problem, you don't have to rush"

Astaroth returned to his study after reporting everything that had happened to his master but he was currently in a headache. For the first time, he lied to his master.

He was filled with guilt, yet he was completely reluctant if the suspicious demon was awakened.

After a while, the door opened. Asmodeus and Belphegor walked in without any manners and sat down to his feet on the sofa. Astaroth sighed at the disrespectful behavior of the two comrades.

"At least knock on the door first" Astaroth clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"Quick what you want to say!" Asmodeus said impatiently.

"On the demonic energy said my lord in the forest of the Fancy Lagoon Covert. I think the devil is Abaddon"

The eyes of Asmodeus and Belphegor sharpened upon hearing the words of Astaroth.

"That bastard!"
