One day on a peaceful farm, Bertie Duck and Andy's Chicken were sitting under a large oak tree. Summer has arrived, and unfortunately, the mosquitoes also come in large numbers. Bertie's duck flapped its wings in frustration.
Bertie: "They're really annoying mosquitoes, Andy! They always bite me in the middle of the night. What do we do?"
Andy's cock scratched his hairy head with one claw and said, "I don't know, Bertie, but we have to figure out a way to drive them away without making a big fight."
They both started thinking. Then, Bertie got a clever idea.
Bertie: "Andy, why don't we try to wear masks like humans? That would leave the mosquitoes confused!"
Andy: "Mask like a human? You do have a crazy idea, Bertie, but maybe it's worth a try."
So, they went to the warehouse where they found an old mask left behind by humans. Bertie chose a mask that looked the funniest, with a long nose and big eyes. The two of them put on the mask and walked out with confidence.
As they walked into the fields, the mosquitoes were immediately shocked to see Bertie Duck and Andy Chicken wearing masks like humans. They shouted with enthusiasm.
Bertie (in a serious tone): "We are the masters of this farm! We are the new humans here, and we will not tolerate these mosquitoes!"
Andy: "We're going to kick you all out!"
The mosquitoes are really confused. They had never seen ducks and chickens like this before. They also immediately fled.
Bertie and Andy laughed cheerfully.
Bertie: "It worked, Andy! They are afraid of humans. Now we can enjoy this farm without being bothered by the mosquitoes."
The two of them continued to wear masks like humans every time they were outside, and the mosquitoes stayed away. However, they do not realize that their ridiculous plan becomes a laughing stock for the other animals on the farm.
Kelly's cat looked at them and said with a joke, "Hey, look! New humans on our farm. They must be funny!"
Bertie and Andy are trying to carry out the human role well. They spoke in a hoarse voice and shook their hands like humans. But they often fall or misstep, making other animals laugh out loud.
All the animals on the farm came in droves to watch this funny show. Even the Cow Sarah, who was usually calm, laughed out loud.
Sarah's cow (while laughing): "You two are really entertaining, Bertie and Andy! How does it feel to be human?"
Bertie (in a serious tone): "It's a tough job, Sarah. But, we did it for the peace of our farm."
Andy: "We are the protectors of this farm!"
After a few weeks, the mosquitoes did feel confident enough to return to the farm. They have longed for the delicious blood they find on the animals there. However, what they did not expect was that Bertie Ducks and Andy Chickens were still wearing their human masks.
As the sun sets in the western horizon, the mosquitoes gather and plan their night raids. They knew that fighting Bertie Duck and Andy's Chicken would be futile, but they felt confident that the animals were just joking with their masks.
Mosquito 1: "We must infiltrate slowly and show them that we are not afraid of the masks."
Mosquito 2: "Right, we have to bite them, then they'll know that we're still strong."
Of course, the mosquitoes don't know that Bertie and Andy actually don't know how to be human properly. They walked around the farm with their masks, spoke in hoarse voices and tried to play the role as best they could.
However, they often fall, stumble, or make funny moves. The other animals on the farm, who had watched this funny show a few weeks earlier, were delighted to see it again.
Cat Kelly: "Oh, this is gonna be so funny! Our new humans will do the show again."
Sarah's cow: "I almost forgot how comforting they were, Kelly."
Bertie and Andy walked around the farm with their masks and spoke in a hoarse voice that created a comical tone.
Andy: "Good night, we are the new humans on this farm, and we are the rulers here."
Bertie: "We're going to kick you all out! Ahaha!"
The other animals laughed at their silly actions. Even Dave's usually calm dog laughed along.
Dave: "They are great comedians, no one can emulate a mask like that!"
They gather over the farm fence and prepare to land on Bertie's Duck and Andy's Chicken. However, as they approached, they could not help but laugh. Bertie and Andy look really cute in their masks.
Mosquito 1: "Hey, look at them! They really look ridiculous."
Mosquito 2: "This is the best comedy show I've ever seen."
None of the mosquitoes actually bite. They just fly around Bertie and Andy, crashing around all the time. Bertie's Duck and Andy's Chicken don't know what's going on. They both thought that they had managed to repel the mosquitoes, when in fact the mosquitoes just laughed looking at them.
The night passed without any of the mosquitoes biting the animals on the farm. Bertie and Andy were proud of their success and went to bed with smiles on their faces. They believed that their human masks actually managed to repel the mosquitoes.
However, the next morning, when they woke up, they found several mosquito bites on their bodies. They're confused.
Bertie: "Andy, I feel like I was bitten by a mosquito last night."
Andy: "I feel it too, Bertie. What's going on?"
They went out and asked the other animals if they saw the mosquitoes last night. All the animals just laughed at their masks and said that they had seen the ridiculous show.
Bertie and Andy begin to suspect that something is strange. They decide to find out why they were bitten, even though their human masks look ridiculous.
Meanwhile, the mosquitoes gather again and laugh at the animals on the farm. They are happy to bite these animals and still feel strong.
Mosquito 1: "They may look stupid in those masks, but we know that we can bite them!"
Mosquito 2: "Today we will eat all their blood!"
As Bertie and Andy try to figure out what's really going on, they run into Kelly's Cat. They asked him if he saw what happened last night.
Kelly: "Of course I saw it. That's the best comedy show ever on this farm!"
Bertie: "But we were bitten by mosquitoes, Kelly. What's wrong?"
Kelly smile.
Kelly: "You don't know? Those mosquitoes are actually laughing at you, not because you kicked them out. Your human masks are too funny!"
Bertie and Andy were embarrassed. They had no idea that they had actually become a laughing stock for the mosquitoes. They also laugh at themselves.
Andy: "So, we're not actually repelling mosquitoes?"
Kelly: "No, they're still here, and they're gonna bite us again."
Bertie: "What should we do now?"
Kelly gave them the idea.
Kelly: "Maybe it's time to find another way to repel mosquitoes, which doesn't involve silly masks."
Bertie and Andy agree. They removed their human masks and decided to find a more effective way to keep mosquitoes away from the farm.
They tried various things, such as lighting anti-mosquito candles and using mosquito nets. They also ask for advice to other animals on the farm.
Dave's dog: "We could grow some plants known as natural mosquito repellents."
Cattle Sarah: "Or, we can enlist the help of insectivorous birds to help control the mosquito population."
With the help of all the animals on the farm, Bertie and Andy manage to find an effective way to control the mosquito population. They can finally enjoy peace on the farm without being disturbed by the mosquitoes.
When summer ends, the mosquitoes leave by themselves, without having to be herded by Bertie Duck and Andy's Chicken. They have learned that the human masks are a silly show that is best avoided. Bertie and Andy laugh at their adventures and appreciate the advice of their friends on the farm.
And there you have it, Duck Bertie and Chicken Andy learn that sometimes, the best way to deal with problems is in a wiser way than trying too hard to be funny. The farm remained peaceful, and all the animals there remained united in their happiness.
