Butterfly In You
Chapter 10: Meeting an Ex-Wife

A man was massaging his temple gently while relaxing his tired back on the back of the chair. The endless clockwork creaks filled the void of the work space inhabited by the man.

Shehan, the man who was there was busy closing his eyes. Light massages are still done around the forehead area. Both of his eyes were closed and the movement of his bust was regular. Though the clock has shown at 22.14 WITA before midnight. However, he had just finished checking three documents of work that he could not finish in the office. Shehan is a hard worker.

Angan Shehan calmed down after relaxing for a few minutes. He intends to go rest in the bedroom soon. But apparently the intention had to be postponed because his salary lying on the desk next to the pile of documents he checked earlier suddenly rang.

Ddrrc ... Ddrrc ... Ddrrc ....

Shehan's cradle split, startling the man. The tail of his light brown bead glanced at the screen of the now brightly lit device. His massage at the temple came to a halt.

'Who are these nights calling me?' lamented Shehan, has not intended to reach the device that is still ringing. Shehan did not even rub it until the fourth ring rang. His right hand moved. When he saw the photo of the caller that appeared on the screen, Shehan was stunned.

If he had known that the caller was Sarah, his ex-wife, Shehan would not have let him wait long. On the second ring Shehan must have answered the phone call. Immediately Shehan's thumb shifted the sign of receiving the call on the screen.

"Hello, Sarah." Shehan's intonation is smooth, as smooth as silk.

"Shehan, I'm sorry I called you at this hour. Am I bothering you?" While driving the car, Sarah's reply was no less gentle.

"Oh, not Sarah. I'm not sleepy either."

Five seconds ago, Shehan yawned, going to sleep because his eyes were drowsy. When she found out Sarah had contacted her, Shehan's drowsiness suddenly disappeared somewhere. His voice became fresh when talking to his ex-wife.

"What's all of a sudden calling, Sarah?" shehan continued again.

"How are you?"

"I'm good, Sarah. How about you and Jody?"

"We're both fine too. Oh yeah, is Nurbanu asleep?"

"It has. You know at nine o'clock he has to go to sleep."

"It's good that Lilis also disciplined him. How's the girl doing?"

A moment Shehan was silent, remembering his babysitter.

"Lilis is good, Sarah."

"It's been almost two weeks that I haven't contacted him to ask about Nurbanu. Shehan, I want to tell you that I'm going to Bali tomorrow with Jody. So I want to take Nurbanu to stay with me while I'm in Bali."

Shehan's long breaths were out. She accepted Sarah's request because she was her daughter's real mother. "What time is your flight tomorrow?"

"Not in a hurry, I'll take a day flight. Besides, Jody came with me because she wanted to take a vacation while I was visiting my boutique in Bali."

"How long have you lived in Bali?"

"Not long, Shehan. It's only a week because Jody's busyness is also dense. Moreover, he just got an offer to act in a movie."

"I happen to have something to talk to you about, Sarah."

"What's that?" Sarah enthusiastic.

"I ...."

Shehan pauses for worry. What would Sarah react to when she was honest. Meanwhile, across from Sarah, I can't wait for the continuation of Shehan's words.

"I'm getting married, Sarah."

"What! Really?" So loud sahutan surprised Sarah. "Really Shehan? With who?"

"Tomorrow I'll meet you and talk about it."

Shehan is shackled by insecurity. Especially if Sarah knows who the future wife will be.

"I'm so impatient!" Sarah whines spoiled.

"Can we have lunch together tomorrow. I'll just take a morning flight so we can meet soon" the woman said excitedly.

Sarah has always been friendly to Shehan even though they were once a divorced married couple. Shehan is considered a friend, and the two have never been hostile towards each other. No wonder Sarah and Shehan remain compact to take care of Nurbanu in turn.

"Well, you won't have a problem taking a morning flight?"

"Of course not. I'll book my ticket and Jody's ticket tonight."

"But, Sarah ...."

"Yes, what's wrong, Shehan? Just say it."

"Can we just be the two of us having lunch. Because I want to talk to you four-eyes."

"No problem, Shehan. Jody would have no objections either."

"Yes, don't forget to come to our favorite restaurant, yeah!"

"Yes, Sarah."

"Bye, Shehan!"

"Bye!"

Tut ... Tut ... Tut ....

The conversation was finally over. Shehan is still living up to Sarah's photo that appears in the profile section of her contact number. Intentionally he lingered on her, wanting to let go of that incompetent longing for the beautiful woman.

**

Tomorrow afternoon.

Sarah's shadow reflected on a small powder box mirror. He had just swept a sponge that had previously been applied to the surface of the powder around the cheeks, forehead and chin. The nude color lipstick adorns her lips. A thin smile also expands there.

Dressed in a tight-fitting, pangalai dress, Sarah sits gracefully crossing her legs on one of four chairs that circle the dining table in a round shape. Her smooth thigh skin was exposed. A pair of black stilettos adds a charming impression to both legs.

No!

Sarah closed her powder box after being convinced the makeup on her face was perfect. The small box was then plastered into a handbag containing Sarah's other personal belongings.

Not long after, the one that the woman was waiting for arrived. As usual, Shehan's appearance always looks dashing and dignified in an executive coat. He walked with a straight look at one goal, Sarah.

"Shehan!"

A wave of Sarah's hand went on the air several times, accompanying her wide smile. Not for a minute, Shehan had managed to reach the round table that had been inhabited by Sarah.

"Sorry, I just came." Shehan greeted as he published a smile of apology.

"Just calm! I haven't been here long either."

Sarah got up, landed her cheeks to both sides of Shehan's cheeks, right and left. Sarah's shadow of beauty blotted out in Shehan's twinkle of eyes after the two warm greetings ended.

'Sarah is always beautiful as before.' Shehan's inner voice is hissing when he meets his ex-wife again.

"Please sit down, Shehan!" Sarah's right hand pointed at the chair in front of her.

"Thank you."

The chair, which was appointed earlier, was pulled out from under the table by Shehan. The man then sat there majestically.

"Have you ordered food?"

"Not yet."

Shehan's gaze did not blink at Sarah who was then calling the waitress while raising her hand.

"Waitner!"

A waitress who was near the bartender's desk looked back. Next he took the menu book from the bartender's table and went to Sarah and Shehan's table.

"Good day, sir, Madam! Please order food and drinks."

The menu book that was brought, placed on the guest table. Soon the ex-husband and wife grabbed it. Together choose food from the menu book that is in their hands.

Sarah's eyeballs rolled, sorting the food choices written in order from top to bottom. He also ordered his favorite food. Shehan only pretends to look at the menu, but none of the food he chooses.

"What did you order, Shehan?"

Shehan pressed both shoulders while closing the menu book. "Eitherway! I don't know what to order."

Sarah was confused. "Why is that? It's not our two favorite restaurants. Lots of your favorite food here."

"Can you order it for me?"

Sarah's cheerful roar was created, returning Shehan's shahdu gaze. "All right, I'll impress."

Sarah granted Shehan's request by ordering the man's favorite meal.

'It turns out you still remember my favorite food.'

Shehan bent his face slightly. Behind that bend, silently both ends of her lips lifted upwards, forming a knotty smile.
