Chasing the Love of Alex

Chasing the Love of Alex
Ciao Milan's

The next morning Sonya and Alex depart from Lake Como to the fashion city of Milan. The city does not have much Roman heritage as in Lake Como, modern buildings are seen more in this city.

Along the way to central Milan, buildings are decorated with thousands of wreaths, there are presepios in shop windows, and Christmas trees are scattered in almost every corner of the city elegantly.

The hotel is not far from the Cathedral Square of Piazza del Duomo, where the new year's welcoming event will be held. We spent ten minutes walking from the hotel.

Around the hotel there are many cafes and restaurants, but only a few are open, and the price rises to two to three times the usual price during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

After lunch, Alex invites Sonya to see the Duomo in Milano. This Gothic Catholic church was built in the fifth century, and can accommodate up to forty thousand people.

Many sellers peddled items such as tongsis, children's toys, bracelets and bird food, around the church at prices that made the head shake. And the way they offered was the same as Sonya's time in Paris, half pushy.

The stage for the night is also already standing majestically in the square, and many Christmas trees are decorated with red ribbons, and flowers under the Christmas tree. There is a small greenhouse, which tells about the visit of the Magi to Jesus Christ.

Under the tree is also a flower bed, as well as Venetian lions dressed in New Year hats and beards made of cotton.

There are also food stands that sell colorful crackers. Fresh drinks and traditional cakes are offered to hikers, such as pannetone, richarelli, torreno and Italian wines.

And there are also those who dance with a dance to ward off evil spirits.

Satisfied by the town square, Alex and Sonya enter the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Elite shopping malls in Milan. Inside lined elegant looking shops, bars, restaurants and cafes. This Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II connects two of Milan's most famous landmarks, the Duomo and the Teatro Alla Scala.

Galleria with a glass dome as its roof is a warehouse for branded goods such as LV, Prada, and so on.

Usually in the run-up to Christmas and New Year, stores will be heavily discounted, but it turns out that Boxing Day culture is not applicable in Milan. Even most stores are closed, except for some premium stores, although there are no discounts, but still, many tourists are shopping crazy.

Alex also bought Sonya one of the bags branded even though Sonya did not ask for it. "Would you buy something else?" ask Alex.

Sonya shook her head strongly, "It's been ahh... I don't want Lex, it's so expensive, yesterday you gave me a watch, then this bag... That's enough." answered Sonya.

Alex embraces Sonya's waist, "Then we eat Gelato instead?" alex and Sonya nodded.

"Is the famous legend true Lex? If Italians welcome the new year by throwing their old stuff out of the windows of the house on the eve of the new year?" ask Sonya before licking her logo.

"It's been a long time since it's been allowed, it seems like there's been a serious punishment for that" Alex replied, then asked Sonya, "You know what other people's habits are when celebrating the new year?"

Sonya shook her head, "What?"

"They wear red underwear. Many men and women adhere to this tradition..."

"Why should it be red?"

"Because they believe red symbolizes passion, warmth, strength, decisiveness and energy, it can all bring good luck to them." Alex replied, then added with a wide grin, "Red lingerie is one of the most popular Christmas gifts..."

"Do I also have to wear red underwear?" asked Sonya while grinning widely.

"Are you teasing me?" Alex turns her back on her, then before Sonya answers Alex pulls Sonya into her arms, then kisses her lips, and licks the ice gelato left on Sonya's lips.

Sonya grunts, "Mode... Just tell me you want to kiss me..."

"Who else should I kiss besides kissing you?" tease Alex while pinching Sonya's chin.

Sonya eats the gelato again, accidentally left a trace on her lips, then she kisses Alex, dividing the sweet taste of the gelato into Alex. "Naaah... It just broke even." exclaimed Sonya.

"That's the new mode." Alex replies.

"What else do you know about the new year here?"

"Hm... Ah there is a very funny tradition in Rome, they think that if they jump from the bridge to the Tiber River on New Year's Eve, then they will always be lucky all year..."

"That's ridiculous... What if they were to drift off? Not to mention if it freezes!"

"But that's their tradition Son... That's why the one with the guts dared to jump into the river."

"Then what?" ask Sonya again.

"They don't eat chicken on New Year's Eve." replied Alex, his right hand embracing Sonya's waist, and his left hand holding a shopping bag.

"Why?"

"Because it's gonna bring shit. They associate chickens with stupidity and stupidity."

"Poor chicken.." murmured Sonya, "Keep?"

"The first person they meet on the first date, can signify good or bad luck in the coming year. If they meet first on the street is an old man let alone a hunchback, then their future will be happy and prosperous, especially if they meet young and beautiful women... But if you meet a priest on the street, it's a bad sign."

"It's better to stay at home then... Continues to?"

"Keep... Continues to... I'm the parking lot guy..." Alex pretended to frown, making Sonya chuckle.

"I want to test your knowledge Lex.." ledek Sonya.

"Not to test my knowledge, but to test my patience..."

Satisfied spinning through the hallways connected to a row of other shops around the landmark city of Milan, they decided to return first to the hotel, resting their feet to enjoy the party turn of the year later tonight.

From the balcony of the hotel room that has been decorated with Christmas ornaments, and garlands with red ribbons, seen the Duomo church that he passed. Due to the long snaking queue, Sonya and Alex broke into it.

"Aren't you tired?" alex asks while handing a glass of wine to Sonya.

"In a moment, I still want to enjoy this city." replied Sonya as she picked up the glass that Alex had offered earlier, and took a sip of it little by little.

Alex raises his glass, takes Sonya toast, "Bon Anno!" she exclaimed, "Hopefully have a good year." - Sonya.
