The next day...
The morning was fast approaching for Eiden who barely slept at all. The man was too worried about Kyra's condition that has not been found yet. In fact, the signs of Kyra's presence were completely absent. It was as if the woman had disappeared into the earth.
Throughout the night, Eiden is completely haunted by all sorts of bad assumptions about Kyra. Repeatedly expelled, those thoughts still surrounded his heart and brain. Eiden believes his wife is fine. He's sure!
This breakfast menu was made by the chef mansion. Although no one was tasteful, Cavan, Abigail, and Eiden forced themselves to keep eating so that the two children in their family modeled. There's still Darren and Emily to watch out for here.
“Emily, eat first, dear,” persuade Abigail to her granddaughter who sits quietly in a chair, not touching her food at a single point.
Emily shakes. “You eat mommy cuisine,” he said. His pair of round eyes were still slightly swollen, the rest of the crying marks last night.
Again and again, Darren let out a heavy sigh. As much as possible he was patient and understood Emily's feelings. He pulled out his sister's plate and scooped up a mouthful of rice and side dishes. “Later if mommy knew Emily did not eat, Emily was scolded. Keep mommy going again, huh. Want?” The boy put food in Emily's mouth.
After shaking her head, Emily eats Darren's feed. The contents of the little girl's plate had just run out because Darren had been feeding her all breakfast. After making sure his sister ate and drank properly, then Darren ate his own ration of dishes. Abigail was moved by Darren's actions. Examples of good brothers.
“Emily not school?” eiden asked her daughter not to wear a uniform, but not a weekend or holiday.
Emily nodded quickly. “No want! Emily wants to be home, wait for mommy!”
This time, Eiden didn't bother. Rather than her daughter being anxious at school and unfocused, it was better to just permit her today. After all, Eiden still hasn't found a bright spot on the background of Kyra's disappearance. Either kidnapped or indeed went somewhere according to Darren's story last night. Eiden doesn't know.
So, in order to minimize similar incidents, Eiden asked Darren and Emily to stay at the mansion, the safest place he thought.
Breakfast done. Eiden rushed to his study. He intends to contact Garry, demanding more information regarding the matter this time.
“Where? Have you met?” ask Eiden when the phone is connected.
Garry did not answer immediately. And, the man's inertia makes Eiden understand that Kyra has not been found.
“Do you not find any clues?” Eiden lunglai on the couch.
“Sorry, Sir. Nothing at all.”
Frustrated, Eiden almost slammed his phone on the floor. However, his actions were undone when the door of his study was opened from the outside. Eiden was surprised to see his son enter with a piece of paper.
“Dar—”
“Darren pinjem mobile, Dad.” The little man interjected while raising his hand.
Despite not knowing what Darren's sudden motives are, Eiden still gives him his phone. The child seemed to be fiddling with something before sticking the black-dominated flat object into the ear.
“Halo? With whom?” A cold heavy voice sounded.
“Halo, Uncle. This Darren.”
“Ah, Small Master. Forgive me.” He slightly regretted having used such a cold tone just now.
“No pa pa, really. Uncle, Uncle Reven know mommy where now?” ask Darren to the point. Since he doesn't have his own cell phone, Darren borrows Eiden's phone. At the very least, the confirmation from Reven would reduce Darren's current anxiety. Maybe not just Darren, Eiden is the same.
“Nona Kyra? Yesterday the lady was here until 6pm, Little Lord. But then the lady left. I don't know where he is.”
Since Darren activated speaker mode, Eiden could hear clearly. Fortunately, Reven did not mention ‘markas’ or anything related to the mafia. So Kyra's secret is safe even though Eiden's suspicions are growing.
“Sorry, Little Master. I can't. Miss left without bringing anything. But, I remember that miss went with Mauren. Maybe little Master can ask him.”
A glimmer of Darren's hope that had disappeared again rose. “OK, Uncle. Darren close, yes, call aunty.”
“Good, Small Master.”
Without waiting again, Darren immediately entered Mauren's number into Eiden's phone. The piece of paper he was carrying contained important numbers, including Reven's mobile number, Mauren, and others. Kyra purposely provides him for an emergency situation that requires Darren to contact someone other than himself.
“Mauren who, Darren?” ask Eiden.
“Aunty Mauren her cousin mommy, Dad.” Darren briefly explained as he typed Mauren's numbers one by one. After that, he was immediately called.
Tut. tut's...
“Halo? Who, yeah?”
“Aunty, this is Darren. Mommy is the same aunty?”
“Oh, you, Honey. Mommy-you, huh? Same night, aunty, anyway. But, mommy you're home from 9pm, honey. Aunty thinks your mommy's home. Yesterday mommy you were furious, maybe... now you are nenangin yourself?” mauren said a little doubtfully.
“Mommy angry? Why why?” ask Darren to know. “What happened something, Aunty?”
I heard heavy breathing from across. “It's about your opa, Darling.”
“Opa? You mean mommy's papa?”
“Iya.”
“Opa why? What opa is still alive like Uncle Ansel?”
“No, Dear.” Mauren's breath was a thrilling success for Eiden and Darren. The two men of different generations somehow both feel if the facts that Mauren will convey will not be pleasant. “Opa has died. Only...”
Darren Gregetan because Mauren never continued. “What free, Aunty?! Don't make Darren curious, yeah! This daddy also wants denger.”
Mauren stunned. “There's your daddy there?”
“That's! Mommy was from semalem. Housemates are in a panic, let alone daddy. This is Darren pinjem daddy.”
Mauren cursed herself in her heart. Thankfully, he hasn't mentioned anything about the facts they got last night. Had he spoken, there would have been a family war after this.
“It turns out your opa died because there was a cause, Darling.”
Darren fell silent. “Means.. opa killed?” ogre.
“That's it, Aunty doesn't know. To be sure, the background about your opa death is not as simple as we thought, dear. Mommy you are angry because you only know about this after so many years.” Mauren exhaled a rough breath. “Aunty perematin, when your mommy comes home, don't make her emotional. Your mommy's feelings must be messed up again. Bener-ener messed up.”
Eiden. What has he been missing all this time? What secrets is Kyra hiding? And, what did Mauren mean just now?
Why am I feeling bad?
