Dear Enemy

Dear Enemy
Chapter 11 - The Talk on the Phone

London, England.

Sheilla and Grayson were sitting in the taxi they were riding in. They are currently on their way home. They had spent a very long time on the journey, and they really wanted to get there soon in order to rest. Unfortunately that was not possible, because once they got home, Sheilla and Grayson still had to continue their journey. There was no time to rest, because after arriving home, they had to go straight to the headquarters to report that the task they had run successfully.

The taxi they were riding then stopped at a large building that was none other than their residential home. The taxi stopped in front and they went out and dropped all their things. Once they're done getting everything out, they're in.

“Ella, since it's already night, how about we drive you home tomorrow?”

“Good.”

“You go straight in and rest, okay?”

Ella nodded her head in response to the remark from Sheilla. Arriving inside, Grayson immediately took his son to the room on the second floor. Meanwhile, Ella went straight to the room they had provided for her there.

Unlike Sheilla, the woman immediately entered their personal space with her luggage. Arriving there, she sat for a while waiting for her husband to finish putting James to bed.

“A very tiring day,” muttered Sheilla who was now stunned on the existing sofa. The sofa is directly facing the fireplace in the room. While trying to rest for a while, Sheilla was suddenly startled by the ringing sound of her phone. The woman's focus immediately turned to the voice she heard. It turned out that her brother called. Realizing that, Sheilla immediately picked it up.

“Halo?”

“I don't think you're going to pick up the phone from me for being too tired. Are you trying to sleep?”

“Yes, that's it. Today was exhausting. Why are you calling?”

“Nico says you and Grayson can rest for tonight and you can meet them tomorrow.”

“What? Really?”

“Yes. He's not doing well today because he's worried about Lucy.”

“Lucy? Why with him?”

“As we know, Lucy is now handling Beatrix, and right now. Even from what I've heard, the woman made a deal with Beatrix to get her to release Amanda and Aland.”

“You know? As a fellow agent, I don't understand your friend's mindset at all. How could he be willing to obey the words of his enemy with the assurances of his two comrades? Isn't this too risky?”

“You won't understand, Ken.. They're more than colleagues to him.”.

“You mean about Aland? I knew the man was dating even to the point of almost marrying him. But still this cannot be used as an excuse for— at all"

“He just tried not to repeat his failure!”

“What?”

“You don't understand. Because of that woman, she lost everything. He lost both his parents, lost his best friend, lost the person he loved the most, and even because of the woman, his friendship with Jean fell apart… Beatrix is the only reason Lucy has the trauma. She's also the reason why Lucy quit our syndicate.”

“Wait. I don't know about this, but what do you mean by that?”

“You remember the bombing incident that happened a few years ago? Back then there was a black organization that carried out terror bombings, and the state of our syndicate was so chaotic back then because there was also a letter coming into the base regarding the threat from an anonymous person who would do something similar to our base?"

“Yes? What does this have to do with it?”

“The person who did it was Beatrix, and the incident was actually one part of her plan to frame Lucy. The incident happened in the near future after Lucy and Aland failed to marry, and both parents were killed in a car explosion. And do you know who was the victim of the bombing?”

“That Beatrix faked her death right?”

“True. But what I mean is the person who was with him in there.”

“Wait, don't tell me you mean her best friend Lucy is..”.

“He is the same person who has been known as Nico's favorite agent, as well as his second adopted son after Beatrix.”

“Elena?”

“Fast. Unfortunately Elena has such a deep and close history with Lucy. That is why, he was so devastated by his death that he finally decided to stop being an agent, after the last mission.”.
