Alby's Decision

Devi stayed in the car for a long time, but Alby did not return. Devi also took the initiative to catch up with Alby because he was afraid something happened up there to Alby.

When she opened the car door, Devi recalled Alby's ban, which forbade her from getting out of the car and asked him to wait for her in the car. But Devi's not his name if he just obeys Alby's words. Due to his high worry, Devi decides to go after Alby.

Looks like some residents who are struggling to fill the road and vaguely Devi can hear there has been an accident.

The accident? Who was the accident?

With a slow step, Devi ventured to break through the crowd to see firsthand what was really happening. Besides, who knows, there's Alby up ahead, too.

When about to break through, Devi's eyes accidentally saw Raden and Fitra who were running closer to the victims of the accident.

As if getting courage, Devi immediately broke through the crowd and she managed to be in the front row.

The blood!

One word Devi saw as soon as she arrived at the front row. Devi saw blood pouring from one of the legs of the victim of the accident. Devi can also see Alby, Raden and Fitra who are rescuing patients through first aid. Even faintly Devi was also still able to hear their conversation.

"When he hit the roadblock he was hit by a steering wheel in the chest with a hard more precisely the heart but not until the cardiac tamponade, but there was a little bleeding. Hurry and get the ambulance closer here!!!" alby's orders are vaguely heard by Devi.

But suddenly a memory of his nightmare returned in circles filled his head.

"Om" said Devi.

Devi felt her head hurt so much that it felt like it wanted to break. The shadow of an accident turned back to fill his memory. Cold sweat started pouring down his forehead, his breathing was hunting and his body was trembling in fear.

'Devi, calm down'

'I'll save you, calm down'

'Wear your seatbelt, we'll get out of here,'

Devi held her head with both hands. Devi wanted to smash her head into the asphalt so that the memory would disappear from her head.

"Om" said Devi, crying.

'You think I'll save you?'

Devi felt her head getting heavier and sick. Now he feels his world is spinning and soon he falls unconscious. Faintly he still heard Raden's voice calling his name before finally the darkness took him back.

After completing an impromptu operation, Alby immediately went to see Raden to ask about Devi's condition.

"Move the patient to the ICU and keep an eye on him" Alby told Fitra.

"Okay doc" replied Fitra.

Alby goes to the information center and asks where Devi is.

"Doctor Alby, how can I help you?" ask the nurse at the information center.

Not until Alby mentioned Devi's name, Raden had already approached her and called her name.

"Doctor Alby," called Raden as he waved his hand at Alby.

"No, I've got it" Alby told the nurse.

Raden walked closer to Alby and immediately invited him to go to Devi's ward.

"What's Devi's condition?" ask Alby to worry.

"Devi is fine. Everything's normal, but-"

"But what? You don't talk half-way!" reprimand Alby while staring at Raden nyalang.

"On the way, Devi was unceasingly saying 'please'. It was like asking doc. Did Devi ever experience a tragic event that made her that way?" asked Raden who made Alby stop his steps staring at Raden.

"I don't think I have any reason to tell you. Just here, I'm going to Devi's ward alone and you're watching the crash patient I just operated on" Alby told Raden.

"But doc."

"Aren't those supposed to be your patients?! I've been kind enough to help you save his life and now you're just watching him, you don't want to? If you don't want to then stop being a doctor!" alby's Sarcas.

After that, Alby immediately left Raden who stood down to realize his mistake. Alby's right, he shouldn't want to know other people's problems. But this is Devi, where could Raden just let it go if there was a problem? It is better that he immediately go to the ICU room to monitor the condition of his patients.

Alby who had found Devi's nursery room immediately entered it. Once inside, Alby could see Devi sleeping with her pale face. Slowly Alby approached Devi and watched her pale face carefully.

"How's the condition?" alby asked the nurse who was justifying Devi's infusion.

"Blood pressure and oxygen saturation are normal all docks. Maybe soon the patient will be aware," replied the nurse politely.

After the nurse leaves, Raka who knows Devi's condition goes inside and stands next to Alby.

"really guessed. The amnesia you asked me about yesterday was Devi's, wasn't it? You and Devi are not siblings" said Raka, who was reluctant to be replied by Alby.

Raka glanced at Alby for a bit before he finally breathed his coarse breath.

"Alby, I didn't dare do any further checks before getting your permission. You sure you don't want to do a test to diagnose Devi's amnesia?" ask Raka.

"That's gonna be hard."

"Hard what? Isn't Devi's mumpung here we have to do the examination so that Devi does not know? We can say that it's for a regular extra check. We must perform a thorough physical examination, including a neurological examination (neural cytem function). Then to confirm the diagnosis, we can do supporting tests such as cognitive¹ test, blood test², MRI³ or EEG⁴ on Devi."

"Don't ngawur. You're gone, let me think about your advice."

"I'm waiting for your answer."

Raka finally left the ward and left only Alby.

Alby chose to sit next to Devi's gurney while continuing to look at Devi with a brain that just kept thinking about Raka's advice. Should he agree to do a series of tests while Devi is still hospitalized?

Suddenly, Devi moved uneasily. His eyes were still tightly closed but he kept delirious and asked for help while crying.

"Please save me..."

"Hey, what's up?" alby asked gently while calming Devi down.

"Save me..."

"Dev, hustt calm down. I'm here, don't be afraid. You'll be fine" said Alby, soothing Devi and gently stroking Devi's head.

Not long after, Devi calmed down. Alby tidied up Devi's messy haircut and even Alby also wiped away the tears on Devi's cheeks gently.

"Om" said Devi, opening her eyes.

"Hey, you're conscious?" ask Alby gently.

"Om huaaa...."

Devi cried loudly and hugged Alby tightly. Alby immediately stroked Devi's back gently so that Devi began to calm down.

"Hustt don't be afraid. I'm here, I won't leave you alone" Alby said.

Without Alby realizing it, Raden, whose intention was to visit Devi for a while before he went to the ICU room, saw Alby calming Devi in his arms. I don't know why Raden is a little unwilling if Devi is in the arms of others. But now apparently Devi is not in good condition and Raden understand Alby's embrace on Devi.

After feeling that Devi had calmed down, Alby released his embrace and looked at Devi's swollen face.

"Is there a sick one?" ask Alby for attention.

"There," Devi replied as she continued to cry.

"Which one?" ask Alby to worry.

"My head hurts a little bit, um" whined Devi as she pointed at her back head.

Alby immediately checked Devi's back head. Alby's mind drifted everywhere. Is this Devi's effect considering the accident? But once he saw the little wound that was on his back head, Alby was a little relieved.

"Your head was hurt because you fainted and your back was hit by the asphalt" explained Alby trying to contain the anger. What exactly did Raden do?!! Why did he not know there was a wound on Devi's back head?!! Just look if he meets with Raden later, Alby will scold him all-out for not being meticulous in handling patients!

"Bloody isn't om?" lirih Devi's.

"No," Alby answered lying because if he was honest and said there was a little blood on his back head, Devi would probably be scared again.

"I'm going to treat it" Alby said as he headed out to pick up medicines and equipment.

"Om Alby don't go," stop Devi while holding Alby's arm.

"Just for a second. I just went to get some medicine and then I'll come back" Alby persuaded, but Devi still wouldn't let go of her arm.

"I'm afraid to be alone om" said Devi.

"But your head needs to be treated immediately" Alby said.

"Call Brother Raden only. Get him to treat my head."

"Raden is busy. I know who should treat your head" Alby said, staring at Devi with a hard-to-understand look.

"Who's om?"

"Doctor Raka."

I don't know if this is the decision that Alby has taken is right or not but for sure this time he will try the advice of Raka. Devi had to undergo tests to diagnose her amnesia or other brain damage before it was too late.

"Then I want you to do an EEG on Devi right now" Alby told Raka by phone. Alby deliberately uses a word that Devi does not understand to make Devi unsuspecting.

"Sorry Sean, this time I use my own decision" Alby said in his heart.

To detect someone experiencing amnesia or not, many ways can be done one of the EEG itself.
