Alby carried Devi out of the hospital and walked towards the park not far from the hospital. Along the way, Devi remained silent without making a single sound. The girl simply observed the surroundings without interest and even now she closed her eyes as drowsiness began to attack her.
Alby glanced back to catch a glimpse of Devi. Is this Sean's fear if Devi remembers the horrific incident? Devi only remembered a small part of the incident but the effect was up to that. Honestly, Alby also condemned his stupidity for his unilateral decision. He should not have agreed to Raka's suggestion. Shouldn't he just follow Sean? Sean is the one who understands Devi's situation the most, not Raka. Damnit damnit! Why in such a situation would he even become a fool?! Just look at how scared Devi was once she entered the room to do an EEG, she was so scared that her body shook.
"Om," call Devi slowly.
"Hm?"
"You need ice cream" Devi said.
"Es cream?"
"Yes. Yesterday we didn't buy om ice cream and I want to buy it now" whined Devi.
"All right, let's go get some ice cream."
Devi smiled happily as Alby complied. Alby immediately stepped foot into the cafe that Raden and Devi had visited to buy ice cream.
"Om Alby tired of not holding me like this?" devi asked as she pressed her head to the side of Alby's face.
"Snap. You're heavy" joked Alby.
"I'm not heavy! Alby is weak!" devi's protest did not take hold while hitting Alby's shoulder softly.
"Well I'm the weak one" Alby said with a chuckle.
At least Alby feels relieved Devi is fine and even Devi's behavior has returned to normal.
"Welcome" said the waiter as soon as Alby and Devi entered the cafe.
"Sit there om!" point Devi at a table.
Alby took his foot to the table that Devi meant and sat Devi there.
"I want chocolate ice cream and vanilla?"
"It's up to you" replied Alby.
"Om Alby what do you want?" ask Devi.
"I don't want to."
Devi immediately ordered ice cream according to her wishes to the waiter.
"Do you like ice cream?" ask Alby to Devi.
"yes om. Sean's father and brother used to bring me ice cream when I came home and it was almost every day. Oh yes I have been here with brother Raden and I also ordered two," said Devi as she pointed her index and middle fingers in front of Alby.
"Don't eat too much ice cream" Alby said.
"Why is it?"
"Mostly eating ice cream can increase the risk of heart disease, obesity, brain freeze, trigger laziness and tooth decay. My mom and dad banned me from eating ice cream for a long time" Alby said.
"Well, I'm being a messian with you. Alby has never tasted the sweetness of ice cream and the delicious cold in the mouth" said Devi dramatically.
"I'm not interested in ice cream anyway" Alby said calmly.
Not long after, Devi's order of ice cream arrives. Devi immediately chanted the ice cream and Alby just watched it while smiling thinly.
Devi is a hard girl to guess. This morning she trembled in fear but now she was back to being her normal self.
"Of."
"Hm?"
"My head doesn't hurt anymore. I don't want to go back to the hospital and do an examination like that" Devi said on the sidelines of her meal.
"You must be so scared, right?"
"Yes. It felt like my heart just stopped beating but thankfully Alby didn't force me."
Alby sighed softly while looking at Devi.
"I'm sorry" Alby said regretfully.
"No need to apologize. I was the only one who was scared. Alby's doctor anyway, so Alby knows what to do with the patient, but I'm totally cured. My head no longer hurts," said Devi with a little lie inside. His head no longer hurt, but that was not the reason. The reason Devi did not want to do the examination was that the shadow of her being kidnapped and about to be sold her organs was what scared her to death. And Devi couldn't have told Alby about it.
Alby checked the messages that had just entered his phone. It was a message from Gara about Devi's try-out results last week. This morning Alby deliberately asked for help Gara to send him the results of last week's try out.
"Look you got 30 out of 36 students" Alby pointed to on her phone screen.
"Woahh!!! I was so surprised!! It's not in vain that I've been studying diligently lately" said Devi confidently.
"There is nothing to be proud of from rank 30 of the 36 Dev."
"Of course there is! This is progress."
"What rank did you get before?" ask Alby.
"35 om," replied Devi lightly.
"35?" alby didn't believe it.
"Yes and the one who got the 36th rank was Arin. At least I'm not the one who got the last rank."
Alby massaged his forehead dizzy. How could Devi look happy with her rank six from below? This may be the effect of Devi who rarely studies and instead goes on a date with Raden. Alby has to do something!
"From tomorrow you'll be back studying with Laudya as your tutor and I'll limit your dates to Raden" Alby said.
"I don't want to om" whined Devi as she pursed her lips.
"Look! This is the result of eating too much ice cream, you become lazy to learn. Then I'll also ban you from eating ice cream."
"Of!!"
"You select one of two options. The first option is you can have ice cream but you have to study with Laudya or you don't eat ice cream at all. Please choose." Alby missed his smirk see the look on Devi's upset face. There was no way the girl would just take off her ice cream.
"Alright, I chose to study," chose Devi with a slight annoyance.
"I'll call Laudya to teach you from tonight."
"Why is it tonight? Didn't Alby say tomorrow?" devi protests.
"Would you like to eat some ice cream?"
"You."
"Just follow my words."
"Om Alby really sucks!!"
*****
"Master, young master Raden is home."
Hearing the interruptions from his men, the middle-aged man immediately turned his head and found a young man who had just arrived standing there.
"You're home yet?"
"It's uncle" replied Raden as he walked closer to his uncle.
"How's your life as a koas doctor? You must be tired, right? I told you to continue your father's business so you don't have to be this tired."
"I'm not tired uncle. I prefer my profession now" Raden replied with a laugh.
The middle-aged man sighed softly while looking at Raden.
"Uncle would rather you continue your father's business. Your father's business is on the edge now, nothing can replace your father's emptiness."
"I know uncle. I'll think about it later," Raden said at the end.
The middle-aged man received Raden's reply, though he was not satisfied with his answer. But what can be said, his nephew does have a difficult stance to shake.
"I went to see my mother first" said Raden.
"Yes go. Your mother must be glad you're home."
Raden immediately got up from his chair and walked away from his uncle. But just a few steps Raden stepped foot, his uncle's question made him stop in place.
"When are you going to see your father in prison? My brother misses his son a lot."
