Abhimanyu's Advice

Already several times Devi glanced at the wall clock that had shown at eleven o'clock at night but he had no intention of moving from the front of the television to go to sleep.

Devi is waiting for Alby to come home. This morning when Devi called Alby, Alby said that he would come home tonight. Therefore Devi chose to wait for Alby in the living room by watching television so as not to get sleepy.

Devi was actually very sleepy but she held him back. Devi looked at her phone and saw that there wasn't a single message from Alby, and it was a sign that Alby was really going home tonight.

"Lho you haven't slept Dev?" ask Abhimanyu who intends to go down to the kitchen to get drinking water.

"Not yet," replied Devi smiling.

"It's time for rest at night. You're here waiting for Alby to come home, aren't you?" guess Abhimanyu walked over to Devi and sat down on the sofa next to him.

"yes om. I called Alby this morning and he said he was coming home tonight. But now why haven't you come yet? I've sent him a message but it hasn't been answered by Alby. I became worried that something might happen" said Devi with a clear worried face.

Abhimanyu who heard Devi's statement also smiled gently while looking at Devi's attention like a father who looks affectionately at his daughter.

"Don't worry, maybe Alby's busy dealing with patients. Alby is now on the IGD, so emergency patients can come at any time and Alby can't tell you all the time because he has to deal with them immediately. Let alone Alby, I have often reneged on my promise to Ishwari. I said I would go home early but actually came home late because there was a patient with an emergency condition. You don't think no-no and you better go to bed soon. You are still in the recovery stage, Dev" said Abhimanyu softly.

After that, the two of them were just silent with Devi's gaze leading to the television screen. Abhimanyu turned to Devi, wanting to ask if Devi was ready to testify to Ganendra's case or not. But he remembered the words of his son if Devi should not be forced and should be left until Devi herself who intended to tell him, he also undo his intentions. Abhimanyu sighed softly and helped set his gaze towards the television.

"Om Abi is not sleeping?" devi asked, looking towards Abhimanyu.

"No. Om will accompany you until Alby comes" replied Abhimanyu.

"I'm fine, really. Om Abi can sleep now. Om Abi has been working all day so Abi must be tired and now Abi must rest."

"It's okay, really," replied Abhimanyu who made Devi have no choice but to let him accompany her waiting for Alby's return.

They both went back in silence. But apparently deep in Devi's heart, Devi was eager to wonder at Abhimanyu and ask him for advice but Devi was too embarrassed to say it.

Abhimanyu sighed softly while smiling.

"So the real reason you don't want to testify is because you don't want Alby in trouble?" ask Abhimanyu who is possessed by Devi.

"Dev you can't be like that. If you do not testify, Ganendra could be released without punishment. You don't want that to happen, do you?"

Devi shook her head in response.

"Alby's case and your assault are very different. Your assault case was fatal and Alby wasn't. Ganendra tried to kill you because you held the ace he had. Ganendra is afraid that you are leaking secrets about his father's death. Imagine, Ganendra wants to kill you. It has to do with your life. You want to risk your life just for Alby's career?"

Devi fell silent.

"Alby's a doctor. If Alby is wrong then he must accept the consequences. You can't hide that fact. You have to tell the police the truth and don't think about Alby. Alby's an adult so I'm sure he can handle the problem if he's really dragged into the case. Alby's punishment may be a suspension, he may not work in the hospital for a while until the deadline is set and after that Alby can return to work again as before, but what if your life drifted? Will your life come back to you again like Alby's work?"

"At that time the state of the patient is very unlikely to be saved even though the best doctors in the hospital handle it. So don't worry, Rusli's medical records can definitely ease Alby's sentence" Abhimanyu continued.

Devi fell silent. He seemed to think which step he should take. If he had stayed silent without testifying, what if Ganendra would have been released and re-injured? Yesterday he was lucky because he was still given safety but how about it? Is luck still given to him?

"Well, I'll testify to the police" Devi replied in the end.

Abhimanyu gently stroked Devi's hair while smiling.

"Tomorrow happens to have a meeting with the director of the hospital where Alby works. What if the om who drove you away testified to the police?"

"Remember, you should really sleep. Can't stay up late waiting for Alby to come home," Abhimanyu recalled opening Devi's room door.

"Yes, I promise. Good night" said Devi.

"Good night."

After making sure Devi entered his room, Abhimanyu immediately went to his own room which was on the first floor.

Devi who could not calm down immediately reached into his phone and immediately called Alby's number.

Alby's first call did not answer him but Devi did not give up. He kept dialing Alby's number until Alby finally answered his call.

"Om where are you? Why so long?!!" cecar Devi as soon as the call is connected.

"Alby is sleeping," replied a woman with a distinctive raspy tone of wakefulness whom Devi knew her voice.

Devi's jaw hardened as soon as she knew who was answering Alby's call.

"It's Dev, me and Alby are so tired."

Call switched off!

Devi threw her phone on the bed and followed herself. Devi immediately covered herself with a blanket so thick that it covered her head.

Devi was really angry and so she thought recklessly.

"Tante Laudya sucks! What exactly did Aunt Laudya do with Alby until she was so exhausted!!!"
