For A Husband Who Doesn't Love Me

For A Husband Who Doesn't Love Me
12. Roommate

Once at home, Hidayat was shocked at the sudden arrival of his mother and mother-in-law. The two middle-aged women were already inside the house. Bu Zainab stared at his return with anger.

"I-mom..." Although he hoped Maira would complain, he was still haunted by guilt.

"Where did you come home at this time?" Omel Bu Zainab's.

"Mother, already... It's the first time Hidayat's bang came home late at night. Usually never, Mom..." Maira said trying to contain the anger of Bu Zainab.

"Don't believe your husband, Maira... Even once, I was afraid it would become a habit..." Said Zainab to Maira.

"Why are the mothers here? Didn't you leave tomorrow morning from the village?" Tanya Hidayat tried to divert her mother's anger.

"Luckily, I'm advancing my departure schedule here, so I know what you're doing..." Ketus Bu Zainab's.

"I'm sorry Hidayat, Mom..." Said Hidayat. He approached his mother, then greeted her while hugging her.

"Although your sister's late home never told anything about her household to your mother and father, but I was so sure she was treated very well by the late son Ajiz..."

Hidayat nodded in his mother's arms. He also believed it, because he himself was a witness to their love.

Bu Zainab took Hidayat out of his arms, then grabbed Maira's hand and united her with Hidayat's. "Therefore, son, please take care of Maira as well as possible as her late brother kept your late brother's house for the rest of his life..."

Hidayat and Maira looked at each other, and somehow Hidayat could not lie that his heart was racing when he saw Maira's eyes were so beautiful and soothing.

"Why is it so excessive, Miss Zainab?" Ask Maira's mother to melt the atmosphere.

"Their marriage is still early, Besan... I forced their relationship, but I was sure they were the soul mate of the afterlife... I'm just worried if Hidayat makes a mistake, then hurts Maira's feelings too deeply..." Bu Zainab.

"Mothers... Maira's mother's second coming for fun, not for sadness... I don't have to worry, bang Hidayat is keeping Maira so good here..." Maira said as she rubbed Bu Zainab's back.

"Don't you, Miss Zainab heard Maira's words? I firmly believe in Nak Hidayat, that this mother's youngest son will look after our daughter, and the only one for us..." Maira's mother's timpal cools the atmosphere and feelings of Bu Zainab.

Hidayat forced his smile, then took turns to greet his mother-in-law. "I'm sorry Hidayat, ma'am... Hidayat should have been home by the time Mom arrived..."

Without anyone noticing, Maira repeatedly blinked her eyes that felt sore. He who wants this play to walk, but still he feels unbearable sadness.

"Already, now we rest... Look at the clock on the wall, it's gonna be ticking at midnight... Are we going to stay late in this kind of atmosphere? Let's not let our dawn mishap..." Maira's mother said with a smile to melt the atmosphere that was still fluttering in tension.

"Bang, Maira borrowed the guest room key, yeah... Mother kekeh wants to sleep there, but Maira has persuaded mother to sleep in our room now, and let us just sleep there..." Pinta Maira was gently accompanied by a gaze of supplication.

"Huh?" Hidayat. Maira's gaze overcame her ego. "Ang help sneeze his room, huh?"

Hidayat was forced to follow the charade that Maira had already played.

***

This was the first time for Hidayat to enter the room of his late brother and sister-in-law. It's kind of clumsy. Although after Zahrana died, he never wanted to be invited by Ajiz to stay in the main room.

Slowly Hidayat sat on the edge of the bed, while his eyes were busy circling around every corner of the room that was quite large and clean.

The shadow of his late brother and sister-in-law seemed to dance in his eyes, making him lulled for a moment.

"Maira knows, this is the first time for you to enter this room..." He told Maira who was busy carrying a pillow on the sofa in front of the bed that he was sitting on.

Maira. He was amazed to hear Hidayat's words that were so polite and different from before since they were married. This is the first time, and the one that has been eagerly awaited by him.

"You want to read Zahra's last novel? It was in this room that their love story began, and that's why you refused to go into this room..." It was clear that he was extending his conversation with Maira.

Maira still did not reply, she continued to enjoy the thing that made her heart pound because she heard Hidayat's voice so soft to her.

Hidayat, noticing Maira not responding, immediately turned to the position of Maira, who was standing quietly behind the sofa.

Hidayat let out a long sigh when he saw Maira's silence while looking at her so closely. "Sorry..."

"Did?" Moments later Maira gasps to see Hidayat's gaze turning to her.

"I'm sorry, you shouldn't be acting that way to Maira... Brother realizes, we're just victims of circumstances..." Said Hidayat clarifying his apology.

Maira smiled, then turned her face away. "Maira has never felt victimized in this situation, Bang..."

"What did Maira see from Brother?" Ask Hidayat, a question that should have been asked from the beginning gently, and from heart to heart.

"Does love know looks? Does love know the throne? Does love know a person first? If it were, then there would be no love in man..." Maira's words made Hidayat stunned.

"But..."

"At least, love knows where it boils down to when it travels the ocean..." Cut Maira fast. "For Maira, the ship did not look for a place to dock for just a stopover, but sailed without thinking tired of being hit by waves and the ferocity of a wide ocean storm... If the ship is not sturdy, then believe me, it will not survive..."

"In the Qur'an the letter of Ar-rum alone God has told us that it is His love and compassion that has made it among us human. Maira just tried to wait patiently about the word of God in the letter of Al-Mumtahanah, hopefully He will cause affection in the heart of Brother for Maira who Abang enemies..." Maira added again with courage.

"Abang is not hostile to Maira, and there is no intention of it..." Deny Hidayat while walking closer to Maira's position.

Maira smiled again. A bitter smile that did not believe her husband's words. He began to lay down his body on the sofa, then pulled the blanket to his chest. "Sleep, don't you have to pick up a ticket for departure out of town tomorrow?"

"Huh?" Hidayat flinched, then turned to the bed. Tonight his heart was so happy. He tried to close his eyes, but his mind was still fixed on Maira's words. There is nothing wrong with that girl.
