Chapter 47: Joyce And Robert

Joyce did not go to work today because Robert asked his mother to put Joyce away. Joyce didn't know where the man was going to take her. Robert sent her a message this morning not to go to work because the man invited her to attend the event. Joyce also did not know that Robert had returned from England. Robert sent her clothes and shoes to wear tonight.

"Drrtt..drrrtt ..." Joyce's phone vibrated. The woman then picked up her phone.

"I'm waiting for you downstairs" said Robert, turning off his phone.

Joyce then got off her unit with a simple makeup on her face. He saw Robert's car parked there. The man stood next to his car in a blue dongker suit, matching the color of the dress he was wearing now.

"Come." said Robert, opening the car door for Joyce. Robert then got into the car, sitting in the driver's seat.

"Where are we really going?" ask Joyce.

"You'll know later, too" said Robert. Joyce then nodded.

Half an hour's drive, the two arrived at a luxurious building. Robert parked his car and took Joyce inside.

"Robert what's the show?" joyce asked in amazement at the decoration of the place. He saw everyone who looked luxurious in the room.

"This is a charity event held once a year. Many artists and the upper class are invited to this event," concluded Robert.

"Some people are willing to buy expensive tickets in order to get in here" said Robert. Joyce rounded her eyes to hear Robert's words.

"La. then why did you bring me here, I don't have the money to pay for it," Joyce said confusedly.

"Don't worry. We came here to replace my mommy and daddy who couldn't attend" Robert said.

"But I've never participated in activities like this. I don't know anything Robert. You shouldn't have brought me to this place."

"There I am with you" concluded Robert and invited Joyce to find their seats.

"You said you wouldn't be on this show. You're lying" Kyle looked at Robert annoyed. Kyle glanced at Joyce before he turned back to Robert.

"I'm only replacing my parents Kyle" Robert replied.

"Then why not invite me hmm." concluded Kyle.

"I thought you'd come with your brother" replied Robert.

"Kyle. come. Daddy's looking for you" said a man who is Kyle's older brother.

"Later I'll see you again robert" Kyle said. The woman then looked at Joyce with a sharp look. It was as if Robert was his.

"Come.." let Robert hold Joyce's hand.

Joyce looked down, seeing Robert's big hand clutching it.

"What's wrong?" ask Robert. Joyce lifted her head, then shook her head. Actually, his heart was racing.

"Robert. I'm ashamed, they're staring at me" Joyce said softly as several people looked at her.

"I told you, I'm beside you. Just ignore. Maybe they're flattered because you're beautiful" Robert said, leaving Joyce wide-eyed. His face was reddened by Robert's words.

"Ck. You're mocking me yeah." decak Joyce. He was actually happy to hear Robert's words. Although he did not know whether Robert seriously said it or not.

"Hey.you are beautiful. I even want to kiss you right now" Robert added, further making Joyce misbehave.

"Where are we actually sitting?" joyce asked to switch the conversation. Robert laughed softly.

"Table number 20," replied Robert.
