Chapter 59. Karen's Dad

Arion blinked his eyes and frowned as the sunlight from the open window vents sent out a bright signal that tickled his pupils and forced him to wake up from a deep sleep.

Half closed, Arion tries to move the body, and wants to stretch his muscles that feel stiff. His head felt heavy and dizzy.

Arion tries to remember what happened until he falls asleep on the floor. The middle-aged man got up and sat down leaning against the bed.

Meanwhile in the village, Rusdi is shocked by the arrival of his daughter Karen and Rico. Karen brought a lot of food for the father she loved so much.

"Dad ...," cried Karen. His father who was gardening left everything behind and walked quickly towards his daughter.

"Dad, I miss you" said Karen hugging her father.

Karen did not care about Rusdi's body bathed in sweat. Hugged tightly to the body that looks thinner.

"Come in, I'll take a shower. You make me a drink for Rico's son while I take a shower."

After all was done, Karen and Rico brought to the living room. At home, Karen's father doesn't have a dining table or a sofa. All the menus are on the floor. They ate by sitting on the floor with bamboo mats.

"Dad, I've been suing Arion for divorce, I beg you to pray that everything will be done" Karen said, opening a conversation after they had dinner.

Dad took a deep breath. He doesn't know what to say. Forcing Karen to keep it all together is also impossible.

"Dad will support whatever decision you make. Just remind me, take care of yourself. Arion will not be able to take everything for granted" Father reminded.

"I also want to tell Dad, if after Karen officially divorced my Papi, we'd get married. I beg your father's blessing" said Rico.

"Dad will bless you. Hopefully this wedding will make Karen happier. I'm old, I won't be able to stand with Karen forever. I'm putting Karen with you. Guard him. Don't let him suffer."

Father said it all with his tears in his eyes. Karen hugged her father's body. The first man he loved.

The next day, Karen and Rico say goodbye. Looks like Dad let go with a little anxious feeling.

"Once again, I beg you, take care of Karen. Don't hurt him. If Karen made a mistake, please don't be upset with her. Talk about everything well. I've seen her body getting thinner since she married Arion. May you she be happier" said Father, holding back tears.

Karen and Rico don't say anything about her recovering from a coma. Fear of all this made her father even more worried.

"Dad also take care of health. If there's anything, call me quickly" said Karen, hugging her father's body.

After saying goodbye, the two left the courtyard slowly. Karen's eyes stared at her father's body without blinking until it was gone from her sight. So did Rusdi's father. He re-enters the house after Rico's car disappears from his eyes.

"May your marriage to Rico be your last. I actually want to tell you all the truth about you. But I'm afraid you're gonna hate me. Because right now you're all I have. Let all this be a secret first, until father is ready to say everything" Rusdi murmured with himself.
