From No Body To Hero
Episode 17's

"Stevens."

The man's voice sincerely said that.

"Also I'm always called Seven."

Steven smiled like a child introducing himself. His name sounds like a number that makes him choose to use numbers as pseudonyms.

Bern walked forward like he was ignoring her. He was just walking because he needed to fight now.

Steven frowned as he looked at Bern from top to bottom. He couldn't believe that Bern still wanted to fight.

"You'll still fight with the condition"

"[Silent]"

"!!?"

Steven gasped when his mouth was forcefully shut by mana. Bern was pretty rough on him. But that only goes for 3 seconds.

"You're really rude to me. Do you still consider me an enemy?"

Steven took out a large sword on his back. He was only joking when he said that. It would be a bit strange if Bern was straight gentle with him considering he was an enemy some time ago.

Bern treated him as a friend. Bern won't be abusive to children. Bern must be Steven is at least 20 years old.

"My condition isn't something you can just lift up."

That's a reason that doesn't make any sense at all. But Steven felt it made sense because Bern kept swallowing blood every time blood flowed down his throat.

"Good, fine. But I warn you again, your body will not last much longer. What else when maintaining magic in this kind of situation.

Bern ignored him again. Only the two of them could fight now.

Quickly, Bern leapt in attack followed by Steven behind him. Bern's shield protects all those who fall due to the explosion of the devil from the apapon attack. The demonic beast was also extremely wild with the demonic energy burst earlier.

"Tens! This is our betrayal!"

Steven was assaulted and still survives. His great sword was flanked with all the big muscles he had.

Satan's organization is nothing on his appeal. The assassin class allowed him to hide well when he produced a death attack with his greatsword.

But like 100 against 1, he's still out of breath and injured here and there.

'He's really a monster.'

Steven thought he was a monster considering himself to be strong compared to the assassins who only relied on stealth techniques. But Bern is on a different level.

She was a witch who was extremely weak to the side effects of excessive mana use. Yet the person suffering from those side effects still fought valiantly as if he was fine.

Even so, his eyes blurred. Bern's shield was also dimly lit because Bern was too self-imposed. Bern swallowed and spat a lot of blood at the same time.

His team was bluffing teeth looking at that shield. Just looking at the shield, they could tell Bern's condition. Their hands clenched tightly and tried to get up in vain.

Ailen and Anton managed to wake up a little before being exposed to pain that was like burning all their blood vessels.

'Shit!!!'

They could only grip the ground with a sense of despair. Zion was also trying her best to stick to her consciousness. Lewis and Uen held their guns in despair.

It was comforting to see them looking desperate in the black mud when they all looked disgusted at him when he first set foot there.

They all grew up looking at how Bern handled the situation there. Bern was nothing more than a knight who taught them when they would apprentice in the future.

Anton and Zion's tears flowed helplessly. They are desperate to help Bern and get caught up in the devil's poison. Of them all, Steven is probably the most useful in Bern's side.

Although they are angry with Steven, it does not close that Steven is more worthy to stand beside Bern than them.

Anton gritted his teeth and raised his head even in pain. The blood vessels in his neck were visible from his attempts to move.

"Bern! Pull this shield! You're too stupid!"

Anton shouted in frustration. Although it felt like all his veins were burning to scream, he at least wanted to convey his annoyance and despair.

He represents the feelings of all his team.

But they all knew that if Bern pulled his shield, they would all die.

Bern looked at them before turning back around. How could he let a child who in the future would become so powerful die? Nor did he have the heart to see the person by his side die.

He hated to see the person by his side dead or injured. He hated seeing the slaughter when he was able to prevent it. He just doesn't like to see innocent good people die. He just became someone with a simple thought pattern.

Bern stepped forward and he lost his footing as it slipped slightly by the water-covered hole. On that occasion, the enemy's spear wanted to stab him.

Tang!

Tusk.

Bern's eyes widened to see the flowing blood mixed with black rain water before his eyes.

"Stevens?"

Steven deflected the attack for Bern. But for that, he was stabbed with a sword in the abdomen from behind.

Tusk.

Steven punched the heart back and the person who stabbed him instantly died.

Blood flowed out of his mouth as he kneeled helplessly. He did not frown at the pain. It doesn't matter if he dies now. There was no one important or reason for him to stay alive.

"Dam."

Bern cursed slowly. The voice sounded like******** upset that he was a burden.

Bern pulled the 2-meter-high Steven towards the shield. But someone must have been chasing him.

Swing!

Bern turned around to fend off the sword.

Teess....

But what he got was a slash that slashed his stomach.

Bern didn't even moan when he just frowned.

"[Until the blood runs dry, my wand won't fall.]"

The shield on the scale was not large but quite accommodating everyone on its side was produced. Blood flowed out of his mouth and stomach.

'This is the last one.'

Magic that can only be used once.

'I beg you, give me the blessing of mana, only for this time.'

Bern's eyes glowed white because of the resulting explosion within his body.

"[Make this a legend.]"

Everyone gasped to see Bern using a double spell. Only Anton and Zion know Bern can use a double spell.

Yet they were still jolted at the sense of which anergy was raging around Bern.

"[Only once did darkness become a holy weapon.]"

Bern was bluffing his teeth feeling his organs like everything was changing places.

"[Protect your citizens.]"

Mana started exploding from Bern.

'Mantra 3 paragraph?'

Duke Zeke really couldn't believe it. Spells are often just 2 paragraphs like 'The beginning of a rainy day, at the end of a beautiful twilight'. The more and longer the spell, the more burdened the user. What's more now Bern is using a true shield spell to burden him.

But something unexpected happened. The black rainwater turned into white and luminous water. Then it sharpened as if it were thousands of holy thorns that fell into the world.

Chong! Tusk's! Pangs! Tang!

Ahwwwoooo!!!

Aaarr!!!

Many sounds of screams and whistles from monsters or human phones. The magician who took Bern's wand and grimoire seemed unconcerned with his dead companion and jumped into the transportation circle alone.

"Grandfather...."

Bern immediately vomited blood. But the spell is not broken even so. His eyes still emitted a white light.

But after a few seconds, Bern finally felt a little used to the pain and then re-erected as if the person vomiting blood was not there.

"It."

Steven handed the potion to Bern. He had already drawn the pierced sword. Blood flowed out from where he was on the prick. He would probably die if he didn't drink the potion in a moment.

"This is the last."

But on his appeal, Bern is more messy. Only Bern stood firm and calm as if he was not injured at all.

Bern picks it up and Steven just sits leaning against a tree with eyes whose light might be gone any minute. He shut it down and will accept his death sincerely without a grudge.

Glupes.

Something warm entered his throat. He opened his eyes gasping at the sight of the potion bottle in his mouth.

The light returned to his eyes. Bern looked satisfied and turned around.

'Why?'

Steven can't help but feel Bern's weird. Why would he save a person he had only known for a few minutes? Also Bern's satisfied eyes overwhelmed him. On his appeal, Bern suffered much more in fact.

'This guy's.... Stupid or what?'

Steven never met anyone as good as Bern.

What he doesn't know, though, is that Bern took revenge for clogging the garlic-rich herb into his mouth. That's why he looks satisfied.

From drinking the potion, he was more willing to drink 10 liters of blood. He's not a vampire. Only he would vomit if he ate something so rich in garlic. If it was just a piece cut into fried rice or something like that, he could also accept it.

The noise in the outer area faded further and eventually disappeared indicating that the enemy had already vanished or even escaped.

Bern eliminated all his bullying and his gaze gradually became increasingly blurred.

The black rain that very rarely stopped, stopped. The dawn sun began to rise illuminating the often dark areas. It was like the weather there as if welcoming their victory.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief with this victory. No one dies because of Bern's persistence anymore. Only the opposing party suffers a loss when they are the one who gains from the beginning.

Potatoes, callipups, kaleups.

The sound of horse feet. That must be reinforcements from Kleio.

It didn't take long for Kleio to find Bern. He was the only one standing among all the people lying on the ground. But Kleio could tell they weren't dead when they saw they were starting to get up but just sat down because their legs might be paralyzed.

"Bern!!!"

Kleio shouted looking at Bern who was standing with all the black on his body. He did not know which was the black rain or which was the blood. All he knew, the black thing in his mouth was blood.

The eyes of Kleio and Bern meet. But Bern's vision had darkened since hearing the footprints of the horse.

As if he could feel Kleio's presence, Bern smiled gently at him.

His body lost the strength to accommodate himself and in a calm and peaceful atmosphere, he could happily lose consciousness.

"Bern!!! This stupid bastard!!!"

Only Kleio's curse became the last word he heard before fainting.
