Chapter 24. Olivette's Fear

As his daughter's divorce progressed, Zion Phoenix was indeed unable to come up with her health grounds. Olivette had already told her that there was no point sticking with a husband like Will who was secretly cheating on her behind him.

"So, today you brought a guest to meet with papa? Is he a man who is serious about marrying you?" ask Zion at breakfast.

Olivette came home last night so Zion and Sophia knew Ethan was coming. Olivette also explains that Ethan is the ex-husband of the woman who became Will's affair.

"Yes, Pa. Serious problem, I don't know. Let her talk to Papa, ", Olivette explained.

The decision is in the hands of his father. Since finding out his daughter was betrayed, Zion actually wants to make Will destroyed to the point that there is no left. However, Olivette forbids to retaliate against any bad deeds Will.

"Papa wants him more than Will. If necessary, his existence will destroy Will. Not directly, slowly no problem," Zion growled.

"Papa, Olive's been saying that a thousand times. Let Will destroy itself" Sophia, Olivette's mother, said.

"Yes, Papa. Forget Will. We must live and look far ahead. It doesn't matter that I have to lose the man before having a child from him, but I don't like it if Papa still has a grudge against him" Olivette explained.

"You'll have the same grudge if your son is treated like that!" zion resolute.

"Papa, stop. Papa's health is far more important than anything" Olivette said.

Olivette was lucky that her parents were able to stand up when she fell. The two always braced and convinced themselves not to stick with Will. Let go and forget. That word had always been Olivette's life grip until this very second.

"Who's the guy's name?" ask Zion.

"Ethan Reagan Soenser, Papa."

"How is he?"

"Papa, you know with just a snap of a finger, don't you?" sahut Sophia's.

The name was no stranger to Zion. Maybe he had known people in his past, but was unable to remember in detail.

"Hemm, okay. Tell him to face this afternoon. If he did the same thing with Will, let alone his company, his life would be at stake!"

"Father!" exclaim Sophia.

As promised, Zion asked the driver to pick up her guests at the hotel. This was also done just like it used to be when Will came to ask for his daughter directly. Honey, when Zion's anger mounts, Olivette keeps getting in her way.

It's not good to take revenge on Will. Let him be happy with his decision. After all Olivette did not regret having to part with him.

A classic European-style mansion becomes the first sight as Ethan begins to enter his courtyard. It looks beautiful and so magnificent. The driver opened the car door when they arrived.

"Master, you can go straight in. Let's take it!" said driver.

Honey, when he got to the entrance of the house, a Maid confronted him.

"Let me deliver. Mr. Zion's been waiting for him in the living room."

"Hemm, okay." The driver pulled back and returned to his car.

Ethan felt his chest shake violently. He felt that Mr. Zion was not just a papa, but a man of great quality as the driver told him on the way from the hotel.

"Sir, Mr. Ethan has arrived" Maid told Zion.

Ethan does not see Olivette or Sophia, who is the wife of Zion.

"Welcome, Mr. Ethan!" greet Zion from behind her back. The man happened to be turning his back on Ethan as per his current seating position.

"Thank you, sir."

Ethan walks around until he is in the presence of a man he thinks is very handsome at his ripe age. His gaze clashed to make Ethan's heart beat faster. Apparently not only Olivette is able to make his heart suddenly strange, but also Zion, his father.

"What's your name?" ask Zion. Even though she already knew her name from Olivette, it would still be done as she wished.

"Ethan, Sir."

"Full name!" zion's orders again.

"Ethan Reagan Soenser, sir," replied Ethan firmly and without hesitation.

"What's your job?"

The way Zion asked those little things was like an HRD questioning her new employees.

"CEO ER Corporation, sir."

"Homemade or inherited company?"

This is a very confusing answer. Ethan did create ER Corporation on the basis of a split from the papa company as well as his extended family. It also only gets a very small capital injection. So Ethan must fight to advance the company in a long period of time. Ethan is now almost 41 years old.

"It's actually a fragment of the company of the late papa, but over time it's grown rapidly, sir."

Zion seemed to be thinking of something. The atmosphere became silent as if he was undergoing an exam at a university.

"How long have you known my daughter?"

"We've only met a few times, sir."

"Ck, just a few times. Then, you've been after him? What can prove that you're serious about my daughter? Are you willing to give up your life in exchange for my daughter's happiness?"

Ethan quiet. It looks like Zion is a very perfectionist type of man. Then, why would he let Will get away with it? In fact, Ethan feels that Zion is not an ordinary man who is so easy to give up his daughter.

"I'm serious, Sir. I'll give up my life just to make her happy. Moreover, I feel guilty because my ex-wife has made Mrs Olivette have to lose her husband."

Zion stand. He let Ethan go for some time. The goal is to meet Olivette who is currently in her room with Sophia.

"Ah, you finally showed up too, Zion," Sophia said. "Hows it? Do you like it?"

Sophia was worried that her husband would turn down some men just to get a man like Will in the past. Dear, Will has disappointed his daughter.

"Olivette, papa, I'm sorry about you. If you may know, how do you feel about that man? Papa won't forbid you from ever getting close to anyone if you want to."

To be honest Olivette was a noblewoman who was restrained by the rules of her parents. Many men wanted to have it, but only a small part escaped Zion's hands.

Just like with Will. Zion's already picked that guy for something. Now, Zion is no longer curbing her daughter's freedom after the pain inflicted by Will, her papa-chosen ex-husband.

"Papa, Ethan's a good guy. Her mother is good too. Then, what else does Olivette have to do? Does Papa not like it? If Papa doesn't like it, Olivette will."

Sophia seemed to give a code that her daughter liked the man. It's just that his joy was buried along with the fear of his papa's rejection. Zion understood the situation so much that she decided to return to the living room and give her best answer.
