Hope

Before returning to his apartment, Riko took the time to review the location of the dungeon that had been taken over by his guild. The location is at the southern end of the city, right in the coastal area that used to be frequented by Riko.

Ever since the opening of the dimensional gap and becoming a dungeon, the place had become closed to the public. Now his access was limited to members of the Forging Master Guild, or anyone who entered upon the guild's permission.

A guard post welcomed Riko and Zein's arrival to the place. Zein then shows an identity card that was made by Mona. They were allowed inside after identity was confirmed.

Mona had even hired two guards to supervise the place. Riko increasingly had to think about making more money. It seemed like his Guild was growing by leaps and bounds more than he expected.

Of course Riko was satisfied. But behind that success, there is a responsibility that he has to bear. Not to mention he also had to search the headquarters for where his guild gathered later. The more work Riko has to do.

Entering the portal area, some Crystal miners workers appeared to be lined up. They seem to be blacksmiths that Mona hired through a third party. The blacksmiths were working with a profit-sharing system from the number of Crystals obtained.

If Riko had time to mine, the results would have been more, considering he had advantages in mining skills. But for now, the plan seemed to have him buried first. There are other jobs that are nominally bigger.

“You check to dalem?” zein asked after the two got out of the car.

“Ngot necessary. Look from outside. Mona isn't here?” Riko asked back.

“Maybe still take care of administration in the Association office. He has been busy lately. Ngalahin office. Don't you want to appoint the Vice Guild Leader, Rik? Looking at how Mona works, I think she fits in. If it's like me, Jaka or Rizal have to take care of it. Not to mention the lobby here and there. The levy from the Association for Guilds is growing like we're really cool. Mona takes care of everything until the negotiations so as not to be taxed too large. Fear is just corrupted by the Association. You know for yourself how such institutions,” explained Zein at length.

Riko pondered Zein's words. He had yet to think of appointing their Vice Guild Leader. And Zein's opinion has a point. He's helped a lot since Mona entered the Guild. At least the bureaucratic affairs are complicated and make headaches do not need him to face.

“Let's talk after work from Ares Guild,” replied Riko later.

After being satisfied around, the young man decided to return to his apartment and continue the rest of the work from Gamaliel. Maybe he'll disappear again in the dwarves' workshop for more than a week.

Zein promises to install the most advanced security in Riko's apartment, including CCTV and various magic traps that he can fabricate. It was only fitting that all the other guild masters were so strong. Apparently being the leader of a well-respected Guild would have to face such dangers everyday. Although actually Riko knew that Rangga was specifically after him. But it is also possible that Rhea and Gamaliel both face threats of such murder.

Rhea has the ability to listen to the mind. He was also a great Sage. Hence, it was not easy for anyone to make a surprise attack. While Gamaliel is also the strongest swordsman at the moment. They both include respected irregulars. Rhea with the ability of Mind Whisperer, and Gamaliel who has a special skill Steel Body.

Gamaliel skill is no less tough, where he can turn his body into hard metal. So even though he received death threats during sleep, the assassin could not easily hurt him because his Skill Steel Body could activate automatically. His body was instantly immune to weapons as it turned into metal. While Riko only has special abilities Pure Luck. Useful to become an arms and equip trader. But it did not help at all in the battle.

Upon his return to the apartment, the walls of his room were fixed. Zein told him that the hired handymen were indeed low-level blacksmiths who could do such work quickly. Riko's body is not irregular, he will probably work out to be like them. Even so Riko is quite grateful because his house has returned as usual.

The young man laid down his body for a moment before starting to work again in the workshop. Gladys was already there and preparing dinner. He said that he had been looking for information about Lana at his campus. But apparently the assassin girl had applied for college leave since the beginning of the semester. Riko wasn't too worried about it now. Sooner or later he had to face Rangga head on. Hence he focused more on that fair fight in the future.

After eating, Riko was back in the empty room where she used the Weapon Mastery skill. Before entering the workshop the young man took the time to look at his account online. The second payment from Dirga has already come in. The money was quite large, even plus tips for having used mithril for their weapons.

Riko never thought that his account balance could bulge up to that much. Three digit numbers with many zeros behind them. It was a fantastic result when compared to the salary offers from both the Corsage Guild and Ares before. Riko never regretted her decision to reject their offer.

For a moment, the young man remembered his family outside the city. He hadn't contacted them in a long time. Several times his mother called but Riko did not have time to talk much. The young man then had the idea to send a little income to his mother. While busy making online funds transfers, Riko imagines how happy her parents will be. He better call his mom for a minute now. He wanted to hear the expression of pride from his mother.

“Riko? How are you, son. Finally, you called Mom too. How's college?” greet the mother after two notes are heard. Riko's heart immediately melos when her mother inquires about college.

“I'm good, Ma. How is Mom with Papa? Rika is healthy too right?” sahut Riko switched the conversation, trying to avoid the topic of the lecture.

“All healthy, Rik. When are you coming home? He said now what are you doing, these guilds. Yesterday the story was just a piece. If you don't make it home, son. You didn't go to college, did you?” his mother returned to the main topic.

Riko took a deep breath, trying to be patient in the face of the slur. The people closest to him were always easy to make his heart hurt. Even so Riko tried to ignore.

“Mah, I just transferred a little money from my work. Hopefully we can help you with the same school, Rika. I'm healthy here, Mah. Settle as well. Rika's on holiday sometime mess around here, Mah. Later let me buy the ticket,” said Riko back give it up.

His mother was heard breathing from behind the call. “Mama equally Papa does not want to take your nicotine, Rik. But thank you for sending money. Work is good, but still don't forget about your responsibilities in college. Mama and papa still want to see you graduate, so bachelor. Let it be an example for your sister too.”

Riko was silent for a moment. While everyone out there has acknowledged his ability, his mother still has other expectations of him. Riko doesn't want to argue. That is why he chose to give up.

“Iya, Mah. I'll take care of college too. Yaudah, Mah, this is me still working. Tomorrow I call again, yes,” concluded the young man later.

Finally the call ended, followed by a speck of disappointment in Riko's heart.
