HAPPIER
CHAPTER 20

I was made dizzy after reading a group chat from my class alumni at the engineering faculty, it turns out that they came to me as one of the people who will give a word of greeting as a representative of my force during the Akbar Reunion of the engineering faculty which will be held in 2 days.

Akbar's reunion that takes place year after year for alumni, not once I attended. Even this reunion, my plan is not to be present. But apparently friends have registered my name to the organizing committee.

Honestly, I don't like things that smell like reunion. I was really uncomfortable doing it because in reality the reunion was only used as an event to show off success and be proud of each other. Just look at the caretaker of the alumni bond, is there anyone led by a housewife for example or led by those who only work as ordinary employees?

Same with the chairman of the Reunion organizing committee, is the chairman an alumni who now works as a farmer for example?

Do they think that housewives and farmers are lacking insight, less prestigious, less relational and or less pleasing to the eye?

In fact, it could be those who choose to be ordinary housewives or farmers were people who were finished with their world. No more pride to pursue, nothing more to prove to people.

The excitement of the grand reunion of alumni attended by from the first alumni to the most recent alumni finished so boisterous and excited. I swear, if not for appreciating some lecturer who personally asked me to come, I would have been absent again.

I certainly realize that one of the benefits of reunions like this is the opening of relationships and business opportunities that will be profitable among alumni.

Low clamour welcomed the welcome from the alumni representatives and the committee chairman. Likewise, when it was my turn to give a welcome. Not much to say, I just share a little experience and also motivate other colleagues.

After getting off the podium, I walked towards the lecturers I still knew. After meeting them, I approached some people I knew well, both my seniors and my juniors. After that, I gathered with my friends in the studio for years studying on campus.

"How are you doing, beautiful mother?" Sapa Dina was one of my old classmates.

"Alhamdulillah, fine." I answered receiving a helping hand while cipika cipiki. "MaashaaAllah, how many months, Din?" I asked while gently stroking his stomach that bulged like carrying a ball.

"Alhamdulillah, it's been 8 months. Brojol again." The answer.

"Hi Dian, Yoan, Pritha." Sapaku again to other friends as well while cipika cipiki with them.

The four of them are friends, I'm quite with them. In college I didn't have friends as close as Nindi. I'd rather be a jumping flea, get into all the genes. But do not want to also be a permanent member of their genk. For me it's so much better, making friends with anyone, it doesn't need to be chipped and boxed. If it is comfortable and there are benefits, let's go together. If it is uncomfortable and makes it complicated, it is better to stay away. Just like my principle for almost 4 years of college education.

"Come to my wedding next week!" Take Dian to me.

"InshaaAllah, send me an invitation at my number." Saying to him.

"Let me pick you up." Pritha offers a ride.

"Well.it's fun, get a free driver." I smiled broadly.

"Not free, Ber! Then pay to use my dream home design from you."

"You need." said we simultaneously and then laughed together.

"Who doesn't want his house to be built by Beryl Varindra Tadahiro???" Pritha defended herself.

"It could be you, Prit." I said while shaking my hand.

"Eh, we've been together a long time, never again." Said Dina interrupting.

"Eh, yes, it's been a long time. How about you all go to the hotel before my wedding?" Dian's Proposal.

"Good idea." Said Yoan who was busy with her snacks. So his body was filled in all areas.

Finally everyone agreed and we made an appointment to be at the hotel referred to Dian 1 day before the wedding Dian held.

We continued the casual chat throughout the event. Occasionally interspersed with gossip that I feel will never be able to know if not choose to go to their genk compared to other genes.

As the night was getting late, some of us decided to go home early. Especially Dina who is 8 months pregnant, her husband who also happens to be a technical alumni at our campus has also since picked her up.

I circulated my gaze to all corners of the event venue, trying to find faces that I would have known well but hadn't. I rarely go to events like this, so I also don't want to come here in vain without re-establishing communication with those most of whom have not spoken since college.

I saw Tri's mother, one of the lecturers I respected and admired most for her motherly nature and intelligence of course, I saw her chatting with a man in the corner. I feel familiar with the back, but it's impossible because tonight is an alumni event held off campus.

I walked up to him who seemed to be getting out of his place to talk earlier.

"Assalamu'alaikum, mother!" My sap eagerly rushed to grab his right hand and kissed him reverently.

"Wa'alaikum salam. MaasyaAllah.the most beautiful mother's child is now more successful well." That is how he always mentions the positive side of his students.

"Alhamdulillah, it's all because of who used to dong his lecturer." My words do not want to lose flattering and respecting him.

He smiled and shook his head.

"Ah, what are the parents who are still poor in this knowledge." he said humbled. "Oh well, now you can go home and continue the one that I have corrected. Next week you're on campus, and if there's nothing to fix, you can move on to the last chapter." He said again to the man he had accompanied with a position still behind me.

"Good ma'am. Thank you." Thank you." Reply to the man who is possessed by Tri's mother.

Wait, I think I know that voice. Finally he looked up and looked at me. That's Sky.

"Sky, how are you here?" Askaqua.

"You know each other?" It was Tri's mother's turn to ask.

"Yes mom, know. Really know. He's now interning in my office, ma'am." My answer.

"Good, you have a lot to learn from this senior of yours, Sky!" said Tri's mother to Sky.

"Good ma'am." Answer Sky.

"Oh, well, I'm ready to leave, tomorrow I have a trip out of town, so Sky ask for help Script here, rather than his duty to wait for mother for 1 more week." Mother Tri explained.

"Good ma'am. Be careful on the road." I said taking off Tri's mother while shaking her hand again.

I looked at the back of Tri's mother who was slowly away from where we were standing, after which I continued my steps towards the hotel lobby. I didn't bring a car because I was lazy to drive at night so I planned to book a taxi online.

"Wanna go home?" Ask Sky. I forgot there was Sky.

"Yes, it's been a really good night. Tired if you want to wait for the show to finish." I said as I pressed the elevator button and waited for it to open.

"Looks like fate's been really happy to bring us together lately, Ms. Bery." Said a man from behind us.
