I Was Reincarnated As A Dragon

I Was Reincarnated As A Dragon
Chapter 19: The Coup

I am Goro one of the successors of the Aldark family, my family has served the kingdom especially the original royal family for many centuries.

One day I was ordered to escort princess Roha to explore the labyrinth floor, a short story happened an unexpected event, we fell from a steep cliff and then met a white dragon.

The dragon saved us from death, he did look scary but if noticed more clearly he was a very good monster.

The one thing that amazed me so much was that he could use summoning magic that a monster would never be able to do that kind of thing, he was really great, he's the greatest monster I've ever met in my entire life.

The White Dragon monster ordered his call tiger to escort us out of the labyrinth, while he fought against the four Black Scorpion monsters alone.

Long enough to run we got to the teleport line and immediately moved to a safe place, then the dragon tiger escorted us to the gate of the capital.

"Ahhh. I want to quickly go home to the palace." Princess Roha.

"Sure princess! I'll hire a horse-drawn carriage to drive you home." Saying to him.

We had just entered the capital after returning home from a maze floor search, the princess looked extremely exhausted especially after seeing such a terrifying scene that a 14-year-old child should not be able to see.

Ktipak Ktipuk Ktipak Ktipuk

"Daughter. please go up." I said to the princess.

"Yes, thank you, Goro." Legally.

I came with a horse carriage for the princess, slowly the princess got on and got into the carriage while the guard soldiers followed from behind by walking.

.

"In a moment we'll be in front of the palace, princess." Saying to him.

"Thank you Goro, I can't wait to tell you that!" said Princess Roha enthusiastically.

A while later we arrived in front of the palace, there were many soldiers standing guard in front of the royal gate.

Taps... Taps... Taps...

"Welcome, princess...how is your adventure?"

"Yes, it was so stressful, so many unexpected things happened." Princess sahut.

There were several people who came to welcome the return of the princess, one of whom was the older brother of king Erfrid named Orfist in short the uncle of princess Roha.

I didn't like the look in her eyes, like something she was hiding and planning, looking very suspicious.

His gaze was full of cunning, I should always be wary of him, it was possible that he had ill intentions towards the princess.

I did not serve the family of king Erfrid but I served the queen of Clayria and her descendants as the original rulers of the kingdom of Ammonia.

"Are you okay, princess?!" ask him again.

"Yes, of course, uncle, I'm fine even if there are some events that are almost dangerous, but I'm completely fine." Answer princess.

"It's nice to hear it princess, if your father could hear your adventurer he would be so happy." His word.

"Dad why uncle? did something happen to her?" ask the princess.

"Look princess.it's about your father's health condition king Erfrid, a few days ago he suddenly fell unconscious in his study, even to this day he is still unconscious." He said with gloom.

The man spoke with a slight gloom and looked sad, but I knew that if the expression was just a lie, he was not really sad about the king's condition it was just a mask that he put in front of the princess.

He can't be trusted, there must be something going on with the king that obviously it wasn't due to work fatigue, I had to investigate.

The princess looked very saddened to hear the news that king Erfrid was the only old man she had and dear to her.

"Can't be...! that's impossible.it's a lie, uncle! he just returned my letter three days ago!" the princess tried to deny her uncle's words.

"I also want to deny that, but this is the reality of the princess, she is now lying on her bed in a very weak state." he said while reassuring the princess.

"Dad..."

Taps! Taps! Taps! Taps! Taps!

The princess ran very fast across the palace hallway towards the king Erfrid's room, I ordered the guard soldiers to stand guard outside the palace while waiting for my next order while I followed the princess away to the king's room.

Bruckkk!!

"Yes...!"

"Daughter!!"

The princess fell quite hard because she ran very fast.

"Are you okay?!" I said in panic.

" ... "

Taps! Taps! Taps!

She did not answer anything the princess was really very moody, she just fell silent and immediately stood up then ran again at the same speed.

Brakk!!

"Dad!!!"

King Erfrid was actually dying lying limp helplessly.

"Hiks...! hyks...! dad..."

Princess Roha cried as she clutched her father's unconscious hand on the bed.

"I've come home. Dad!"

"Princess calm down. Let the king rest." I tried to calm him down.

As long as the princess holds the king's hand I secretly use judgment magic to the king's body to find out if this has anything to do with magic or not.

But, I couldn't find anything that I found was just damage to some parts of his vital organs like being exposed to a poison and also it didn't seem like any precautions were taken.

There is something strange about the condition of this king is unnatural, this action is like deliberate, if the king is sick there should be nobles or officials who visit the king but this is not there at all, moreover, why the guards here look so suspicious.

I then went to leave the princess to give her space with her father, I did not want to make her even sadder and again I had to investigate the case, the poison was not an easy poison to cure.

While I was looking for the culprit I also had to find the antidote for the poison, I returned to where the four guards I had previously requested were on standby outside the palace.

"You go to the guild and meet my father and give this letter and don't give it to anyone but him, you know!" I said to the four guards.

"Okay, captain!" sahut them.

"Go ahead and meet me at this place tonight." My next.

"Good!"

After giving orders to them I rushed to investigate the case starting from the king's office, I must not waste any time soon night and my worries are growing every second, there's a sign of what this is.

"I have to hurry!"

Using the acceleration skill I managed to get past the guards undetected by them.

Finally I reached the king's office and entered it from the doorstep everything seemed mediocre, I then walked and scanned every inch of the room to find evidence of my suspicions.

"There's nothing in this place..what is it...!"

My eyes were then sidetracked by a drinking glass that was on the king's table there was a little wine left in it, slowly I smelled the drink.

"This smell...! it's not just wine there's something else in it."

Taps! Taps! Taps!

"Wine! there's people!"

I heard no sound of footsteps heading towards this room not just one there but several people, I quickly hid outside the window of the room.

"I feel sorry for you my poor brother, you're going to die in a cunning way, but you don't have to worry, because I'm going to lead this kingdom."

"Truly sir, we can't wait for your leadership."

"What about the little princess, sir?" said the other one.

"There is no need to worry. The foolish princess and her followers will die following her lame father and king and when that happens then the leadership of this kingdom will fall into my hands, hahahaha."

I recognized the voice, he was an Orfist I thought this incident must have something to do with him, he and his followers were going to revolt.

It's dangerous! I have to remind the princess of this.

I was lucky it was dark, I was able to sneak in without being caught by the guards, before meeting the daughter I had to tell dad about the coup plot by the king's brother, Orfist.

As promised, I met the four guards and my father outside the palace precisely in a narrow alley near the palace.

"So, how's it going, Goro?" ask dad.

"It's so bad dad, it's all out of my estimation, it's a much bigger and more dangerous case!" I answered tensely.

"The orphist has planned a rebellion against the king and intends to kill the king's descendants!" my continue.

"So that's it. This is really bad!"

"Dad I want to ask the adventurers for help to stop this coup! can you help?!" ask her.

"Lately, many adventurers have disappeared somewhere! I doubt I can stop this rebellion with just a few people." The answer.

"You yourself how, how many troops can you muster?!" continues asking.

"I'm not sure about Dad either! in this place there was not a single army under the king's command, all of them were just special forces led by Orfists! the only troops there are just the four of them and me." My answer.

"it's difficult, I can only deploy approximately two thousand adventurers!" said father.

Obviously that was not enough, from what I saw the number of rebel forces was more than seven thousand soldiers, he said, five thousand of them stood guard in the palace while the rest were scattered across the capital as patrols and gatekeepers.

"However we must save the daughter of Roha and king Erfrid before it's too late!" said father.

"Sadly enough to get there your efforts!" said someone who suddenly emerged from the darkness.

"Go!! The goro!! save the king and princess Roha!!" yelled my father out loud.

"Okay dad!!"
