Not Me

"Hiksss hiks hyks, I didn't steal Mama's necklace. Not me."

Berliana cried because of the accusations given by Juwita, even though she never entered her mother-in-law's room.

"What's wrong?"

Suddenly from the direction of the entrance came Kenzie who raised the question. He saw how his wife was sitting crying, while his mother ruffled her waist. Beside her was the pretentious Alice, then smiled happily upon seeing her arrival.

"This, Berliana. He stole Mama's jewel necklace!" Juwita pointed towards Berliana with a fierce face.

Beside Juwita, Alice nodded her head while pursing her lips, approving Juwita's accusation to Berliana.

Hearing the accusations made by his mother, Kenzie did not believe what he heard. Kenzie has never questioned Berliana's loyalty and feels deeply in love with her. However, he felt sad because he did not know what to do to help Berliana.

"I'm sorry Kenzie, Ma. But Kenzie can't believe that Berliana stole Mama's necklace. He's not the kind of person who steals other people's stuff, and Kenzie believes this is just a misunderstanding. Maybe you forgot to save or put the necklace," said Kenzie in a soft and firm voice.

Juwita who heard Kenzie's words immediately interjected and provided evidence supporting his accusation. "I've seen with my own eyes that Berliana is always enamored with the jewelry that Mama has. I'm sure he stole my necklace" Juwita said.

Kenzie did not believe the evidence presented by Juwita. "Ma. Kenzie knew Berliana had never been enamored with Mama's jewelry, nor did she need it to feel happy. If Mama still does not believe it, Kenzie will bring Berliana to solve this problem together," said Kenzie in a firm tone.

Juwita who felt considered not to believe in Berliana felt offended and angry. "no need. Mama's got enough evidence to prove that Berliana stole my necklace. But if you don't want to help, Mama understands" Juwita said in a cold voice.

"Just defend your poor wife!" yelled Juwita annoyed because her son did not believe what she said.

Kenzie is disappointed with his mother who does not believe in his wife. However, he felt he could not do much because his mother still did not want to hear his opinion. Kenzie is saddened and hopes there are other ways to prove Berliana's innocence.

Kenzie thinks that Berliana is not a matre woman so glare with jewelry. But out of curiosity, Kenzie tried to ask Berliana.

Kenzie does not believe his mother's allegations about Berliana stealing the necklace. But Juwita gives evidence that Berliana must be glared with all her jewelry, because Berliana is a poor person so never had expensive jewelry.

This incident actually made Kenzie realize that he never gave gifts of jewelry to Berliana other than the wedding ring he used to give at the time of kabul ijab.

Kenzie approached and gently touched his wife's shoulder. "Liana, I need to ask you something. Did you ever steal my mama's necklace?"

Berliana was surprised to hear the question. "Of course not, Mas Kenzie. Why do you ask like that?"

There is a sense of disappointment that is clearly visible from the look of Berliana's face, mixed with the flow of tears because her husband doubted the honesty that the two had.

Kenzie took a deep breath and then said. "My mom said the necklace was gone and she thought you took it. But I can't believe you did that."

Berliana looked at her husband's face with mixed feelings. "Liana really didn't take the necklace, Mas Kenzie. Liana didn't know what was happening, but Liana swore not to do that."

Juwita and Alice sneered at Berliana saying that she was not the thief.

"All right, I believe you. But Mama gave evidence that shows that you must be glared with jewelry."

Berliana nodded several times. "That's not true, Mas Kenzie. Liana never wanted anything that her mother or any other family owned. Liana just wants us to be happy together, that's all."

Liana is a special call from Kenzie, because usually people call her Berliana or Nur if in the boarding school.

"I know, Liana. I never doubted you. But I just want to make sure that everything's okay." Kenzie is trying to be wise.

"Huh! Where's the thief confessing?" sela Juwita is upset.

"Yes, let's go to the room." Kenzie helps Berliana to stand up and walk towards the room.

"Kenzie, mama how's the necklace?" yelled Juwita who felt neglected.

"Find the right one, Ma. If it's not there, Mama can order again, right?" answer Kenzie lightly.

"Hhhhhh!"

"Ck, you Kenzie mas!"

Juwita frowned in annoyance, while Alice could only remain silent with disappointment in her heart. He finds it difficult to get special attention from Kenzie.

***

Kenzie felt guilty for ignoring Berliana's feelings all along. She wanted to comfort Berliana and restore her sense of confidence lost due to Alice and Juwita's treatment.

"Liana, I'm sorry for making you feel neglected. I want to make you feel special and make you happy" Kenzie said as they walked through the mall.

Kenzie asked Berliana to get ready. He felt guilty for never taking Berliana for a walk to the Mall so that Berliana's heart was slightly entertained.

Berliana smiled and replied, "It's okay, Mas Kenzie. Liana understood that Mas was busy with work. Liana is happy, Mas Kenzie wants to believe in Liana."

Kenzie bought some clothes and accessories for Berliana. He wanted to give small gifts to make Berliana feel happy.

"We don't shop together like this huh, Liana. I'm happy to see you smiling happily" Kenzie said with a smile.

Berliana was flattered by Kenzie's treatment. He feels appreciated and loved by Kenzie. Although there are still problems to be resolved, Berliana hopes that her relationship with Kenzie can improve and become more harmonious.

Although there is ultimately no evidence that Berliana took Juwita's jewel necklace, Kenzie realizes his own mistake. He began to pay attention to his wife by taking her for a walk and shopping.

Earlier, Kenzie finally realized his mistake after checking his Mama's necklace, which he said was missing and found her in a closet. Kenzie felt very sorry for allowing himself to be almost consumed by the slander made by his mother and doubted Berliana's loyalty as his wife.

Kenzie felt guilty and tried to correct the mistake by paying more attention to Berliana.

That is why he took Berliana to the mall and shop together, trying to show his love and attention to his wife.

"We're going there yuk!"

Berliana simply complied, as her hands were brought towards the jewelry store. She had no idea what her husband was doing at the jewelry store, which of course most of the people who came were women.

Berliana was delighted and moved by the attention given by her husband. She feels that Kenzie really loves her and feels guilty because she previously let her mother's suspicions get in the way of her relationship with Kenzie.

"Sorry, Mr. Kenzie. There was a big event at the boarding school, and Liana was eager to go home to celebrate. All right, Liana went to the ponpes?" berliana asked as they were in the car heading home.

"of course. When's show?" ask Kenzie.

"Three, but Liana wanted to come g early in order to help prepare for the event."

Kenzie nodded in understanding. "All right, I'll come with you. I'd like to see what the show at your boarding house looks like."
