Chapter 12 Lost

Dayu's body lay unconscious on the edge of the ravine. The state of the dense forest was quiet, the occasional sound of birds chirping.

Ciiiits! Ciiiits! Ciiiits!

The sound of birds alternating with the toad screaming.

Kroooong! Kroooong!

The warmth of the sunlight swept across Dayu's face. A moment later, Dayu's body moved and her eyes opened.

"Ohhh...." Dayu covered her face with her hands, blocking the eye-piercing sunlight.

Slowly, Mayu got up and sat down. His eyes looked around, his mind trying to remember what happened.

"Mita! Where is Mita?" Sayu remembered her best friend, "What happened? Where is Mita?" Dayu muttered, rising to stand up.

He remembers clearly. Last night, he and Mita were on a bus. Buses are weird, because everyone inside is like the undead. Suddenly, the bus walked through the thickets, until it entered into the ravine. When they woke up, they had been in the hamlet. They were forced to eat very good food. But why did he feel so sleepy after eating? He doesn't remember what else happened. Only until there is what is remembered by Dayu.

Dayu stared in all directions, he remembered his best friend.

"Where are we?" Mata Dayu is back to look for. But only silence is visible. Finally, Dayu stepped slowly, shouting to call Mita.

"Sim.....! Ta.....! Mita....!"'s.....!" dayu's voice split the silence, "Mita.....!" Dayu called back, no voice returned Dayu's call. Only the sounds of the forest beasts were heard alternately.

Dayu continued to step, unaware that the road had taken him further and further into the forest. After a long walk, he felt tired, his legs could no longer step, he finally sat on a shady tree.

"Hauuuus.I was thirsty." Dayu's breath went up and down quickly. His head began to feel dizzy, his eyes became twitched. Slowly, Dayu's eyes closed and his body fell lying on the tree root.

Not far from Dayu's body, a middle-aged man dressed in white noticed Dayu. The man was a man who had fought with the man who gave Dayu a will. The man quickly approached Dayu. After arriving beside Dayu, the man would touch Dayu, but his hand was hit by someone.

"Akhhhhh!" the man cried out in pain, then held his hand, his eyes staring furiously at the black-clothed man.

The man in black laughed.

"Ha ha ha ha. What do you want with that girl, Hasan? Are you old enough to mess with girls?"

The white-clothed man named Hasan was getting angry.

"Don't talk recklessly, Bahar! I'm gonna take the girl back to town." Hasan snapped at the man dressed in black.

"For what? You don't interfere in my employer's business." Bahar's eyes glared.

"I don't care about your employer's business. I just don't want your employer to sacrifice this girl for her sake."

"I said ....You don't interfere!" Bahar shouted, then attacked Hasan.

The fight between the two men was fierce. Bahar pulled out a deadly move. Hasan defended himself, then tried to retaliate. Attack each other, and reciprocate happens. Many times Bahar launched punches and kicks towards Hasan's body. Hasan did the same. One blow struck Hasan's chest. Hasan's body was pushed far back. The opportunity was used by Bahar to run fast, then as hard as possible to kick the heart of Hasan. As a result, Hasan was struck, then fell to the ground with fresh blood coming out of his mouth. Bahar's face looks satisfied staring at Hasan's body lying motionless.

"You're no match for me, Hasan. Your science is still far below me." Bahar smiled haughtily. Then he lifted up Hasan's body and carried it behind a large tree. Bahar put Hasan's body under the tree.

"You just stay quiet here. I'll finish my business."

After that, Bahar stepped quickly towards Dayu.

"Damn it....! Because of that bunian, this girl got out of my hand!" Bahar grumbling. Then, he woke Dayu.

"Son, wake!" Bahar shook Dayu's arm, "Banguuun, son!"

Dayu's arm was again shaken Bahar, with a rather strong, until Dayu wriggled.

The girl's eyes opened and widened in shock at the presence of the black-clothed man.

Bahar smiled, nodding.

"Wake up, son." Bahar holds Dayu's shoulder, helping her to wake up.

Dayu leaned her body on the tree trunk.

"I'm thirsty." Mayu felt her throat was very dry.

Bahar picked up a bottle of drink hanging from his waist. Then, open the bottle cap and help Dayu to drink.

"Why can you be here?" ask Dayu wonder. Bahar closes the bottle of drink, then hangs it on the belt.

"I came to pick you up on purpose."

"Pick me up? What's it for, you picked me up?"

"You must be going to your late father's house, right?"

"Yes, sir." Dayu nodded.

"Let's come with me. I'll take you there."

"But how do you know I'm here?" Dayu felt astonished.

"I went to your house yesterday afternoon. Since you are not around, I feel that you will definitely go to your late father's house. I got on the bus carrying the tires for the bus you were riding. When you get there, you are not there. Then, I followed the trail you left behind."

"Sprints? I guess I'm not leaving a trace."

"You don't realize that. The trace you left behind was the scent of your body. You can smell your body from a kilo meter away."

The words of the man dressed in black made Dayu's body creep.

"The words of my Father scare me." Dayu's voice trembled.

"You must not be afraid of the Father. I just want you to get to your late father's house, safely. I will protect you from the subtle." Bahar tries to calm Dayu down, "As long as you haven't reached your destination. You will always be followed by the subtle creatures. Because, they want to take your body."

"What....what, you mean?" Dayu is getting scared.

"Calm down, kid. Don't be afraid, you'll protect you from them." Bahar said, while his mouth was kamat-kamit, then he blew Dayu's face.

Bahar's breath emitted a thin white smoke. The smoke covered Dayu's face, then disappeared. Now, Dayu felt her feelings calm.

"Why are all these subtle creatures willing to take my body?" Jayu asked lirih.

"I don't know their reasons yet. You better come with me now. We go to your late father's house, before nightfall."

"But, what about Mita, my friend, sir?" Mayu remembered Mita.

"You must be at your late father's house, so you can meet your friend."

"Can I meet Mita there?"

"Yes. Your friend is waiting for you there."

"We're at dad's house?"

Dayu felt astonished, hearing Mita was already at her late father's house. However, he did not ask any more and followed Bahar who walked ahead of him.

Dayu was not aware, the presence of a horde of subtle creatures that were not far behind him. The horde of invisible creatures followed Dayu.
