Arriving at the Border Town of the Two Regions, Elrei City

The next day, they were close to the city of Elrei because they only rested at night. For breakfast and lunch, they do it in a horse-drawn carriage on the way.

"We are close!" shouts Julian.

The path they walked through began to widen and the trees on both sides also looked less. Then they saw there was a big city with meadows around it.

The city was like an old city because there were so many vines on its walls. But Julian knew that the plant had a special role in defense.

Julian parked them horses near the gate, he went down and talked to the gatekeeper about the situation of the young elves being kidnapped.

As he spoke, Julian also looked at the elves in front of him. This was the first time Julian had seen an elf in this world except for the young elves.

Just like in the fantasy stories on earth. Elves have long, pointed earlobes, they have bright skin, with light blonde or dark blonde hair.

"What's!? Is what you said true!?" the guard shouted loudly which made people look towards him.

"Yes, they're all in the carriage. Are you gonna see it?" julian asked while pointing towards the back.

"Later, first bring it into the city and follow me. I'll call the captain of the guard because I can't take care of this alone" said the guard.

"All right." Julian nodded then returned to his carriage.

After telling the young elf not to worry, he drove the carriage following the guard and behind him was Claire with her carriage.

The guard led Julian to an open area nearby. Then there was an elf wearing the same uniform as that guard over there.

"Captain, like this," the guard told me about the problem.

"What!?" the elf who turned out to be the guard captain clearly frowned.

The captain walked up to Julian and asked, "Excuse me, what's your name?"

"Hello, my name is Julian Roley." Julian introduced himself.

"Mr Julian, can I see the kidnapped elf?" asked the guard captain respectfully as he knew that the human in front of him was a noble.

In contrast to humans, the ones with surnames were only nobles, wealthy merchants, or people of quite high status.

Elves and dark elves used to have surnames. The difference is, ordinary elves only have two-sentence names while nobles or elves with high status have three-sentence names.

"Of course, they're all in two chariots" Julian nodded.

With Julian's permission, the guard captain looked into the horse carriage and sure enough there were many young elves inside. He heaved a sigh of relief as none of the elves were injured or suffered any serious trauma.

He could see that their condition was fine even they chatted cheerfully with Karina and the others.

"By the way, do you know this?" Julian drove the knife that Zain had given him.

"That knife!?" The guard captain widened his eyes in surprise to see the knife in Julian's hand.

"The reaction is exaggerated, does Grandpa Zain's friend elf have a high identity?" thought Julian.

"Sorry, this is given by someone who has an elf acquaintance here. I just showed it to ask, no other meaning." Julian kept the knife back.

"The identity of the knife owner is the Royal Family, Sir," said the guard captain in a more respectful tone compared to before.

The guard captain did not expect that the human in front of him was a person who had a very high status because he could know people who were equal to the royal family.

Julian has no special status. But even if Julian knew what the guard captain was thinking, he didn't really care.

"Royal Family?" Julian frowned because he did not expect that Zain's acquaintance was from the Royal Family.

"Hm, all right, let's talk later. Now, what about the young elves? Did I take her straight to the orphanage or was there some things I needed to do?" ask Julian.

"Master can directly take them to the orphanage but I have to report to the owner of the city, so maybe in the next few days you will be called by the city lord" said the captain of the guard.

"Alright, I'd rather be. Then please yes, I will drive them back to the orphanage" Julian said as he walked back to his carriage.

"Good!" the guard captain bowed his body slightly.

Julian got onto the horse carriage and asked the young elves where their orphanage was located. Then after they answered, Julian immediately went there.

Their orphanage was located on the outskirts of the city on the west side, so Julian went to the left as he came from the south gate.

After a few minutes, they saw that there was an almost uninhabitable old building in front of them and a hanging board with the inscription 'Elrei Orphanage'.

Julian touched his chin and thought, he knew that the orphanage building was once a luxury mansion because the design of the building was quite luxurious and had a spacious yard.

But maybe there are some events that make this building abandoned and now used as an orphanage that accommodates children elves in the city of Elrei.

Julian drove the horse-drawn carriage into the courtyard and parked it in an open area. As he descended, he noticed that an old-looking elf was coming out of the building.

"He must be the head of this orphanage when viewed from his aged appearance," Julian thought.

"Excuse me, do you need anything?" asked the old elf politely as he could see that Julian was wearing quality clothes.

Julian did not answer the old elf's question, he shouted to the young elves, "Kids, come out! We're at the orphanage!"

After Julian shouted, the young elves immediately jumped down from the horse carriage and saw that they had indeed reached the orphanage, where they were staying.

Then when they saw that there was an old elf standing beside Julian, they shed tears and immediately embraced the old elf.

"Kids!? Where have you been!?" the old elf clearly knew that the orphanage children were gone for a few days.

"All right, you're calm, aren't you? Now you guys play for a minute? Brother will talk to your nanny first" Julian said softly.

The women also invited the young elves to play for a while as they knew Julian would have a serious talk with the old elf.

"My name is Julian Roley, I saved them from the slave traders while they were near the border of human territory with the elves' territory" Julian said.

The old elf was very surprised, he held his chest because the information Julian gave made his chest hurt knowing that the young elves were kidnapped and would be made into slaves.

"Thank you, thank you very much." the old elf cried with sadness and happiness because the young elf was saved by Julian.

"Sama-sama," Julian said as he waited for the old elf to calm down.

After a while, the old elf calmed down and he told her her name was Lenna Presven, the nanny and head of the Elrei Orphanage.

"Oh, so you bought this building to make an orphanage? You're really very good" said Julian, who was surprised by the orphanage's story.

It turns out that Lenna used to be an adventurer, because she suffered injuries that made her body weak, she decided to use her savings to buy this building and create an orphanage.

Lenna also gave orphaned children their surnames so that they would not be reminded of their sad past and that they might be excited by a new surname.

"Yes, I'm also an orphan, so I want to give warmth to the orphans" Lenna nodded.

As they spoke, there were several men and women who entered the courtyard while carrying some items. When they saw the young elves playing, they dropped their luggage and immediately hugged the young elves.

Then, Lenna invited Julian and the others to enter the building because it was late afternoon and the children might also be tired from the trip.
