ISHIHARA (Blind Color-Real Story)

ISHIHARA (Blind Color-Real Story)
Prayer 30 Nights 1

July 2, 2008.

Not to be in vain born into the world.

Like that sentence I read on a piece of paper between the sheets of paper in our room.

Last night Adi and I studied full time to face SNMPTN scheduled for the day

these.

I've been deepening the biological cycle scheme more. Caraku memorizes it by taking a syllable at the beginning of the sentence. I

string it up into funny sentences, donkey stairs. That way the sequence of cycles with scientific terms is easier to remember. Then

I worked on the math problems that were still left on the tutoring sheet. While Adi, I saw him fill in the Indonesian language. Next he did some math. During this time Adi was weak in

calculate the count, whereas in daily life he is quite a calculation especially in profit and loss. Announcement of the results of Try Out once he got a minus value for Mathematics. I can't help him in the SNMPTN later.

Although the location of our SNMPTN exam is the same but the exam room is different.

Not to be in vain born into the world.

Adi who wrote that sentence, I know so because Adi sleeps slower than me. I

no longer read the previous sentences written by Adi, complaining and the spirit of his life's struggle on the scribbles of the paper. Because that one sentence touched my heart. About the meaning of our struggle today to pass SNMPTN. About the life that must be fought so as not to be in vain born into the world. The struggle today should yield results. I have to pass SNMPTN.

We had to hurry, leave for the exam early. Adi's still rubbing. He's still sleeping. Azan dawn

unheard. The dawn will come in an hour.

“Adi Wake up ! Wake up..” I rocked Adi's body.

“Adi ..”

“Hoaa ..ahh yoo” Answer Adi. It's still not stable.

“Bangun”

“Makasih” Adi sit down immediately. Then we immediately rushed to take a shower, alternating. Breakfast with

the food we had last night. It's set because before the stomach exam must be filled, so Mother's message. Then we prayed at dawn, calling the parents to ask for prayer. After that we set off on foot to the base of the oplet in the morning sun

not seen. Only his beam of light made dawn break

the shadow of our bodies.

been filled by the oplet. SNMPTN participants have known that the issue of traffic jams always resonates with every SNMPTN. All participants planned to face it by coming in the morning.

Oplets do not enter the campus streets. Street's jammed. Me and Adi walked inside

campus. Arriving, we saw the test plan that was usually affixed to the wall. Then looking for our exam room, not long we found it, one building but different floors, Adi downstairs, I'm one floor above it. Arriving at the lower floor of Adi's exam location, I said “May Sukses”.

“Hopefully Success is also”

The reply. I'm going up the stairs. Arriving on the second floor. I found my room.

I found the same row of numbers as my exam numbers on the most tables

the back and leftmost complete with the right photo of my face is there. A safe position for me because it's the backmost and most angular. Also a comfortable position because there is a window next to me the wind freely blows if the window opens a little.

The exam will take place at 7:30am Western Indonesia time, there is still an hour left. I

calm down and set up a strategy while waiting for the entrance exam supervisor.

One by one the examinees entered my room. I caught a glimpse of their test card being squeezed in the chest. I know that they also come from different

province in Sumatra.Time continues until the exam table is no longer empty. All the participants have come. There is time left before the problem sheet and LJK given I use by arranging the strategy to face

Matematka Basis, Bahasa Indonesia, and English. The three main subjects that the government says are vital subjects in life. Therefore, in the last years, these three subjects became

national exam graduation.

I want to catch a score on Basic Math. The reason Basic Mathematics has a definite answer. Unlike the Indonesian language which demands carefulness and accuracy because

often the answer options given are made dubious. In addition, it also requires the ability to read quickly. Likewise with English which looks not much different from the TOEFL test only without Listening Section. English requires mastery of tenses and vocabulary.

Test sheets and answers are given early, the intention of the supervisor so that we all work on SNMPTN tests simultaneously at 7:30 am precisely.

Not wasted by time distribution on the back table. There's still three minutes to wait for 7:30. I can't wait. I'm sitting in the back corner. I peeked through the sheet for a little. I peeked at Basic Math. I started early. It means a lot to me. The difference in the thin score will determine a fate.

Quietly I began to cross out on the question sheet, no blur provided. Until 7:30 exactly

clinked. I've entered into the third question of Basic Mathematics. The second by second that passed was my struggle. The seconds that will come for 2 hours 30 minutes SNMPTN is my future. 150 questions are decisive, there is

my father's dream, there's my mother's prayer. I focused on my exam as if I were the only one in this room.
