Darussalam in Arabic means garden of salvation. Darusslam is an educational area in Banda Aceh, because here there are two large campuses, namely Intitut Agama Islam Negeri Ar-Raniri and Syiah Kuala State University, in addition to several SMA, MAN, and others, and Primary and Secondary Schools in some corners. Darussslam as an educational center has been in effect since the era of the Aceh Sultanate. This is known from the presence of ulama headstones in the campus area, for example around the rectorate of Syiah Kuala University there are tombs of scholars from Turkey. The clerics came from all over, even from faraway lands, Turkey, Arabia, and india. They come to learn and teach

various disciplines of science. Science practiced with virtue will lead to salvation. This area is called Darussalam.

I called Ustazah with Bu Ustad, while her husband with Mr. Ustad. They are a young couple who just got married a few months ago. They're taking us to

Darusslaam's. Darussalam is located away from the city, about 30 minutes. But still in the shade of Banda Aceh City, specifically the campus area. Outside the campus fence, the Darusslaam ring road has been located in an administrative area outside the city of Banda Aceh. So said Mr. Ustad, while driving Mr. Ustad cool to tell us about the history of Darussalam. He is a lecturer at IAIN in Darusslaam

also and alumni from universities in Egypt.

After passing through the meusra junction, the car turns left across the Lamnyong Canal, passing through

the bridge.

“Below this bridge lay the tombs of tsunami victims who are no longer recognized,” Sir story

Ustad.

“Innalillahi..” I saw a stretch of grass on the side of the canal below. The canal leads straight to

the sea to the north. It is said that this canal was built by the Dutch colonists by mobilizing the people of Aceh. The car kept passing the bridge, far ahead of a gate. The two-lane gate. Darussalam Gate.

The Darussalam area is an educational complex. To the north is the IAIN Ar-Raniry area,

from the coastline in the north to the main Teuku Nyak Arief road in the south. While on the south side of the main road Teuku Nyak Arief is an area

Syiah Kuala University. Or to the left of the main road is IAIN Ar-Raniry and to the right of the main road is Syiah Kuala University.

Syiah Kuala University has modern buildings. A small number of the old buildings

one-story. Mr. Ustad said, after the tsunami, international aid came to rebuild some of the destroyed buildings. Because Darussalam is bordered by the beach to the north, many buildings were destroyed by the tsunami.

Even when the tsunami came, there were some bodies stuck in the fences of the southern building, the Faculty of Medicine Building.

Our car turned right into the streets that cut through the university area in a box-shaped form

box with four intersections. I kept watching in amazement, because at the University

Syiah Kuala there are still old buildings that survived Tsumani. Some of the old buildings were demolished and empty. On land

empty there are ruins of the building.

a building from its height. But how far the foundation is stuck in the depths of the earth. The foundation is what determines how resistant a building is to hit and shake. The foundation that the eye did not see

like the faith needed in the face of various obstacles and trials of life.” Advice Mr. Ustad.

“Most buildings are damaged, then destroyed all sir?,” my question from behind. Mr. Ustad in front is driving next to Bu Ustad. Me and Dad are in the back.

“Sisa- the rest of the old building is destroyed, then in the new building again.”

“International Help...” I saw various building signs. The mark corresponds to the logo of the international company. The car continued to turn south across the FMIPA Building with a large, old tree in front of it. Then keep turning left to

The magnificent and modern Engineering Faculty building. The two-lane road, neat and smooth, on the side is bounded by a deep gutter, as deep as a ditch in the city of Padang the other day. After the gutter there is a sidewalk with shade trees, Tanjung Bunga tree neatly necked. This is the Darussalam Ring Road.

The car continued to drive away from the Engineering Faculty Building with the rest of the old helicopter in front of it,

Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and arrived at a building on the right side, the last building at the south gate. Because every building in front of him has a wall that says

name of. The name consists of two letters in one language, Latin letters and Malay written arabic letters. Then I read a series of Arabic letters that were mutually

connect that.

“Faculty... Medicine..”I spell.

“This is the Faculty of Medicine Dek. Here later adek will lecture.” Obviously Mr. Ustad. I saw a new building. In the back there are still several buildings that are in the process of development.

My father and I looked at the Faculty of Medicine building in amazement. Mr. Ustad driving slowed down. Turn again to the right towards the south gate. The South Gate is much quieter than the Darussalam Gate in the west. The South Gate is the access to the village. After passing the South Gate will be outside the administrative city of Banda Aceh. Village in Aceh Besar Regency with administrative center in Janto City.

We passed through the south gate into a kampong called Limpok. Together with Mr. Ustad, we went around looking for a cost, Kos Aneuk Agam, agam means male, and inong artinyo female. Not long ago I finally got the cost of a new building built, still new.

I hired him for the next year. So that I have obtained the closest cost to the south gate, the Gate of the Faculty of Medicine.

After getting the cost, Mr. Ustad also drove us around, shopping for the needs of boarding children. Student needs. Mr. Ustad is more familiar with it because he is an alumnus of a university in Egypt. He used to be a boarding boy long ago, abroad too. It tells everything that matters, from the rice cooker, to the mattress, to the fan

wind, lermari, chairs, dispensers, to plastic chairs and buckets. Dad bought it all for me. Dad is happy. Dad's a lot of money from what he borrowed at the bank.
