Joy: A Hope's

Joy: A Hope's
Chapter 2: The Quotation

It's late at night. Slowly the dark covered the entire earth. In a settlement residents dim light reflected in the darkness of the night, assisted by the moonlight that is not how much.

There were some people still passing by on the street. Various activities continued even though night had arrived. They continue to work as if tomorrow there is no time to continue tomorrow.

The only brightest and most prominent place in the village is the patrol post. Some of the fathers who schedule pickets with the village youth are running night patrols. It seems that the security and welfare of the village has been asked for some time lately. There have been many robberies or even the theft of citizen items. Usually the perpetrators carry out actions when night has arrived. Probably looking safe. Therefore, the local government requires residents to patrol in rotation for the sake of mutual welfare.

Ari and Eros, his father, also participated in patrol activities that night. The atmosphere is crowded. Noise was created among the crowd of men. My dad is playing cards. While the youth, some are playing guitar while singing, some are busy playing games on gadgets, and there are also idly mengombal village women who happen to pass by in the patrol post.

“Ari, where already?” works asked one of the fathers to Ari who was playing the guitar in the corner of the post with two friends.

Ari stopped strumming her guitar strings and looked at the father who asked just now. Instantly his bright face turned gloomy. Before answering, he glanced at Eros who was now also glancing at him. Only the indecipherable look and look Ari got.

Eros quickly turned his face away, as if he did not want to interfere with his son's affairs. The thing that made Ari bite the lower lip because he did not know what to answer.

“Ah, anu--”

“Goodnight, Om. Good night brothers!”

Just now Ari was about to answer the father's question earlier, someone had already interrupted his speech. A loud voice greeted the eardrum and quieted the atmosphere for a moment.

All pairs of eyes stared at the one object in front of them. A teenage boy had just come into their midst while showing off a wide smile. A smile is like a happy virus to people. Some of them joined the smile, contracting the smile of the teenage boy.

“Night, Dek Joy,” reply one father represents everything.

“What's the night-night here?” tanya Eros sounded cynical. He stared without interest at the presence of the youngest son. If everyone might welcome the teenager, then it is inversely proportional to Eros which only displays a flat look.

The atmosphere instantly became silent. Not heard a small talk. Only the sound of crickets interrupting them and the sound of frogs twitching each other. It seems that they are waiting for the continuation of Eros' words whose romances are about to scold the child.

Amongst the silence within the crowd, there was someone who was secretly backing a faint smile. Ari stroked the chest, sighing in relief. She is very grateful for the arrival of Joy, her sister. Thanks to the boy who often dijahilnya, he was in spite of the question father who had asked about his work. Shame Ari admitted if all this time he was still an unemployed. Ah, not unemployment either, just not having a steady job.

“Father already told you at home, right? Don't come in here. You are too small to go on patrol. If there is anything, you are also troubled with others.”

The smile on Joy's lips slowly faded. The teenage boy lowered his head in fear when he got a scolding from Eros. His father was not responsible when lecturing his son even in public though.

“Sorry, Sir,” great-granddaughter Joy still with her head down.

Some people looked at him concernedly, and some others deliberately distracted each other by doing random things. Don't want to interfere.

In the next second, Joy braced herself to raise her head. A thin smile that seemed forced back etched. His gaze descended onto a bag of crackles in the hand. That thin smile turned into a slick smile. In fact, Joy came here to give the crackle containing the food to the post guards.

Joy's hands extend out in front of Eros with a bag of crackles. Realizing the confused look of the father who immediately went down to the crackle. However, I also accept.

“Tipan from Mamak, Sir. Earlier, Mamak made fried bananas and told Joy to bring it here,” said Joy full of explanation.

The thing that makes some residents call out for an impromptu snack on a cold night like this. Where the fried banana is still anget again. Instantly the fried banana ran out of ludes in an instant when Eros opened the lid.

“This, so good!”

“Still, yes, Joy. Say hello to your mother, yes.”

Eros, Ari, and Joy stumbled into thin smiles in silence. They are happy and grateful at the same time. Praise given by the citizens to their great women in turn.

“Siap, Om. Back love,” reply Joy return their compliments one by one.

After feeling his job there was done, Joy went home. “Yes, Joy came home first, yes, Om, Brother! The spirit of his patrol.”

Don't forget that a sweet smile is the closing of the man's words.

When Joy had turned around and was about to leave, her steps stopped when Ari called her name.

“Ari, wait! Brother follow.” Ari moved from her seat.

After saying goodbye to his fathers and friends, Ari walked over to Joy. The two then passed by and walked in tandem leaving the led friends of Ari who was fixed on the young man because of the cancellation.

“Ari, tomorrow you have to leave for the city! Find the right job. Don't embarrass you again for continuing to be useless unemployed like this!”

The next morning, Ari got a long lecture from the father after returning from the patrol. The young man was immediately interrogated speaking four eyes.

Ari could only bow her head fearlessly against Eros. Even just staring at the man's eagle bead, Ari was disinclined. Eros if already angry more than a hungry lion. Ari is looking for safety so as not to get a tantrum.

“I-iya, Sir,” says Ari timidly.

Soon Santi came to them. Sitting on the rattan bench next to Ari. They were sitting in a circle in the living room. Eros chose silence when his wife had arrived. She doesn't want to advise Ari any more, or she will end up fighting with Santi.

Slowly, Santi's palm was raised upward stroking his son's back. Softly eluted. Calming the young man whose face looked crumpled was not as bright as yesterday on the day of Joy's graduation, his sister.

“Ari, you are patient, yes. The words of the Father who might hurt Ari do not need to be heard, yes?” santi said softly, slowly the woman's heart softened and began to treat Ari and Joy fairly after hearing her eldest son's speech yesterday.

Ari's head slowly lifted. Slightly feeling calm as the rubbing on his back was soft. A faint smile rose on the face as Ari muttered, “Still, Mak.”

While Eros chose to move from there before being carried away by emotions if he continued to hear the words of Santi who seemed to oppose his words to Ari. Now his emotions have accumulated in the crown. Once again inviolable, it is certain to explode like an atomic bomb with no residue.

When the atmosphere began to calm down, Joy appeared among her family and told them something important. The man ran hastily out of the room as if being chased by a ghost when he got a message from someone. Do not forget the look of girang decorate his face.

“Mak, Sir, Joy finally accepted in High School Department of Indonesian Language. Joy passed the test. Joy can special invitation for school in the city!” pekik Joy told.

“The idea that Joy will be a writer soon will come true, Lord. Hopefully, amin.” It was unrelenting that the man was deep in heart. A feeling of pleasure was filling him at this moment. Uncountable feelings of happiness.
