Chapter 78 - Jeff's Regret

Kirana could not stop staring at the door of the room that was closed, a few minutes earlier, Queen was brought into the room with a special doctor of cancer, also Andre's doctor who was directly to the hospital after being contacted by Carina. 

"Oh my God, protect Queen. May he be well and his sickness be lifted." Kirana muttered, she kept praying for the Queen. She did not cry anymore, but she never felt calm before knowing the state of her sister. 

"Kiran, sit down, son." Carina said as she patted the empty seat beside her, while Jeffran only fell silent while staring blankly straight ahead.

Surprised? Obviously, though Queen was fine even welcomed her with a sweet smile when she came home. Sorry, of course. Why didn't he accompany his wife, but he knew the Queen was right. 

"No, Ma. I'm just here, waiting for the doctor to finish examining Queen." Answer Kirana lirih. Carina smiled faintly, her real Kirana is indeed a good woman. The Queen's choice was absolutely right.

"Sit down, your legs will hurt." Radit said, he did not want to see his other daughter-in-law had to stand alone in a state of unease. 

"No, Pa. I'm just here, I won't be able to calm down until I hear from brother." Answer Kirana kekeuh. Finally, both Carina and Radit let Kirana stand while waiting for the results of the doctor's examination. 

'Brother, brother must be healed. We have common goals that we have to achieve, brother.' Inner Kirana.

Shortly thereafter, the doctor came out with sterile clothes and a mask that covered his face.

"Mistress Queen's family?" His question, made Kirana immediately approach, then followed Jeff and the two women's parents.

"I'm his sister, doc." 

"I'm her husband, doctor." Answer Jeffran. 

"We're her parents, how's our daughter, doctor?" Carina asked worriedly.

"His condition is getting worse, we suggest that Mrs Queen be treated here so that her condition is monitored by a specialist." 

"Of course doc, but what about my wife now?"

"Madam Queen is still unconscious, her circumstances are very drop. The disease is getting worse, let alone his brain cancer which is already in stage four." The doctor's words left Jeff and Queen's parents shocked. Brain cancer? Since when?

Kirana was not surprised, as she had already learned of this from the Queen during their meeting in the park. But, seeing the reaction shown by the two women's parents, Kirana was sure that Queen also hid her illness from her own parents. 

Queen is really a strong and strong woman facing her illness, even she has a disease as deadly as it was even in the last stage though, he said, he still maintained his principle to hide the other diseases he had dreamed of all this time. 

"Brain cancer, doc?"

"Yes, Lady Queen has stage four brain cancer. I'm sorry, don't you know about this?"

"No, doctor. We only know that our daughter has uterine cancer." Reply Radit. Even the doctor just gawked at the explanation of his patient's parents.

"If it were just uterine cancer, Lady Queen wouldn't be this flat."

"Is it too late to handle it? Operations like?" Jeff asked, to be honest he was so surprised to hear this. Since when does his wife have a disease that is more deadly than the cancer that he had been dreaming of?

"Sorry, Sir. There is a possibility, though it is very small. Probably only 1%, because the cancer cells have spread." 

Degh's..

"God, what have I done! Aarrghhh, fuck." Jeff grabbed his own hair, making Kirana immediately prevent what was done by the man. 

"One percent, doc? That small is the possibility?" Ask Carina. The doctor nodded his head slowly, making Carina hysterical but Radit immediately hugged her, trying to calm his wife.

"Father, our son Pah.." Radit just kept hugging his wife without any expression, he himself still could not believe what he heard today. 

"I'll excuse you, Miss. You can see the patient after moving into the treatment room." 

"Good, doc." Answer Kirana lirih. Seeing everyone's reaction, made his heart ache. How they were all so devastated by the fact that had just been revealed.

"Bag.." Jeff looked at Kirana with his wry gaze, then hugged the woman and finally the man's cry broke. 

As strong as a man's shoulder, still if it comes to people he loves, he will still look weak. That's how Jeff is today. In the past, she became a backstop for Kirana during her most difficult time. Now, it's the woman's turn to back Jeff who is in the most difficult and painful time. 

"Cry, Mas. It will make your heart calmer." Kirana rubs her husband's back gently, though his body sinks behind Jeff's large tall body. 

"How can I ignore my own wife's health, baby? I let him fight on his own, what kind of man am I." 

"No, Mas. Don't talk like that, sister Queen must have her own purpose why hide her illness from Mas and her parents." Kirana. 

"I'm sorry, Kiran. But is that useful now?"

"No, it's useless now. So don't blame yourself." Jeff looked up his head, then looked at Kirana's calm face, despite the traces of tears under his eyes. 

"You know about all this, Kiran?" Ask Jeff. Slowly, Kirana nodded.

"Why don't you tell me, huh!" Jeff snapped making Kirana stunned instantly, his heart felt thumping. This was the first time Jeff raised his voice. 

"Bag.."

"Jeff, never raise your voice in front of your own wife." Radit's sweat made Jeff realize, what he had done to Kirana was completely wrong. The man was in control of emotions, especially when he saw Kirana nod her head. 

"Bag.." Call Kirana, when you see her husband leaving from that place, somewhere.

"Pursue him, Kiran. Accompany her, she is currently feeling devastated by all this." 

"Good, Ma." Kirana answered, she picked up her bag and ran after her husband.

While in the room, Andre stared at the body of the woman who had been his dream woman with nanar. He had warned the woman many times, and advised her to tell Jeff about her illness. But Queen was so hard, she was determined not to tell her husband about another illness that she craved. 

"Don't give up, Queen. I know, you're a strong woman." Andre murmured, he grasped and rubbed the back of Queen's hand that looked very thin, only bone wrapped in skin only.
