Knights For Mundika

Knights For Mundika
1

The sound of singing birds whistling beautifully welcomes the morning in Dubai. Soft rays from the sun peeked behind the window of Mundika's room on the second floor.

"Pipipipipiiii..."

The sound of an alarm clock was heard from Mundika's smartphone. He woke up by opening a bedcover that covered his entire body. He immediately picked up his smartphone and checked what time it was.

"Gyaaaa!! I'm late!!!" Mundika shouted immediately down from her bed and ran towards the bathroom to take a shower and get ready. This habit he got from his mother who educated him to clean himself at least twice a day. But now he does not care if he wants to be clean or not, which must be a long dress just feet patterned with green flowers and black abaya in line with the hijab he wears neatly used on him. He was grateful to be given facial skin that without being given thick makeup already looked fresh and natural redness. Thank you to the mother who has passed down the good genes.

"Mom, I'm leaving now because I have to stop by the main house to leave for Baba and Mama Latifa and the other brothers," Mundika came down the stairs in a hurry to approach her mother who had finished preparing breakfast for her and her sister, Zayed. "At 10 hours there will be a meeting between the directorates at the hospital."

"You're not having breakfast first, Nduk?" Ask Artika who received a hand kiss and kiss on her right and left cheek from Mundika.

"I have breakfast in the hospital" replied Mundika, who kissed and stroked her 15-year-old sister Zayed's hair and left the house. "Assalamu'alaikum."

"Wa'alaikumsalam, be careful on the road..."

Mundika walked half-run towards the main house to say goodbye. However, as the son of his father's young wife, it was his duty to say goodbye to his father and his old mother. After arriving at the main house, he saw his father, his old mother, Majid Kak, Maitha Kak, and Haya Kak, the children of his father and his old mother were having breakfast at the dinner table.

"Good morning Baba, Mama Latifa, Majid's sister," Mundika kissed her hands, right cheeks and left cheeks to her father, her old mother and Majid's sister. When he was about to do the same with his two older sisters, he got rejected as usual.

"Never touch me and my sister Haya!" Maitha ketus. Such a sight had been commonplace for 25 years of his life. But still leaves a pain in the chest. Apparently, her brothers have hated her for so long. Yes, he certainly still loves and loves them.

"You seem to be in a hurry, son, is there any important business?" Ask Dalmouk, his father.

"I said I had permission to leave in a hurry because at 10 this morning there was a meeting at the hospital. Looks like there'll be a visit from an important person to the hospital and I shouldn't be absent." Mundika's feelings grew increasingly violent as time continued to pass. "I'm gone, Assalamu'alaikum."

"Wa'alaikumsalam."

After making sure that nothing is left behind, he immediately got into his silver SUV and got out of the car park to the highway that will direct him to one of the hospitals where he works in the Dubai Healthycare City Area.

What is it today that he installed the wrong alarm clock. It could be that he after the morning prayers went back to sleep. Is it because he was too relaxed soaking in the sea yesterday? By the way, considering the sea made him remember the incident scolded by an unknown man. He shuddered in horror at being scolded and accused of committing suicide. Though the activities at sea like yesterday often he did if his mind is chaotic. Well, however, he is also an ordinary human who can not always bright cheerful like there is no burden.

Mundika parked his car in one of the parking slots specifically for doctors. After making sure that no one was left behind, he immediately ran towards the absentee machine then continued his footsteps towards the 15th floor to attend the meeting. Fiuhhh.., he rubbed the dripping sweat on his temple with the tissue he stored in his brown backpack. One of the differences he felt why he preferred to use a backpack compared to a woman's bag like most other Emirati because the bag contains many needs that he has. He understood why his two older sisters often called him half Emirati. He always had a different look than most people there and was more likely to accept the culture from his mother who came from Indonesia.

TING!

The elevator sounds. Mundika who saw the elevator door open for the 15th floor immediately stepped foot into the large meeting room there.

"Welcome to Doctor Mundika bint Dalmouk," Sapa Hakeem, the Chief Doctor of the hospital seems to know the arrival of Mundika who walked a little quietly to not disturb the atmosphere of silence in the meeting room. All the doctors who were participants in the meeting there turned to Mundika.

Mundika could only pat her face in embarrassment. Why this one doctor hobby once pranks himself. About her babanya friend and her supervisor during the thesis. Does he still not sincerely give him the value of A while the other highest value is B?

"Good Morning Chief Doctor." Mundika took a breath then put on her flagship smile which according to her friends can conquer anyone. "I'm sorry it's a little late."

"Both the Chief Doctor" Mundika nodded and walked to his seat next to Rabiya, one of his former college friends and also the doctor at the hospital.

"Tumben you're late?" Rabiya asked while whispering.

"I misplaced the alarm," Mundika grimaced in light of her stupidity.

"It's a good thing the meeting hasn't started yet."

"It's as important as what people are coming today? Is the Emir or Crown Prince coming?" Ask Mundika. "Why do I feel the expressions of the people present here seem so tense and solemn?"

"Didn't you read the details of the invitation sent by the General regarding today's meeting?"

"No," Mundika shook with her innocent face. "I just read the 'urgent' sign in the email.”

"It looks like there will be a change in the charge of this hospital," Rabiya sighed at the nature of this friend who if in a hurry pay less attention to any details. "You'll know for yourself that our Emir has quite a number of sons, perhaps one of those to come is the new hospital's in charge."

"Ooo...," Mundika nodded lazily. It is not that he does not respect the leaders or founding families of the city in which he was born and raised. It's just that he is not a person who likes to stand out to attract the attention of the family because he wants to be known by his achievements, not his family background. It is very contrary to the people around him who are competing to be part of the Emir family by all means to find face.

Adjacent to the Emir family is very thickly political and he is not a political connoisseur. For him the political world is so dizzying and sickening that he stayed away from it because he was also one of the victims of politics. Baba and her mother were lovers before. Just because her mother is an overseas person and has no background in blue blood family as her baby finally betrothed and married Mama Latifa who sekufu to continue the generation of pure blood of her big family.

His mother who knew this chose to withdraw from Babanya's life and tried to sincerely that her marriage to Babanya ended here. Somehow the story goes, Mama Latifa came to her mother to beg her mother to be willing to marry her baby and sincerely herself combined. Absolutely insane! Are they not aware of the adverse effects on their children?

Ah, every time he thought about it made his chest seem to be sliced into pieces. He never even dared to dream with whom he would marry later considering his half Emirati. All he can do is make himself exist in his own way.

"Because..."

"Mundicians..."

"Doctor Mundika bint Dalmouk, have you not noticed what Sheikh Mansoor bin Maktoum has said?" Again Hakeem caught Mundika making a mistake. What happened to that girl today? Usually the girl appeared so brilliant as if impeccably. But today the girl almost made him angry. How could Mundika daydream at such a crucial time? Moreover, at the time one of the sons of the Emir of Dubai, Mansoor bin Maktoum, was speaking on the podium.

"Eh?" Mundika who realized from her daydreams blinked her eyes to make sure she focused forward after getting a harsher reprimand from the Chief Doctor. What did the Chief Doctor say? Sheikh Mansoor bin Maktoum? One of the sons of the Emir of Dubai?

Suddenly Mundika fell silent as if she had just seen a ghost before her. An expression of fear mixed with disbelief with the figure on the podium that was pointing at him with a piercing look made him want to immediately run away from the room.

It's over this time! He did not expect that the man who scolded him and was reciprocated by stepping on the foot of the man turned out to be one of the important people in Dubai! Blame him for never paying attention to his friends or family when talking about family members of the Emir of Dubai. If this is how it should be?!

Mansoor, who was aware of Mundika's frightened and panicked expression, smiled as he stared intently at the girl.

“I found you! Don't expect you to run away from me like yesterday!”
