Love me, Mr. Duke

Love me, Mr. Duke
Chapter 5.Wedding Day

...~Love Me My Lord Duke ~...

...~oOo0oOo~...

As the days went by, as Vounch and Eleanor were busy arranging my wedding preparations, Carxen also came to our residence more often to talk to my father.

Then---

It is time for the day I will marry Carxen.

A white broken white wedding dress covered my entire body. The black hair that had reached my back remained in the outline. The decoration above my head is a white lace with a rose pattern.

Right now I was walking towards the altar accompanied by Vounch who was holding my arm in a friendly manner.

From above the altar Carxen was waiting for me with a priest. Carxen was wearing a white tuxedo suit, he looked very handsome as well as much more radiant with his current appearance.

Our marriage was attended by only a few nearby nobles. About 17 nobles, including Martha, Vounch and Eleanor.

As soon as I arrived on the altar, Carxen offered his hand to me without a smile, as usual. I immediately held Carxen's hand, and walked before him while still holding his hand.

We followed all the wedding processions well. It was time to make a wedding promise.

I don't know why I feel so nervous and fluttering.

"Then it's time to formalize your marriage. I let each of my sisters and brothers answer my question" said the pastor.

In front of the pastor and the audience, we will say the vow of marriage to live as long as it should be spoken by two people who love each other, such as Martha and Barrlet.

It's not that two people who have no feelings for each other, like me and Carxen.

"Carxen Van De Callisto, will the brother marry Viellen Von Reynch who is here and loves him faithfully for life both in joy and in sorrow?"

"I'm willing," Carxen replied without a doubt, without a smile, without showing any expression on his face, while continuing to look me in the eye.

I smiled softly at Carxen's thoughtless reply. I don't know why my chest feels claustrophobic, like something's stuck.

The white-haired priest turned his gaze away from Carxen, the priest's green eyes glaring gently at me.

'Relax Viellen, don't be nervous. Everything will be fine.'

"Viellen Von Reynch, would the sister marry Carxen Van De Callisto who is here and love her faithfully for life both in joy and in sorrow?"

I took a pause, to catch my breath slowly. Silence was created, I heard the voices of some people who started to whisper quietly from the guest bench.

I stared straight at the chest of Carxen's field as I thought things over.

There was doubt in me to answer the pastor's question. My little heart seemed to be asking again, 'Is this kind of marriage what you want?' 'Are you sure you want to marry the man in front of you right now?' Of course the answer is no. I don't want to marry someone I don't love, or someone who doesn't love me.

'i... I really don't want to get married. I just want to run as far as possible. I want to leave this place.

"...na Viellen's..."

"Miss Viellen," the priest's voice resuscitated me.

"I'll repeat. Please Miss Viellen listen carefully."

'Realize Viellen, control yourself. Remember purpose. Don't let Father Mom and Martha down.'

"Viellen Von Reynch, would the sister marry Carxen Van De Callisto who is here and love her faithfully for life both in joy and in sorrow?"

Carxen gave a light squeeze on my hand that was still within his grasp. He seemed to convince me.

I ventured to look at Carxen carefully, both of Carxen's eyeballs shining beautifully like ruby jewels. He looked into my eyes full of confidence, through the look in his eyes as if he was saying that he would protect me with all his might and was willing to accept me with all his heart.

I gulped heavily and violently, then took a slow breath.

"Yes..."

"I-I'm willing." After saying that, I tried to extend my smile to Carxen.
