Love That (No) Blind

Love That (No) Blind
Part 55-1: Lies From the Beginning

[Sara]

“Wuah, why did you add an embul?,” exclaimed Sara when she saw Milo on her sleeping pillow. He deliberately played the cat's distended stomach to tease her. But the one who was seduced was lazy to move apparently.

Last night, once home, Sara only had time to meet with Mbok Jami and Pak Pardi. Yes, they still work at Agam – house or Sara's house (?).

As long as the house is empty, Mbok Jami and Pak Pardi are taking care of it, including Milo. But Arya occasionally comes to deliver Milo's needs. “Mama doesn't like pets at home,” she said.

Sometimes Arya sends photos and videos of Milo to Sara while she is in Japan. But these days it's rarely done, probably because it's too busy. Therefore, a bit surprised also Sara saw Milo was already that bulky.

Milo eventually wakes up and begins to indulge with Sara. Either because she remembers it, or indeed Milo can be familiar with anyone, but the cat looks comfortable rubbing his head on Sara's arm.

Sara smiled seeing that the cat was finally able to grow healthy. It used to look very small and weak.

Playing with Milo was Sara's way of calming her mind from the restlessness of her talk about Vian with Agam last night. Agam is in his study, and Sara does not know what to do, so Milo aims to help him relax a little more.

But his mind was getting far away. Sara gets more complicated thinking about Vian and the things she just learned from Agam.

Australian and orphaned, that's only a small part. The other truth had made him much more like a fool all along.

“I'm looking for you everywhere, it turns out here.”

Sara immediately turned her head to look for Agam's voice which turned out to be standing nearby. He stood up finally leaving the cat who still wanted to be spoiled with him.

“Have you left, Mas?,” asked Sara who did not answer Agam's question.

“A minute,” reply Agam. Her hand now touched Sara's face and rubbed it gently. “Still thinking about last night?”

Sara shook her head. “Slightly. But it's okay.”

“You sure?”

Sara nodded.

Mas Agam was worried enough to not even dare to say it. So I better not show my anxiety.

“Today you went to Mom's house, right?,” asked Agam again.

“Iya, Mas. Later after Mas depart.”

“No need to wait for me to leave. You just use that car at home. I'll be picked up by the office driver. You bring a lot of souvenirs anyway. Cars that are at home are bigger,” Agam explained.

“Mas until what time? Out of Mom's place, will I pick you up?”

“Today just look around before the release. Later when it's finished, I followed all of you to visit Mother.”

Sara nodded in agreement.

Cooperation between Agam and technology companies from Japan caused Agam to bring with him his busy life to Indonesia.

The translation tool project that was done with Tania and Yuda was finally completed. A fairly well-known technology company in Japan volunteered to produce it.

Agam only put forward a condition. “The release should be done in Indonesia as well.”

So, therefore, the branch office of the company in Indonesia has started busy preparing for its release. And Agam was also preoccupied with it.

“Tante Saraaaaa ..” Nisa's cry sounded boisterous as soon as Sara entered the fence.

Sara's hands were full of luggage, it was still helped by the driver carrying it. And the impatient Nisa immediately hugged Sara without waiting for her to put her things down.

“Nisa ... Help Aunt Sara get her stuff in. Hug him later in.” Fortunately, there was Mina.

As soon as she put it all down, Sara gave her regards to Mom, then hugged her tightly.

“Sara kangen very same Mother,” said Sara lirih when hugging her. “Mother is healthy, right?”

Mother nodded while smiling. “Healthy mom. You how? How gaam? You're all healthy, right?”

“Alhamdulillah healthy, Bu.”

“Alhamdulilah ..”

A little chat with Mom about Agam and his busyness now, as well as his health. While the impatient children peeked one by one the things that Sara brought.

But seeing Mom getting healthier since the surgery, Sara could breathe a sigh of relief. Though doctors have advised to be careful in case of complications. Thank God, it didn't happen.

It took over an hour to hand out all the luggage for everything. Too many things Sara brought from Japan.

Most of them chose Agam when they went for a walk. Not only for Mom, Agam chose toys for Nisa and Nino. As for Mina and her husband, as well as for Mbok Jami and Pak Pardi at home handed over to Sara who worked on it.

As soon as she finished sharing, Sara let the kids play with her new toy, while she returned to Mom to chat.

“Sara, sakbenere ana sing arep Mom crapno ... (Actually someone wants you to talk about ...)”

I haven't finished saying it yet, someone's already giving greetings.

“Assalamualaikum, Bu ..”

Sara was surprised instead of playing to see who was standing at the front door.

Vian Mas?

“Im sorry Mom ... But, for the past year or so, Vian has always come here. I thought you guys weren't gonna see each other. Therefore, I'm not a story.” That's what I really wanted to tell Sara.

A year? Wh-wh-what for?

But year? Isn't that the same as Ava's return to Indonesia?

“Say Mom, Mas comes here often,” Sara said without making small talk again as she invited Vian out to talk.

Vian smiled in response. “Why? I can't come here now?”

“According to Mas Vian himself how?,” asked Sara back. “Mas is engaged to Ava. I don't want this to be a misunderstanding later on that will drag Mom into this.”

“You're afraid of your husband or Ava misunderstanding this?”

“Both. Ava's my sister-in-law. She will also be my sister-in-law. So I guess it's good to stop coming here.” Sara looked at him firmly. Give him a very clear clarity if he objected to his arrival.

Vian was silent. But his smile was still there.

“How long have you been married?”

“So Ava is the mate chosen by Mas's parents?,” Sara deliberately asked back when Vian asked that. He refused to answer.

“Hmm ... They introduced their friend.”

Lies. Which parents do you mean?

“You love him?” Vian asked again.

And Sara did the same. “So how did you guys meet? Mas in Melbourne, Ava in New York.”

Vian speechless. His smile disappeared, his lips changing, which showed that he was thinking.

“Video call, as we used to.”

Sara squeezed her hand hard. Why should we talk about us? From the beginning there was no us.

Sara remembered her last conversation with Agam. Vian knew Ava before she left for Melbourne. Before Ava left for New York, they had met. That was even before Sara and Vian knew each other. Ava was already in New York when Sara got to know Vian.

And again, from the beginning you were always in New York, not in Melbourne.

“You haven't answered my question, Sar.” Vian's voice instantly broke Sara's daydream. “How long have you been married to her? Before or after we break up?”

Whatdoes thatmean?

“Assalamualaikum ..”

Sara turned her head. His surprise made him reflexively do that. And even more surprised when he saw Agam already standing in front of the gate of his house.

“Mas Agam ..”
