Traveling in Vishnu Temple is very fun. We can learn and know the story of the avatars of Lord Vishnu.
"Well can I drink?" I asked while pointing at the mineral water in Ivan's hand.
"Let's e, really thirsty tenan iki." Ivan then gave me a bottle of mineral water.
"Naik yuk to Vishnu's room" Fais then took us up to the main garbagrha.
When I was about to go up, I turned to the temple courtyard and I saw the handsome man again. He smiled at me and then he walked into Garuda's room.
'I need to know who he is!' I said in a heart full of curiosity.
"Hey .. nglamun only, let's ride this quiet mountain." Fais then pulled my hand which was still focused on the presence of the mysterious man.
I then boarded with Fais.
"Where is Ivan and Dika?" ask me while releasing the hand of Fais holding my arm.
"Sorry .. they're both on top." Fais then pointed to Vishnu's room. He pointed as a sign that the person I was referring to was already inside.
I then patted the shoulders of my guards.
"How come you left me anyway?" I said a little too much about the behavior of the two of them.
Dika then terrorized my head, "It's not you who daydream, until you forget us, huh."
I smiled and then distracted the two of them.
"Look we identify the statue of Lord Vishnu." I said opening a chat about the statue in front of us.
They 3 then turn their attention to the statue of Vishnu.
"Sankha, Cakra, and that's what's his right hand?" said Ivan who arrived - suddenly thought what something was held by Narayana.
"That's a lotus" I said.
Vishnu is one of the gods of Trimurti. He has a duty as a Sthiti or a custodian. Vishnu has many names of which the most famous is Narayana. That is why Vishnu is also called Narayana or protector of the universe.
"Does Vishnu have a companion, such as Lord Shiva who has Goddess Parvati or Durga? ask Ivan.
Dika then replied, "His name is Dewi Laksmi and Sri."
"Laksmi is the goddess of wealth and fortune. While Sri is the goddess of rice or prosperity." I said
"You know, why Vishnu chose garuda as his vehicle, why not choose other wild animals, such as dragons, tigers, crocodiles?" fais asked who made Ivan then frowned while shaking.
"Know it!" dika and I answered simultaneously while smiling and glancing at the two of them.
Fais then nodded his head and he began by explaining about the origin of Garuda into Vishnu vehicle.
The story starts from a debate between 2 wives of Bhagawan Kasyapa, namely Dewi Kadru (mother of snakes) and Dewi Winata (mother of Garuda). They both bet on a white horse named Ucchaisrawa (the horse that came out of the process of stirring the sea Ksirasamudra).
Kadru said that the tail of the horse was black. Winata said that the Uccaisrawa horse is smooth white. Then they bet, who loses must be the slave who wins.
----
Kadru then spoke to the children of the serpents. The snake later said that the tail of the Uccaisrawa was white. Kadru then devised a strategy to have the tail of his horse black. He then told his children to bring out the can so that the tail is black.
---
The day of betting arrived. Winata was very surprised when he saw the tail of the Ucchaisrawa horse in black. As per the promise that Winata should become a slave of Kadru. Winata had to babysit the really naughty snakes. Long story short, Garuda did not have the heart to see his mother tortured. He wanted to free his mother from slavery.
Kadru also gave the condition that his mother Garuda could be free if he managed to bring the amrta in exchange for slavery. Garuda also agreed and he went to the swargaloka to ask for amrta from the gods. However, Garuda's request was denied by the gods, that the amrta was only for the gods.
Garuda then raged and attacked the gods. Dewa Indra (leader of the gods) then asked Vishnu to help defeat Garuda.
---
Vishnu then met Garuda and promised to help him get the amrta after knowing the reason for Garuda. Vishnu saw that Garuda was a powerful bird, devoted to his parents. So he was interested in making Garuda as his vehicle. Garuda was then willing to become Vishnu's vehicle.
---
Garuda has returned from swargaloka with a jug of amrta. Kadru and the snakes were then delighted. Garuda then put forward the condition that they should drink it in the middle of a wide field, filled with weeds. Garuda put the amrta jug in the middle of the weeds. The god Indra then descended into the world and took the jug. But the snake then chased after him and the jug accidentally fell and wet the weeds. The snake then licks the weeds. However, because of the sharpness of the thatch leaves make his tongue split in two. That is why snakes have two-pronged tongues.
----
We are satisfied with Fais' detailed explanation. Dika then asked a question that made Fais and Ivan have to frown on them
"Do you know about the story of the greatness of Lord Vishnu in stirring the sea of milk? tanya Dika accompanied by her sly smile.
"Link milk?" tanya Fais asserted that Dika did not mispronounce.
"Yes, the story of the ocean." I said.
They then asked us to explain the story of milking the sea.

Note :
In the Vishnu reading in Java, Vishnu often described with Garuda. That is why because Garuda is Vishnu's vehicle. Archaeologists can also easily identify the Vishnu statue if it does not carry the chakra and sanka attributes. So Garuda is another feature to know the image of Lord Vishnu

***Episode this time is enough. Hopefully it can provide additional knowledge about the story of Lord Vishnu. The next episode is the story about the stirring of the milk ocean***
