"Are you not happy to hear that you're single now?"
"I'd rather hear you talk about Aunt Dien than ask about something unimportant."
The corner of Lily's lips was a little drawn-up to hear that Jared was already unconcerned about her brother. It's just that the mouth is often the opposite of the heart, right? And Lily wanted to make sure of that. Is there still a taste for Rose in Jared's heart? But why did he make sure? If Jared doesn't seem interested in him. Wh-wh-what for?
"You better talk about yourself!" jared said again.
"Me?" Lily pointed to herself. "What's wrong with me?"
"Did you still like me?"
Why discuss this? inner Lily. Lily became awkward for a moment.
"Hahaha, why is this your question! Why talk about that. Yayaya, I admit that I used to idolize you. I feel like my brother is lucky to have a lover like you. I also wanted to replace his position. I was even mad at him when he was yelling at you. He's stupid! Why would he do such a lowly thing, I don't think it out!" Lily spoke at length making Jared stunned with this girl's open attitude. Only once did Lily get to talk so casually and impress him so frankly. Jared likes this. A frankness.
"If now?"
"meaning?"
"If now, do you still like me?"
Lily remained silent. His mouth that had rambled about the taste of liking in the past suddenly clenched tightly.
"Answer!"
"If I don't answer?"
"Don't make me anxious. I want to know that answer so as not to die of curiosity."
"Are you going to die?" circus Lily.
Jared laughed softly. She ruffled Lily's hair making the girl stir in disbelief over this man's actions. A look at each other happened, and this time Jared could confirm again-through the look in Lily's eyes while looking at her-that Lily's gaze at her was very different.
"You like me, right?" lirih Jared with his distinctive voice. But this time the voice sounded very soft in Lily's sense of hearing.
"Can I eat now?" ask Lily while busy with a paperbag containing sandwiches and juices.
Jared laughed softly, knowing Lily was avoiding his question. Finally he just nodded at the girl as the answer.
_____
The Dientin treatment room opens, with Jared and Lily entering it. The meeting happened again between Rose and Jared. Apparently, since then, Rose has been taking care of Dientin. He turns with Lily because Lily should have gone to the cafeteria to eat and instead met Jared in the Hospital lobby.
"You again?" Rose's voice sounded unhappy. This time he stared alternately between Jared and Lily as if investigating something between the two.
"I told you I wanted to see Aunt Dien" said Jared flatly. He did not look at Rose.
Meanwhile, Lily resigned to the meeting of these two former lovers. He had to admit that he had liked Jared a long time ago, even until now - he had not rejected that feeling in his heart. But, if it turns out Jared still chooses his brother, what can he do. Perhaps in the mouth, the man could tell that there was no place for Rose to be in his heart, but who could measure the depth of one's heart??
"Here you are, mother. Don't argue here." Lily tried to mediate.
Jared approached the direction where Dientin was lying. He stared at the old woman's face for a long time. With a faint smile, she felt that if Aunt Dien was still beautiful at a young age, maybe Lily would also be like this later.
Suddenly Jared imagined the face of old Lily who remained beautiful and accompanied him. Why is his mind so far away. And Lily is beautiful? Since when did he think so? A few days ago she just felt Lily's face was pretty decent.
And why would he imagine Lily accompanying him in old age? A little thought, Jared remembered Jeff's words about him who remained alone even until the boy grew up. Is that gonna come true? It looks like Jared has to dismiss it so as not to become a reality, the way is with a decision and action.
Without realizing it due to being too late with his own thoughts, apparently Dientin has opened his eyes with a soft look.
"Jared.. Is this really you, son?"
"Yes, aunt."
"Thank you for visiting aunt. Aunt is actually fine."
Ah, why is Jared's heart so vulnerable to hearing this middle-aged woman's words. Yesterday during their first meeting, Dientin also said she was doing well, but today the woman is lying in the hospital bed.
Somehow Jared's eyes became heated, imagining the aunt who seemed to deliberately act as if everything was fine, as if nothing had happened to her.
"Thank you, son. You're a good man. Too bad not to be my daughter-in-law."
Dientin's words made Rose smile wryly. Same with Lily.
"Aunty's still expecting me to be Aunt's daughter-in-law?" jared's claws to warm the atmosphere.
"of course! If you don't match Rose, Lily's okay, too."
Deg
Jared's heart was pounding hard hearing Dientin's speech. Same with Lily whose name is also called. While Rose was grimacing in the corner of the room.
"If aunt comes back healthy, maybe I'll think about the aunt's request."
Lily patted her own eel, feeling Jared's speech wasn't funny. While Rose instantly got up from her position and passed out of the room.
Dientin. "If aunt asks you to go back to Rose, do you want to?"
Jared laughed softly. "If my choice now is Lily. Does aunt mind?" he said back asking.
Lily gaped at her position. Dientin smiled gently at Jared. He held the man's hand.
"Ah, aunt expected it. How far are your relationships?" ask Dientin then.
"I proposed to Lily, Bi. And he has accepted my proposal. Would Auntie want to bless us?"
Jared's words made Lily relax. The reason is, the speech is true, but the proposal is only a game. Why did this man admit it in front of his mother? His mother is also sick. Why would Jared have to play around like this and carry around the mother?
"Married, son. Lily deserves to be a wife. About Rose, maybe you guys aren't a match. Later aunt will talk to him while still being able to advise. Rose will understand."
Why would Rose understand? There is nothing more between them. Even if Rose doesn't understand, where is the problem? Jared didn't think about it because he had arrived at a decision and action.
"Mom, I'd better take a break, yeah. Me and Jared have to talk for a second." Lily interrupts the conversation between her mother and Jared. He felt Jared's words had gone too far to calm his mother.
Lily pulled Jared's arm a moment after her mother nodded. They came out of the room and immediately Lily sprayed the man with her words. Lily had even forgotten about the whereabouts of those in the hospital.
"You're nothing, Jared!"
"What?" ask Jared doesn't understand.
"Why did you say you were going to marry me? You realize not what you're saying!"
"Of course you are aware! If I sleep I can't stand here."
"Basic crazy!"
Jared laughs. "If I'm crazy, I'm at the Mental Hospital, Lily!" emphatically.
Lily snorted, "Don't play with my mother's feelings!"
Jared held onto both of Lily's shoulders and shone a sharp spotlight on her.
"I'm not playing with anyone's feelings! Neither you nor your mother! Didn't I propose to you last night? Don't tell me if you forgot! You've accepted me too, Lily Jane Garcia!" jared's toilet.
Lily remained silent. Why is the conversation so serious. "But. but. it's-it's-"
"Here you go, you have to remember that we were just as conscious and not drunk. This has been my decision. Accept it or not, I don't care what your most important response is that you've received my proposal! We'll get married no matter what."
Jared passed away feeling satisfied, he went back into Dientin's room. While Lily was silent with her mouth agape.
Without them noticing, Rose joined in on the debate. Rose finds out that Jared has proposed to her sister, Lily. And Lily, of course, Lily accepted because she had long liked her ex-boyfriend.
"Will Jared repay me by marrying Lily?" rose wondered.
