Josh took a breath and continued.

I am incapable of words. This explanation sounds very sincere.

“When I came to my senses from the hospital at the time, I actually had amnesia. You believe that?”

I shook my head.

I think from the beginning Josh was just pretending to be amnesiac. Tricking Doctor Bernard and trying to act in front of everyone to find a way out of the hell Celine created.
