Memories of a Thousand Years

Memories of a Thousand Years
Fly

The night wind stopped blowing. Dozens of eyes were fixed on one point.

One moment as soon as it arrived.

Someone stood bleeding. Looking at the pair of eyes that were now watering profusely. "I'm trying to make amends. Live well." He fell. The living figure was now one of the corpses on the battlefield. Bayu blew his whistle. Instantly also a puff of black smoke appeared filling the area. Blurring views. Bayu took Rinaya who was still there. Escape from all those moments.

Rinaya sat down by the river. Bayu watched from behind. Following all his steps went away in a limp. Someone he loved left. Rinaya lost the love of her life. A flash of memory appeared with the roar of tears. Not many sweet memories. But still he thought of her as family. Though only a memory when eating together, or when Mr. Budhi pinched his nose, or when they wrestled with cockroaches floating in the kitchen. That little thing made him feel lost.

"Let's take you home" Bayu approached and helped her up.

"Sometimes we feel life is unfair. Sometimes life feels so painful. Sometimes scolding comes for the creator of this destiny. But I always knew there was something good behind it. Bayu, do you think it's like that too?"

They walked along the path to the foot of Halimun mountain, the Fierce Forest. "Mn" Bayu said, "But sometimes I'm stubborn with the destiny I live. I don't even know what choice to make. Isn't everything we live by our own choice?"

"Maybe it is"

"Stop your heart Rinaya, all choose their own path. We just need to continue to do our best for those who sacrifice. Don't waste it."

"But Bayu. Life here, I don't have it. Even life there, I didn't choose it. I live everything with a chest. But injustice always appears before me."

"That's destiny. Something we cannot decide for ourselves. But the destiny of the future is not necessarily bad. As long as we live this moment well. We have to be sure the future will be much better."

Rinaya smiled "you're getting older Bayu"

Tama ran from the end of the road. Halimun settlement is in sight. Tama called out to her with a face full of panic "Daughter! You're finally here!"

"What's wrong?"

"Something happens. I don't understand."

They immediately rushed there. Something doesn't look very good. Jaka yelled no nonsense. Roll over on the floor. Something happened to him. There was a big lump on his neck. Moving around contortion. It was as if there was something under his skin that was about to find a way out. Bayu immediately checked his condition.

Rinaya "What happened?"

Tama "He's been complaining since last night. Something bit him and entered his body. She's ill. I don't know why"

Bayu "What do you see something like?"

Tama shook her head. He doesn't understand much about this.

Someone said, "On the battlefield the parasitic creature was about it. Get in his shirt. I didn't know it was still stuck. Since he wasn't in rasuki at the time, I thought it was gone."

Rinaya "Wood, can you do something?"

Bayu "We have to get it out!"

"We tried it. That didn't work. We even cut his skin a few times. The creature went deeper."

Blood was still clumping on the rest of the incision wounds on his body. The creature walked under his skin. The bare-chested body tried to hold the creature to silence.

Bayu closed his eyes as if thinking about what way could effectively bring out the creature. It's a different case than usual. Previously the creature was large and devoured its prey and he transformed into a human. Furthermore, the creature is small in size to enter its prey through ear holes, nostrils and mouth. And the human being changed as the creature wished. This time, he was trapped under the skin. It is difficult to enter the body but cannot be removed. At once Bayu also remembered the thing that could kill the creature was to drain spiritual energy on the weapon used. Bayu opened his eyes. Concentrate. Pressing the creature with his right hand. Draining his spiritual energy. Pressing it hard.

Jaka drooped weakly, not shouting anymore. No more fighting. He's unconscious. "I don't know if it works or not. I killed that thing. I don't know what the side effects are either."

Rinaya said "nothing, she'll be fine" She also didn't know if Jaka would be okay. He just wants to believe that. At least this was a good move rather than seeing him tormented like that. "You people! Please help him lay down on his bed."

Bayu and Rinaya sit in front of the bonfire. Warm yourself. The weather in the mountains is always cold. There is no thick fog anymore. "The barrier wall around the mountain had already disappeared. Did something happen here?"

"I guess because the chairman disappeared, all the energy he created was gone"

"Disappeared?"

"Eitherway. He left before the war started. No one knows where he's going."

"There's something strange about your song. Did you realize something?"

"Mrs. Some."

"For example?"

"I can never find it anywhere. When he arrived, he arrived, he disappeared. Like ghosts. Maybe because his knowledge is so high."

"Hm. Then?"

"He was very strong at night. And he's always alone during the day."

"Do you know who he really is?"

"I never found out about it."

"...."

"Is that why you told me to leave the group?"

"many things. One of them is."

A few hours after waking up. A corpse-like face, widened cornea of the eye. He looks like a ghost. Tama who was by her bedside was happy she finally woke up. A little afraid to see those empty eyes. Like he's not in her. Tama ran telling this to Rinaya and Bayu. They also rushed to come. Bayu checked carefully. Check his pulse and check for side effects from the creature.

"Daughter, is she okay?"

"No need to worry Tama."

"He's fine for now. We have to keep watching him."

They rushed out to see the situation. It appears that two people he knows are arguing with some members of the group. They had never set foot in that small settlement. They are considered foreigners who may be dangerous and have evil intentions. There's nothing wrong with that.

The members of the group who blocked the road slowly pulled over as Rinaya walked over. "Princess. They tried to break in. I don't understand why the barrier wall doesn't work."

Rinaya "The wall is gone. We need to be more vigilant." All the members nodded in response to the order.

Rinaya "Why did you come here?"

Haris "I have to talk to Bayu"

Rinaya beckons "Come in"

Haris walked over to Bayu who was just standing in the doorway of Goa. Dhika follows behind with Rinaya "You okay?" Ask Dhika

"Of course" he answered Rinaya flatly. "No need to worry."  They sat in front of the fire. Let Haris and Bayu talk.

Bayu looked at Haris in front of him "You shouldn't have to come here"

"Why would you rather defend him? Our family's at stake, you understand that, right?"

"...."

"I can understand if it's your choice to keep the creature. You always do that. But you've seen for yourself how everyone views him. You saw for yourself how last night's war was. He can't escape punishment"

"It's just the Wilis family's selfish obsession. All just a guess. We cannot judge someone just because of one point of view. You also know they're involved in the war. Anyways..."

"I don't understand you. Because he is always the problem. If he's not there we probably won't experience all this."

"Haris enough. I have my own reasons why I'm doing this. It has nothing to do with you."

"Do you have no heart? I am your brother. We were together since childhood. My family's always looking after you, why don't you know yourself."

"Then go!" Bayu raised his voice. "Take me as a dead man. Never been present in your life. Because I should have died in Kulon cave by then."

"Are you crazy? What debt did he give you that you threw away your own family? Alright. From now on we have no relationship."

Haris looked straight into the cave. Someone was standing in the doorway of the room. Jaka listened to all those conversations. Even Dhika and Rinaya who were sitting in front of the bonfire were listening to him. No one eavesdropped. But their conversation was so loud that it sounded clear. Rinaya muttered "You shouldn't be acting like that."

Haris turned around and stepped his foot. Stop for a moment and look at Rinaya a few meters away. Leaving a hateful look. Then go on.

An hour later Boris and his men came through the gate. Haris was with them with some wounds on his face. He must have been forced to show me the way. Boris's army broke through. Attacking everyone who was there without readiness. Riots happened. The same thing happened back. When Boris forcibly breaks through the Wijaya family residence. Haris only pegged his grim expression. While everyone was trying to fight back and save themselves. Rinaya runs into Goa approaching Jaka and Tama. "So something happened outside. Boris barged in. You and Tama go through the secret passage in the chairman's room."

Jaka shook his head "I'll be with you."

There was no other choice Rinaya could only agree to. Jaka was always stubborn with what he wanted. Rinaya leads Tama to the chairman's room . Open a small door under the carpet. There's a ladder heading down. Rinaya supplied him with a large candle. "Tama listen to me. You get out of here. Go to Polan village Meet someone named Raka. Show her this flower brooch. Tell me you're my sister. Stay there until I pick you up."

"But princess..."

"There's no time. Go before they find you. You have to live well. ya."

Tama started to shed her tears.he's a smart kid. He understood something bad might happen. He also understood that this was a farewell. "Are you really going to pick me up?"

Rinaya. "I'll come. Wait out. You have to live well. Don't worry about anything. yeah!!"

Tama follow the word he said. He immediately descended and Rinaya closed the path back. Rinaya hurriedly ran out and joined the others. Something is not always in his guess. Jaka got up from his place. Fresh blood flowed from his mouth. Almost all members of the group were killed. Rinaya's eyes heated up seeing the horror. It's only a few minutes for Rinaya in there. But the situation changed very quickly. Boris stabbed his sword in Jaka's stomach which had just shouted "Princess. Run!!" Rinaya froze. His blood flow stopped. Time seems to slow down. Dhika intercepts an attack from a soldier for Rinaya who is still staring to see Jaka's body falling to the ground. Bayu ran over and pulled Rinaya away.

Rinaya ran with her tears. Boris and his army are in pursuit. Rinaya ran not to escape Boris. But he couldn't bear to see all his friends die because of him.

His steps stopped following the road that ended at the edge. The high cliffs are at the end of that road. Rinaya did not care about it. she just stood up and cried. Dhika and Bayu turned their gaze in search of another path. But Boris got there faster. He is obsessed with ending Rinaya's life.

Boris laughed "You're like a cat losing its mother."

Bayu "Stop it Boris. Don't you feel like you've done enough to kill people?"

Boris "You better stop protecting that guy. Or I'll put you on a list of treason and defiance. I should have thanked your brother. He voluntarily pointed the way, and made my business easier."

Rinaya was still looking at the cliff. Very steep and high cliffs. It's basically invisible. Only white is covered in mist. Plunging at that height would definitely not have survived. Rinaya turned body. His eyes are now sharp. There is no more Good-hearted Rinya. He was pouring his energy in both hands. Something formed from his left hand. A reddish blue glowing arrow bow. He pulled the rope and aimed it right at Boris. slowly formed a red arrow.

Seeing that Boris instantly reacted "Strike!!" he knew Rinaya could do that. He had seen him in the war yesterday when he was not holding any weapons. He also heard information from his soldiers who survived while in Goa Kulon.

All the soldiers did not step. Rinaya's arrow shot very quickly at him. Once the arrow shot was split into five. Right about the enemy. Boris managed to dodge by using the other soldiers as a shield.

"Jlebb" Rinaya stepped back. Something happens quickly and unexpectedly. An arrow stuck on Rinaya's right shoulder. Dhika and Bayu close their bodies to prevent an attack that may come again. Boris's men returned to disarm. Some are back to attack. Bayu and Dhika are busy stopping them. Rinaya pulled out the arrow that injured her.By enduring the pain she tried to re-form the Arrow Crashing it again into five. Kill them all at once.

Fate was not being kind to him. Another arrow pierced through his body. It was then that he realized Someone on top of the tree was aiming for ya. He quickly thrust an arrow towards the archer. He hit his body and fell to the ground.

Boris always felt Bayu and Dhika always beat him. Seeing them all this time made him even more furious. He ran when no one noticed. Running swinging his sword to Bayu who was right in front of Rinaya resisted the attack of the soldiers.

One second seemed to be going so slowly. Rinaya sees Boris's goal. He pushed Bayu aside and confronted Boris. Holding the sword with the short sword he had just pulled out of its sheath. Rinaya pushed back unable to hold back. Dhika is moving fast. Laying sword. Boris avoided. Out of nowhere a shot of arrows shot between them. Slightly injured Dhika's arm. Passed it. Rinaya smiled. Closed his eyes. Ah, I'm tired, I want to go home and sleep well.

Rinaya is running out of footing. His final move led him to one that he probably would not be able to feel anymore. I'm Surrendering.

*When the warm sun continues to shine. At that time, asa was never extinguished.

I promise to live a better life. I turned to that promise.

I was too overwhelmed by the dream. Wake me up when I have to live a new life.

Goodbye* ....
