Chapter 11: Meeting room
All the Division heads are already in the meeting room, this year his company replaced some of the old Division heads that are considered less able to work. Javier handed over the responsibility to Carlos. When the door opens all employees stand up to salute their CEO. Javier took his place in his chair. Highlight his eyes were fixed on everyone who was there, watching him one by one with his flat and cold face until his gaze met a woman in a floral blue shirt . When seen, the woman seems to be avoiding Javier's gaze. Sometimes the woman looked down.
"Jeez.why is he my boss. Why I can't know. Geez Emma all this time you've been going anywhere," Emma's inner gulps her saliva hoping her boss doesn't recognize her.
"I don't know what will happen after this if he remembers me" he said. Emma bowed so Javier wouldn't recognize her. Especially when they meet. Emma saw Javier looking to furrow both eyebrows. While the other women who were there looked very confident, hoping Javier would glance at them. Moreover, they know their superiors are not married anymore. Who wouldn't fall into Javier's charm. The man is handsome, rich, has sharp eyes and a stocky body.
Carlos walked towards the empty seat that was beside Emma. If he usually sits near Javier, this time he wants to sit next to the beautiful woman.
"Hi.." said Carlos softly greeting Emma.
"Carlos.who told you to sit there" Javier intruded as Carlos sat down. Carlos then took a seat right to Javier's left.
"All right.rapat we'll start. I see some of you are new here" Javier glanced at Emma who was also staring at him.
One by one they began to describe the programs they created to achieve their division goals. Javier will ask if there are some points that he thinks are not appropriate if applied. Meanwhile, Emma seemed to be rereading her little note, to confirm what she had prepared last night. Emma was a little nervous because she was not used to attending meetings like this because in the previous workplace she was just an ordinary employee. Especially in front of the CEO of the company. "Yes.." Emma cried unconsciously if she was currently in the meeting room and accidentally dropped her note. Instantly he became shriveled because of his own carelessness coupled with the gaze of Javier as if he wanted to pounce on him. Emma lowered her head and took her fallen note.
"Oups.., be careful Miss Emma," Carlos said as he saw Emma's head accidentally bumped into a corner of the table.
