CHAPTER 40 | Could I Know It?

A sense of joy mixed with happiness emanated from Meli's face. Meli loves Mr. Rudy like her own real father, but although very fond of him it does not make Meli undo his intention to divorce Reno and destroy him. Meli already has a backup plan for that. The work piled up was done by Laura without realizing that lunch time had arrived. Laura was still busy working until she was surprised by the sound of her phone from her own phone.

“Good day with me Laura” Laura replied while staring at her laptop screen.

“I order the grilled fish one ya” replied Ken.

Laura frowned and looked at the screen of her phone. Not realizing that the phone was from her own lover and Laura answered it in formal language.

“Oh God's.. Ken's.. Sorry dear. I was so focused on my work that I didn't realize you were calling me. What's up?” Laura asked with concentration on her lapotope.

“Have lunch yet?” Ask Ken.

“Not yet. I’m bussy” Laura replied.

“So, i’m in front of you office. Let we luch together” replied Ken

Laura frowned and looked out of the window to make sure that Ken was right in front of her office.

“Ken, I have a lot of work. I can't have lunch now.” Laura replied while looking out the window.

“Work after eating, don't torture yourself Lau. I promise it won't be long, I've booked one temapat.” Ken replied to Laura.

“promise me isn’t long Ken” Tanya Laura

“I promise my Lau”

Laura turned off her phone and immediately grabbed her things for lunch with her lover. Although Laura tries to refuse because of her job, Laura still hopes that Ken takes her out for lunch. Laura came down with pleasure because she could meet her lover even if only for a moment.

“Ken.” Laura cried while running to hug Ken.

“Come in fast. You can't linger long with me.” Ken answered while opening the car door for Laura.

Ken got into the car and headed straight to the restaurant he had booked for lunch. Ken knows Laura very well, even Ken to order a special theme for lunch with his lover because he knows that Laura is very very busy this late and often misses lunch hours.

“You look so tired Lau” asks Sam while occasionally looking at Laura's face while driving.

“Working as a lawyer known enough to many people really killed me Ken. I'm tired and want enough rest.” Laura replied while leaning her head on Ken's shoulder.

Ken smiled and peeked at Laura's forehead which was currently on her shoulder and rubbed her nose into Laura's hair.

“Then do you want to stop? I can meet your needs, Lau”, cried Ken.

“Why is your answer the same as Dance? I don't want to stop, I love this job, I'm just tired and fed up with all this.” Laura replied while slightly ripping.

“Alright. then take two days off next month. I will take you on vacation wherever you want” replied Ken.

Laura looked at Ken in surprise while holding her smile. Ken saw the look on Laura's face was very happy but a little incredulous about her words.

“Why? I’m serious.” Ken replied with a smile

A feeling of pleasure was fixed on his face at this moment. Ken smiled seeing his lover smiling happily like this. Laura's tiredness instantly disappeared hearing Ken take her on vacation wherever she wanted.

Ken and Laura arrive at their destination resto, they go in and sit down. Without waiting long and without ordering, the food had already arrived and they immediately ate without wasting any more time.

“Order on behalf of Mr. Kenan” Excited the waiter of the restaurant while bringing his order.

Ken and Laura gobbled up the food quickly. Ken was happy to see his lover eat so greedily that he did not take out a word while eating.

“You're so hungry? Take my allotment. I'm not so hungry” cried Ken.

Laura smiled with the rice tipped on the right side of her lips, making Ken laugh at the way Laura ate. Ken gave half his rations to Laura and cleaned one grain of rice that was on the right side of his lips.

“Slow down dear.” Aken.

A few minutes later, Laura and Ken finished eating. As if unable to move it felt, Laura's stomach was really very full, she spent hers also half of Ken's.

“You full?” Ken asked, holding Laura's hand.

“Iya Ken's. Thanks ya.. You took care of me and cared for me so well until I got fat.” Answer Laura.

“Although you turned into a fat woman though, it doesn't matter to me.” He kissed Laura's hand.

Ken gives Laura the car keys and tells her to get in the car first because Ken will pay the bill.

“Sign in to the car first Lau, I will pay briefly” cried Ken while giving the car keys pad Laura.

Laura complied and took the car keys out of Ken's hand while Ken went to the cashier to pay his bills.

“Total how much?” Ask Ken.

“One hundred fifty pak” replied the employee.

Ken delivers the cash and heads straight to the car to drive Laura to his office and back to work.

“Oke, I'll take you first.” Ken said as he started his car.

“Thank you Ken for today Ken. And I'm sorry if the end of this I don't have much time for you.” Laura in the car.

“Already. We're not high school kids anymore who have to keep calling each other 24/7 Lau. We have busy work as well, in order to achieve the dream of the future together.” Ken replied while kissing Laura's forehead.

“Oh Ken, tomorrow our agenda is watching together what can be delayed? I suddenly have to meet my client tomorrow. What I told you first, she wants a divorce from her husband.” Laura Excited.

“Ah... All right, what's his name? Meli?” Answer Ken.

“Iya.. Her name is Meli.”

Ken frowned and also rolled his eyes. The name was familiar to him, as Ken had heard it before.

“Who is her husband's name?” Ken asked to convince himself.

“Emm.. If it's not wrong, it's Reno. What was? You know him?” Ask Laura.

“Ohh.. No, just curious, I think Meli is the person I know” replied Ken.

Ken feels that the Meli that Laura and Meli talked about her sister-in-law's best friend is the same Meli.
